  • Mikie, are you going show us how to wire it up next time?

  • The Mighty Pump!! Every time. It only takes a couple of seconds.

  • Sorry to tell you, but all safety switches should be wired with your 24v hot. Breaking the common is poor practice and leads to alot of headaches.

  • Great video. I have found a similer device in water source heat pumps. Found it in the primary pan

  • i ALWAYS break the red to the t stat so nothing will come on then they will call you out. at least you can get a service call charge

  • I love those secondary overflow safety switches. They come with a sticker that the manufacturer says to place on the outdoor unit so a tech knows the device is installed.

For heat pump systems that use the "O" terminal, I break the call for reversing valve. For "B" terminal systems (Rheem, WeatherKing, etc.), I break "Y". For HVAC systems with a 90%+ furnace, I break "R".

Really good video. It's helpful for installers, too.

  • hahaha, break the O, that'll get you a service call in a hurry, lol. It would never have occurred to me to think of that!

    O O :>
