People crack me up when they try to pretend they know stuff about airlines. This guy works for United (you can tell by his uniform and badge) and is working on a 777. The two stripes represents a Flight Attendant. At United, 2 stripes are for flight attendants, 3 stripes are for First Officers, and 4 stripes are for Captains. Other people who say the know what they are talking about are crazy! lol

This guy must have been lots of fun on board..the two stripes are not for a co-pilot..and co-pilots do not do safety demo's..Some airlines have stripes for seniority amongst cabin crew. Its more common on male uniforms anyway.

He made me proud to be a former flight attendant ....for United. Safety is always our responsibiliby/. By using humor .....he got the passengers to pay attention to the crucial directions. All planes are not created equal....and its always recommended to pay attention in case there are differences that one should know about. Its always better to know the safety information and not need it than to NOT know the safety information and NEED it!

Unprofessional? He has a captive audience that most likely put away the newspaper, books,etc...and actually watched the demo.

Making sure passengers watch the demo is as professional as it gets. Plus it's obvious the man enjoys his job.

On the United wide body aircraft you have to stow your video screen during taxi. They do not have wall mounted video screens in UnitedFirst and UnitedBusiness so that is why they have to do a demo. The new United cabins have video screens that do not need to be stowed.
