Since not one person found the solution to this, I'll help. If you are getting the problem where you can fire up the launcher but pressing play only blinks the window OR running TES5 gets you "steam_api.dll error" then you cracked and patched the wrong folder. After the initial extract of the crack into the game folder. Install and then crack and patch THE FOLDER IN YOUR PROGRAM FILES. That should fix your problems.

It comes up with the interface of Play, settings, and whatnot for when you press play. I press play, it just opens itself up AGAIN. i press play on that one, and it opens itself up again. What?

The point of this crack is so you don't need to use it through Steam. If it's showing you any kind of errors regarding Steam or Steam functions that means you either didn't install the crack correctly or didn't follow the instructions. I do agree this video is a little fast paced and confusing and I was getting all kinds of errors involving steam_api.dll, SteamUserStats, etc. but I watched it again slowly, following each step exactly, and now it runs. Make sure you follow the instructions guys.

So I'll give myself this, I first tried this process last night, fairly intoxicated. Everything completed as planned - I launch the game and it says "bethesda game studios" and then goes to the little dragon loading logo... it'll never load. No errors or anything.

Tried again today with the exact same results. Followed instructions to the T. No errors, no crashing, just never loads past that little logo. Nice loud sound when it first starts up. Just never goes anywhere. Any ideas?

@Budsweiser after some looking around seems like this is pretty common on xp sp3. might be stuck waiting for a patch, as you cant change the sample rate for your sound in xp. Ah well.

So I followed all the steps in the video and when it came time to try the SkyrimLauncher it gave me an error that it couldn't find some INI file. So then I decided to launch TESV file to see if that would work and it opened up a very small window with the game playing inside it. I decided to quit that and try the SkyrimLauncher luncher again and this time it worked the game is playing without problem.

(I installed the files to a different harddrive so maybe that was causing the issue).

@PunksterNY1 When you install it and copy the patch files over it may ask you to re-install the game. You may have missed this clicking like a crazy person telling it to replace everything. Make sure you click "The game is installed correctly" option when this happens.

I followed your directions perfectly, and the game starts, and gets all the way to the wagon scene where the wagons stop and the prisoners are supposed to get out of the wagon, but they don't get out. They just sit there. It doesn't freeze up, as I can still see the animations working, but the animations look as if the wagon were still going down the road. The game does not progress from that point. Also, there is no sound. Is anyone else having this problem?

@MrGOWBEAST I tested to see what would happen if you tried to launch the game without installing the crack, and this is the issue I got. Check to see if you installed the crack correctly (or if you installed it at all) because after I installed it, the issue went away. Good luck
