Head Injuries are sooo tricky, my husband just fell and hit his head on the floor, just from standing, he had a skull fracture and ruptured ear drum, concusion, he was hospitalized for over 10 days. My boss knew a kid who died from a brain injury and his skull wasn't even broken...
@opinionatediam The skull doesn't need to be broken in order for a traumatic brain injury to occur. For instance, a concussion is a traumatic brain injury and doesn't necessarily entail a fracture or break in the skull. It's caused by the brain ricocheting off of the inside of the skull causing injury and swelling of the brain. This can be caused by a signficant blunt force impact but the skull isn't always affected.
20 years have passed since this accident so Stevie would be 25 now. Joseph was a smart boy to call 911 to get help. Kids can help in emergencies. If this or anything else happens to my mother or father I'll know what to do. I'd like it to come back on the air.
my dad and I were talking about william Shatner (Sorry for the bad spelling...) -dont ask how we get on these topics :P- and he told me about this old show. Im only 13 and I was born in 1996 so im upset this wasnt one when i was a llittle girl! this is an amazing show!
I swear to god this show had given me the ability to save my own best friends life, it was a quote I laerned from this show called "If the face is red lift the head;if the face is pale lift the tale", that taught me how to diagnose and treat my friends gunshot wound and I was told it played a large role in saving my friends life
Also I helped a friend who had a seizure and learned to open his airway and put him on his side which again, I was told helped save his life and brain
At the beginning o the show is the reason that Rescue 911 should be brought back on TV. Please everyone who enjoys watching these videos go to the site that allgood2000 has provided in his info and vote for Rescue 911 to be brought back to tv and to be released onto DVD...
@SassySweet24 there will be people who watch the show, then try things they see will sue the show and all the people with it because it didnt work for them, and all that kind of stuff will happen, but hey, thats what the screen about not trying it unless your properly trained comes in handy.
sometimes we underestimate children and their intelligence. watching this gives a reality check. i love kids and watching them take responsibility in an emergency makes my heart swell with pride
you no i totally agree if any one from redcue 911 reads this why not bring this back i think it would help all small children save some one in a case of emerg.i recommend this for all ages has well please bring this back to air we can save lots in this world..
I agree, I saved my dad in 1994 at age 10, (kidney failure) it was in rural Nebraska, took EMS 30 minutes to arrive. Luckily I saved him and knew of 911 (which had been activated less than 6 months prior to this incident) from school, I also knew the fire dept's # in Brunswick NE but knew that 911 was paramedics. This show needs to be restarted
I agree with you! I use to watch this show and a few days ago I looked up on You Tube and have been hooked on it ever since! I remember most of these eposides!
It was craziness, but to be honest with everyone, by the time I had called 911, before I was even done telling the dispatcher what happened, police and EMTs where there (we only lived 4 blocks from the hospital, and 2 blocks from the fire station)
And heres the irony for you guys, I STILL take care of my Dad. He is now in a wheelchair (not from the fall) and lives with me. It's almost 19 years later, and I'm still looking out for him. The more things change, the more this stay the same. = )
stevenwlkr is definitely the kid in this video, I work with him and I know his dad. Steve still takes care of Big Steve to this day. Very unfortunate accident, but it resulted in Little Stevie receiving G.I. Joe Real American Hero award. He will always be my hero!
Stevie was a cute kid, now he is just a taller hairier version of himself with the same big as life ears, but at least his head grew a little to match their size.
Are you kidding me?!? Unsolved Mysteries is coming back?? I used to LOVE that show, I'd forgotten about it though since I havent seen it in years! Are there DVDs of that show I wonder?
Unsolved Mysteries was a show with reenactments of unsolved crimes, missing persons, and unexplained paranormal phenomena such as alien abductions, ghosts, UFOs, and alternative history theories. It was a pretty scary show. its not on right now. but i heard its coming back on Monday, October 13, at 5 p.m., and 6 p.m. On spike tv.
I'v noticed the people always have shoes on in the house during these reenactment. I wonder if producers overlooked this, intened it or all these people would really be wearing them. I know even back then most people would be shoeless around the house that late at night.
Thats bullshit If a adult jumps off a cliff a kid will probably run away people do what they do, even people who never seen any violence can still omit to violence anyway thats a fact things go way further than you think
If an adult jumps off a cliff, a kid who hasn't had fear installed in him/her yet will jump off too - why do you think there is such a thing as a gate (or 2) for your stairs? You think they're for fun? No, they're so your kid won't fall down the stairs. As evidenced many times (even to the extent of kids copying the old tango ads and going around slapping each other), kids copy adults. It's HOW THEY LEARN and it's BASIC knowledge
Some fears are natural. I doubt a kid would jump off a cliff just because they saw an adult do it. Trying to go down the stairs requires a little less courage than jumping off a cliff.
It was probably a stunt man. It looked like they filmed him falling down at the top of the stairs, and then edited it together with the clip of him falling on the table.
My friend's cat tripped her, and she fell all the way down the basement stairs.
I was surprised she wasn't hurt at all. She was more worried about the cat than herself, but HE was fine.
Murphy, the kitty, is the most rambunctious cat I ever saw.
Another time he tore all the ornaments off the bottom of their Christmas tree.
He's got that 'wandering tom cat' syndrome. He always tries to leap out of the house whenever anybody goes to the door.
