  • Praise God for this and other Paul Baloche videos!

  • Its great to hear what not to do and what to do by Paul Baloche. Sharing from his gifts, talents abilities and knowledge.

  • Words to live by! Good stuff! Thanks! Praise on!

  • lol the funny thing is, even when they were describing "how not to do it", they still sounded great :)

  • hi there. just wanna ask where to find midi files in Paul Baloche's official site?thank you and God Bless.

  • So not to be the one that notices the negative but lol did u notice that the "worship" in the title is spelled wrong? haha but other than that, great video and very important and useful info :)

  • I enjoy these workshops. Lifelong guitarist 40+ years. Don't even remember how many bands. This is great advise for ALL musicians who strive to be [part] of a [band]. Great teaching on humility - a must have attitude for any who want to stand in front and lead others . . . in anything.

  • music philosophy - he is right. Plot. Emotion - motion, without motion - there is no way you can get your soul attached with what is going on. Funny though, when using hip hop and hard metal rock music, more on driving or forcing a person getting into something - like a bit of possessing with music. Then again, the smooth type of music is pretty sneaky too, without anyone realized they already in something. What is that ecstasy feelings, oh...have your heard of hormones released, makes us feels

  • this is teaching how to not actually worship. enter in to God the way you want to, the way God tells you to. you don't need a workshop.

  • @bbhw08 you know what? they're teaching the right thing. if you really want to worship the Lord with all your heart then you will play skillfully or excellently for the Lord, if you can't play that way then you ask God to teach you how to play skillfully and excellently for Him. Learn to gather skills from other people who is playing skillfully. don't just stick on your own ability, you have more to learn and i believe God wants you to. God bless you brother!

  • so i'm not actually worshiping unless i follow a guidline? i'm not actually worshiping unless the music is boring and stock? this is the reason why people don't listen to christian music and why people like you haven't experienced real worship. there's no feeling. there's no worship or conviction. and i know how to play "skillfully" but i highly doubt you do. so keep "worshiping" like this (again this isn't real worship) if you want to "brother" i'll keep really worshiping God.

  • you see? please read back your reply.. you're angry or what, im just explaining to you brother and you're judging me already. you see if you're really a worshiper you won't reply that way ("why people like you haven't experienced real worship. there's no feeling. there's no worship or conviction. and i know how to play skillfully but i highly doubt you do") yeah you're right i don't but God made me play skillfully not my own bro. God bless you and Jesus loves you!

  • @john050205 I just kind of get into reading these comments, and that guy is just full of pride and thinking they know-it-all. My guess is they are in their mid-twenties to mid-thirties, because that is the age group that majority are brain-washed with the "self-esteem crab". They are the same people who ignore Scripture about teachings and learnings, and think that because they are intelligent, EVERYONE should think like them, and no one is better than anyone else so no one can teach anyone else

  • Yes you're right CL4KFL.

  • Yes you're right CL4KFL! i'm also in my mid 20's but i think i have more to learn and bbhw08 has a lot to learn too but he's just got a big big pride in him. let's pray for this brother. God bless you all!

  • I am just wondering if you just naturally know how to talk or someone actually teach you? Why is worship any different? If you are against teaching, then you are against the whole New Testament...wait..the WHOLE BIBLE. God cannot use someone who's only focus is on them doing whatever they please. Also, you are implying that Paul just dreamt up these things, and they are not from God. Are you sure you are listening to god in the way you worship and not yourself?

  • guys it's got nothing to do with pride. i'm not trying to convey any pride at all. my point is, i was taught how to play a musical instrument. i shouldn't be taught how to worship. when i play, i feel the closest to God. if i am confined to some kind of method to make people worship, then i don't connect. worship shouldn't be a formula. it's not a genre. it's not even music. it's a way of living. this, to me, just seems like what's wrong with most churches. if you disagree, cool.

  • @bbhw08 You are right up to a point but see one of the roles of a worship team(Just like a worship leader) is to lead the congregation in worship and to back the leader of cours. Worshiping God while in the team comes in secondary, As such its difficult to lead others if the team is not organized or they dont have a plan. I feel there should be a balance of being lead by the spirit and following something predifined. Just my thoughts.

  • i didn't mean there to be anger or whatever. i'm just passionate and have very strong opinions that come from experiences with worship. i hate to see people follow criteria. but anyway, thanks for the prayer, it's really helped. the past week has been really difficult. God bless you guys. sorry for the YouTube drama haha :)

  • BBHW08, it is fine that when you play you feel closer to God, but the video is not about that. It's about LEADING OTHERS in worshiping God in a worship service. When you are solely focused on playing the way you feel closer to God, and that's all that matter, then, unfortunately, you have become selfish and self-centered. I know that's not your intention, but that what it would be if you ignore the needs of others in the same room/hall/sanctuary.

  • Maybe the point of the video has been lost. It appears to be a video containing pointers from someone gifting & experience on how to set up a team of musicians/ worshippers. Not teaching to worship but teaching them not to be a distraction to the ones they're attempting to lead.

  • All this to say ...I believe in the Spirit of God leading us but I also believe in advice & preperation. If we lay a foundation and learn to gel then we operate in peace then we won't be worried about all the little things. That in my opinion is what assist us to be more perceptive to the Spirit's leading. Its just being prepared and as a leader helping to build people up and help unlock their full potental.

  • Gibson

  • Awesome video! I hope to be like him someday. By the way, it took me a while to notice too, but does anyone else realize that worship is spelt wrong in the title? The video is still awesome though. Praise God!

  • hey when they showed the not how to do it part, they still sound good.haha

  • dang.... even on the "how not to do it " part (where he sings all lazy ... XD)

STILL SOUNDS AMAZING !!!! XD HAHAHAHA

  • what if you have a drummer who's always "crashing" lol

  • Tell him, "a little less tricks, a little more practice." :)

  • Excellent workshop! Learning to play music with a worship team is a lot like learning to speak a new language... you have to spend some time listening first; learn some basic grammar (i.e. verse, chorus, bridge, chords, etc.); slowly join in conversations (i.e. the songs) taking correction and guidance along the way, until you're able to communicate effectively and effortlessly...

  • is it good to play along with a metronome in a worship song?

  • of course, if ur band members don't have enough experience.

  • I would say leave it to the leader. If it is a new song, sure, just so that everyone is on track with the speed, but the leader should be the one setting the speed, and everyone follow the leader, and not a machine (their focus will be on that little tick-tock and not the leader in flow, emotion, dynamic, etc.

  • i've learned so much from his workshops hehe..

  • whats the guitar hes using?

  • looks to be a taylor

  • im pretty sure its not a taylor, im not sure what it is exactly.

  • its not a Taylor....not the right headstock...not sure what it is though!!

  • HAHa. Paul is dead on with the whole full on thing going on in alot of worship bands. That was so funny. When you understand and use these tools he is teaching....things will be much better.

  • God Bless all of you !!! Thanks very much !

  • I love this. I learned a lot from your workshop seeing it here on youtube. I dream of being a worship leader someday. God willing. God Bless

  • THANKS PAUL and team !!! You are an inspiration to many worship songwriters and worship leaders! I praise God for you !

  • What is great about Baloche is that he offers his gifts, like this teaching, lyrics, chord charts, midi files, on his web site and he gives it freely. What a blessing that is. Thank you Paul.

  • Good stuff - great advice. Is it easy to correct the typo in the title though?

  • mmm, roast beef. praise the lord.

  • thanks fot this it was really good simple teaching praise god.

  • Absolutely right!!!!

    I lov tis teaching..

  • I love worship especially when its done with passion. I think this was a good teaching method vid.

  • I firmly believe that roast beef has nothing to do with worship music.

  • These DVDS are great! Once we started implementing these ideas at our church, our worship was transformed. They are truly beneficial, and I would recommend them to anyone wanting to improve. Check out leadworship'com if you're interested!

  • Lenny LeBlanc wrote above all....Dont matter though, its all for him!

  • Actually it was a fifty/fifty co-write between the two of them! But you're right, it is all for God :)

  • Y'all do realize if you click on the name of the poster it takes you to their profile, right? I'm not Michael W. Smith. I'm just a regular guy who happens to think Paul is great.

  • Paul is one of the worlds leading worship songwriters. This video is just a sample of what a great teacher he is as well. "God Songs" is his must-have book for any worship leader.
