  • I'm fourteen. Heard Burnin for you, and Don't Fear the reaper on the radio. Loved the guys since. Prolly one of my favorite albums for a while now, after Fire of Unknown Origin.

  • Get Banned for what ?!?! It's great music! !!!

  • Exactly, is there a better geeetarist out there than BD....the answer is an emphatic....NO!!!!

  • "The Curse of the Hidden Mirror " is my favorite Blue Öyster Cult record since "Fire Of Unknown Origin" - But who I am kidding, all Blue Öyster Cult's albums are really nice. The band has a way of mixing hard, fast and soft music with catchy chourses like few others. And to make a record like this almost 40 years after the debut is just awesome. I really hope Blue Öyster Cult one day get the recognition they deserve!

  • First time I have heard this song, me likey.

  • BOC are GOD.

  • So ladies, fish and gentlemen, may we present to you the Keepers of Time and Space....

This track along with "Here Comes That Feeling" are my fav's. Despite the absence of Sandy Pearlman, the Oyster Boys can still put out a solid rockin' album. And without having to turn every track into a music video. Truely a class act!

  • @fudd1egab Great reply!

    Great reply!

    So, ladies fish and gentlemen......

  • I just downloaded this entire album it's the best! The songs are all so upbeat and not too hard core, BOC's best album since Heaven Forbid! Nice to see it on here good work

  • Good Song, Good Band.

  • One of my favorites off this album, but this particular version seems a bit different from the studo/album version (i.e., the vocals are more clear and almost louder than the instruments). (I'm not saying this is bad, but when bands almost always overpower vocals with instruments, this version seems kind of out of place. Still love it though!

  • I LOVE BOC!!!

I just think this song is a little light....but Buck still rips the solos like a demon from hell!!!!...:)

    BUCK FOR EVER!!!!!

  • First time listening to this song, it's good.

  • wow been enjoy boc for 30 years still like em, everyone is entitled to there own opinion ....ecept squidbait, Darwin Award, nominees.......such as,,,...well you know who you are...just enjoy the song....

  • Awesome song! Buck's voice hasn't changed at all over the years.

  • one of the best BOC songs ever imo

  • The new BOC is sort of a devolution for me.

It's all right. But nothing like Fire of Unknown Origin, and Imaginos, to name two.

  • @sinbysin666 Every albumn is different

Check on here for older stuff

You'll find music by them better than that

I prefer the original cuts to the re-makes on Imaginos

  • @yourunclehank1 I prefer the one's one Imaginos, because it's more what suited for my taste. The trippy type of songs.

But I do adore some of their earliest stuff (Wings Wetted Down etc.). But my favorite BOC era, is from Spectres, to Imaginos (skipping Mirrors).

  • One of the best tracks from this album, IMHO.

  • just cool.

  • can people not talk about philosophy and life on youtube, and enjoy the music....

  • NO THEY CANT

  • Long Live BOC

  • Ignore the idiots who say this isn't good music: they went to public school. This is a totally awesome song. It has depth of meaning and very catchy lyrics. It's good.

  • lol and you?

some rich, spoiled californian private school punk?

lol that was a bad reference

    "they went to public school"

the good shit happens at public school son

  • I'm self educated. I dropped out of school when I was 14 and educated myself. I learned more teaching myself than the State's education camps would dare teach anyone.

  • lol holy fuck

    thats alot worse

  • nate556

one thing you cant teach yourself is how to talk to people

you mention the fact you taught yourself in all of your comments dont you lol :)

and i bet "self taught" looks awfully good on a resume and a university application

  • I bet "University Application" looks awfully good in the woods I hunt my food in. Your universities are pointless and worthless in my world. Maybe if I lived in a way where that kind of education is important, but that's not how I live, so it's stupid to spend thousands of dollars accumulating tens of thousands of dollars debt for things anyone can learn at their public library.

    Enjoy your wasted college education.

  • ROFL

yea living in the woods like some hermit is the way to live

living in a nice big house with a pool in my backyard obviously doesnt measure up

the reason youre an idiot and sound the way you do is because you taught yourself

a person isnt born with infinite knowledge, but born with the ability to take in infinite knowledge

  • I don't live in the woods like a hermit, you idiot. I live in a nice small town. You see, I do this thing called "traveling" and I go into the woods, I then kill animals, and I bring them out of the woods.

You seem to think the only way a person can learn is with a teacher. You're just mad because someone obviously knows more than you, and didn't waste the same ammount of money you did.

You'd think someone pretending to be as smart as you are would type better, have better grammar.

  • correcting my grammar over youtube doesnt prove you to me smarter than me, it just shows that you have the education level of a grade 1 student, and how are you able to afford a house?

you dont "know more than me", thats highly unlikely, you obviously weren't born with infinite knowledge so its hard to believe that you have a university level of smarts

youre basing my entire knowledge on how i type on the computer, and that shows how much knowledge you lack overall

  • How do I own a house ? How do I own a computer with BB, and pay for my video games ?

I work. I work pretty hard for the things I have. I taught myself geometry, so I can do almost any kind of construction work. I also taught myself computers, so I can do any kind of computer work. I taught myself plumbing, so I can do that too. I taught myself gunsmithing and chemistry, so I can do any of that(more of a hobby, really).

That you think someone needs college and school shows the box you live in.

  • those are all blue collar jobs

dont go bragging about that, it only makes you look dumb and relates back to the fact that you have no mental intelligence, its all physical

and i highly doubt your intelligence in chemistry

you obviously cant teach yourself that, and you, being a construction worker i doubt you could even afford the materials required

  • You can make gunpowder and thermine 4 from materials found virtually anywhere. I make a substancial ammount of money just re-juicing my friends and family's car batteries. Stop telling me what I can and can't do. Who are you to impose such limits on my abilities ? Your limits are yours, and yours alone. Maybe you can't teach yourself, maybe a lot of other people can't. But I can.

  • no, see youre not explain everything, leading me to my arrogant comments

its obvious and physically impossible that someone isnt born with the general knowledge of chemistry, knowing that you can make gunpowder out of thermine and common materials

  • How are you getting that self-taught = born with ? Do you know what "self taught" means ?

  • youre obviously implying it

    explain it, then

  • Okay. Self Taught is when a person sets out to learn something on their own, without the aid of teachers. It mostly means a lot of time spent at the library reading, and definitely a lot of time thinking about things to figure them out.

For example, I taught myself Algebra. How did I teach myself algebra ? By reading about algebra. How did I learn chemisty ? By reading about chemitry.

In this day and age, you cean learn things without someone else holding your hand.

  • yea sure you can teach yourself those things i guess by reading books, i understand now

but my point is that, thats not going to get you anywhere at all

you cant give yourself "marks" and get accepted into a university and become a function member of society

sure you have jobs like gunsmithing and construction, but if you followed the educational system, you could have had a job that requires more knowledge, ie architecture or engineering

  • I'm not interested in that. I don't care much about society in general, nor do I care about standards set by other people. I don't care for bosses, nor do I want the responsibility of employees. I simply don't like other people telling me what to do, so I get by, and I actually do really well without someone else telling me how to live my life. My pride, my vanity, won't allow me to live under anyone's heel. I simply don't need a piece of paper telling me what I can and can't do.

  • the point of human life is to live a good one

    how?

our society isnt the best, so yea obviously it revolves around money, and the only way to have a good life is with money

    no money? no materialism?

youre almost considered nothing in this society

no body likes this society, not even me, but you gotta do what you gotta do

  • Why try to please a system that considers you nothing ? Why should I ? Fuck society. I'm not going to let Society decide for me what makes my life good. I'm not going to let Society decide for me if I'm successful, or happy. Society does NOT measure my worth. My family knows my worth, my friends know my worth, my girlfriend knows my worth. I don't need to please strangers, and I don't need to let them control my life.

  • i hope youre not trying to imply that im trying to "control your life"

you can complain about society all you want, but youre still going to live in it, you cant avoid it just because you dont care about it

this is how the human race grew up, similar to how you grow up

  • I surely can avoid it. Society can crumble, and I'll still be alive. Just because I live in it at times, doesn't mean I am apart of it: as you said, society counts me as nothing. I'm less than a number: I'm a decimal according to society. I don't survive and live because of society. I simply don't need it.

  • the way you think, live and survive is because of society

  • living and surviving really are the same thing now arent they

  • lol

either youre the most practical person on this planet OR youre some 11 year old kid

  • Living and surviving are not the same thing. Surviving is just trying to stay alive, not trying to enjoy a single moment; living is actually trying to enjoy your life and the fact that you are alive. Does that help, IllicitGreen?

  • i commented on hobosown comment. he is talking about the society in which we exist. survival does not apply in this context. the food we eat, the clothes we wear, all the necessities of life have been made readily available, and to think that someone has to survive in our society is an incredibly incorrect idea. and your comment crookedx disregards subsistence cultures who not only survive, albeit barely, but are are also perfectly happy with their lot in life.

  • You can survive and still enjoying life, and the fact thar you are alive, living is better yet cause you are less under pressure and more leisure time to do what you want to do.The core is happiness, you can be happy or unhappy in both circumstances

  • I can dig it.

  • "but i can"

youre not some saint, 1 in 6.3 billion people that were actually born with knowledge and was able to teach himself and be smarter than everyone

  • Did I ever say I was born with knowlege ? If I was born with knowlege..... why then would i need to learn things ? One thing you never seemed to learn in your fancy government education camps: Logic.

  • @nate556 I''m with you There is little that I can't either teach myself, or invent .All I Know is , If you think can, or think you can't , Your right .Right?

  • by "educating yourself" how are you any better than an animal?

you rely on natural instincts to survive, like you hunt your food to survive, maybe not with a stick or branch, but still basic instincts

  • Humans are just another animal. No matter how much we learn, those instincts still apply.

What is your purpose for going to college and getting smarts, then bending over half of your life for a boss as you climb the ladder making money ? For food, women, and random fun. It's a little more sophisticated than our ancestors, but whether it's a stick and a ball, or a computer game, you're still serving those basic instincts.

  • humans are not just another animal

if you think about animals, and almost every other living organism on earth, other than humans, you can see they are "programmed" to do the things they do; lions hunt, birds fly, and bacteria reproduce

unlike humans, we have the ability to do anything we want with our lives, thats what makes us different, sure technically, were animals but not at the same time

  • We are still no different than that. Ants build buildings that are on scale of our own. Cats play and have fun(and even rape eachother). Everything humans do, i can tell you an animal that does pretty much the same thing.

The only thing that really sets humans apart is our intelligence and ingenuity with tools. We've accomplished a lot, I'm not insulting us when I call us animals. But those things were still all done to serve our basic needs.

  • and the purpose of gaining knowledge is also the same

we gain knowledge because we can, i dont think you could ever teach a monkey or cougar calculus or basic arithmetics

theres no point of wasting your infinite capacity to take in knowledge just because you think the education system is a bunch of bullshit

the system isnt run by one, big shot jackass, try hundreds of thousands of people

  • well u still have an internet connection...

  • You're right. I do. I would be dead if not for internet. No one ever survived without internet before.

  • This is one of the best BOC albums. Hard to decide. Buck is amazing as always.

  • Great song on the CD, but a lot better live. Got to see them twice in 2001 when they were playing this ahead of the release of the CD. Pocket is awesome live.

  • Damn straight it is!! I sing this tune as well as Dance On Stilts, from time to time, with nary a radio in sight! hahaha

  • this song is well good im 14 years old and i think this song is amazing, well performed and sang! THANKS BOC!

  • Good song great musicians whats all the fighting about?

  • @Relivedmemories ..no fighting here..I have been listening to these guys since the early 70ts...they are very good musicians great on melodic flow and change ups

  • why would you watch this vid if you think it sucks?

  • It's a good song, but this really puts your profile at risk for suspension. D8

  • Really? Well, other people have BOC songs uploaded just like this one, and haven't been banned, so I'll give it a shot.

  • that's the spirit

  • Warners and Universal will complain to Google if you violate them...pussies!!!! ARGH!

  • @spigelwii Yeah, thanks for the upload here; and when rightsholders are intelligent, they realize that (inferior) MP3s have promotional value and encourage other sales!

But... merely "awesome"? TOTALLY AWESOME FRICKIN' AMAZINGLY GREAT AND A-#1 ... ;-)

  • No u

  • no, this music doesn't suck

  • Nice name! bocfanforever! Love Blue Oyster Cult. Mostly their Earlier stuff when it wasn't just Buck and Eric pulling all the strings.

  • I like how the biggest asses are often the ones responding to the original asses. :| at both of you.

  • well I hate to inform you pal, but you just left an assholish comment yourself, hypocrite.
