  • The dancer makes the video that more intense...lol

  • GREAT VIDEO LOVE IT

  • What on earth has a gyrating g-go dancer got to do with the intent of the song?

    A wasted opportunity..

  • We should listen to Karl...

  • timeless and timely

  • Amazing how Karl Wallinger's lyrics ring MORE true with each passing year; as we rape, pillage, and plunder the planet into oblivion.

  • Nice sunglasses Karl........................

  • who r the water boys is this world party before

  • its great that they never made it big .they never sold out.financial success does not a great band make.great music makes world party great.thats what makes it precious

  • Such a shame these guys never made it big, though I don't care because I can still listen to them away and they're great

  • One of the best bands I have ever seen onstage. Karl Wallinger is vastly under rated . Thank you Karl for a wonderful concert in Glasgow all those years ago. Thanks for uploading too Lyricallyspeaking.

  • he sounds a lot like jack white in this song

  • @WeLiveToDanceAlone jack white was a baby when world party rocked..... you are a baby and you should study more... Karl is vastly under rated and jack white WISHES he had that chutzpah

  • @micriv10 well geez it doesn't mean i don't like world party's music (which i love) i was only saying they sound similar, no dissing from me. peace.

  • one of the best albums in my collection!!

  • The soundtrack of my teen years

  • his voice reminds me of mick jagger :)

  • he is such a good song wrighter!

  • "But it seems to me you're killing all the things you love the most....

All the way down to the coast."

How very poignant given the crisis currently killing the Gulf of Mexico.

I don't wanna see - you give it all away...

    "THATS WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!"

  • one of the best bands ever love the sound and lyric's

  • "kings & queens & presidents younger than the Stones" is probably one of the most reality check lyrics I've heard, being an Eisenhower baby of '58.

  • I wonder if a cover band has ever played this? I hope so.

  • this was ahead of its time. love this whole album, bang!

  • looking forward to seeing WP at Hardly Strictly Bluegrass in San Francisco this October!

  • You won't be dissapointed, Karl is a Buddha as far as I'm concerened. Caught his show a few years back and was glad I made the 12 hour round trip.

  • It was indeed a good show. It struck me how Karl is quite a jolly guy singing about serious topics.

  • 1993 Back when there was still good music being made!

  • As good as it gets!

  • that's what i'm talking about........give it all away!

  • Very very cool. I like it :D Thanks

  • Karl is one of those cats who didn't bother to restring a right handed guitar to compensate for his left handed style. Skinny E string on top, fat E on the bottom.

  • @kolbpilot Yeah, he played it upside down. Hendrix-style.

  • @mnaran Hendrixs' guitars were strung conventionally for a left handed player even though they were upside down right hand models. Karl just took a right handed guitar, flipped it over & left the strings alone.

  • the best song they recorded. shared a beer and a j backstage with them at cambridge corn exchange. karl was very cool as i remember.way ahead o their time. great to revisit old times.

  • I have always had the greatest admiration for Karl and World party. At a time when everyone was writing superficial but likable pop songs.

They were producing the last of great revolutionary music that started in the 1960's. Personally I rate him as one of the great singer song writers of the last century.

It does not surprise me to hear that he was a cool approachable guy. I think Ship of fools sums up current events in a nut shell.

    What ever became of them?

  • I saw them in Atlanta in 2000 and summer 2007. I know it's wasn't all of them - I'll look it up. Karl was so nice and down to earth (especially when you're asking him to autograph your ticket stub!). I do need to look it up because I met three other WPs too.

  • Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very under rated band...Ahead of their time..

This song fits in today's WORLD!

    unfortunately...

  • I only know World Party from the ever great "Ship of Fools" tune which is one of my all time favorites to this day.

This is a great video (style/imagery) and thanks for posting it.

  • "Here's a list of things that one day you won't know you missed."

  • Is this a new song?

  • The song is 14 years old - the line about Presidents younger than the Stones refers to Bill Clinton. Check out the CD: Bang!

  • CD Bang is awesome

  • i've got the cd!

  • do i detect an anti-war message here? in the era of BushCo? how dare you. BE AFRAID. BE VERY AFRAID.

  • this is good. world party carl is totally underrated. got to have a brain to get it. i knew one chick who was into this "band". she has a phd. she also screwed me. two ways yep. nuthin good in it. i still like this guy but his concerts well thinly attended. not exactly DAFT PUNK. he may be the last rock songwriter.

  • It's amazing to me that this 14 year old song is still so relevant today.

  • great to see world party again!

  • taken.
