Love this! Jamaican culture is as beautiful as it is rich, language and culture go hand in hand. I have a Jamaican mother and an American (from South Carolina) father - best of both worlds! My patois is excellent by the way, I understood every word...thank my Jamaican Granny for that, she insisted that her American granddaughter know patois inside and out. Proud to be (50%) Jamaican!!! :o)

I'm not Jamaican..I'm from Louisiana. I guess I don't have much of a problem understanding, cause lots of people from New Orleans speak they're own sorta dialect. lol...Here in Louisiana, we have a lot of words that are different, especially in our Cajun/Creole French languages, but friends from France say they have little or no problem understanding our French patois.
