Really? That's very disappointing (not to mention shocking)! She seems like a good all-around prospect, probably not likely to medal this year but the experience would certainly serve her well for 2010.

Do you happen to know which athletes China have chosen to send to Worlds?

Sui Lu, Jiang Yuyuan, He Kexin and Yang Yilin. They said they might make changes after the national games.

I honestly think it's a mistake to send Sui Lu instead of Huang, but it'll be interesting to see how they do anyway.

Jiang Yuyuan is now dealing with injuries and she didn't do well in the national games. I think replacing her with Huang Qiushuang would be a fabulous idea.

@sqekcx Whoever is gonna go to the worlds was basically based on the results in national championship. Huang Qiushuang made some major mistakes and wasn't in top3 so she didn't go.

apparently they said hqs had an injury on her leg so they decided to let her heal.

@sqekcx I believe if hqs had gotten top3 in AA he would have gone to london.(AA top3: deng linlin, yang yilin, sui lu) In the news, she didn't say anything about the leg injury. Athough she was very upset that she couldn't make it to 09 worlds.

@sqekcx Well... I dunno how serious her injury was if she UPGRADED her routine for the event finals at nationals, doing even more difficulty. She certainly looked like she was capable of competing despite the injury.

After a bit more polishing, I can see this gymnast take the Chinese gymnastics team far! She has a spunk to her that I like but I'm not too fond of her actual FX routine. It's not exciting but her landings/dismounts are fantastic!
