  • Lol at 1:43 the car rolled forward a little when he was demonstrating the gearshift. Btw I love that speedometer!

  • 1985 with LCD Gauges can't bet that.

  • His 2 favorite words are "modest" and "shall we"

    Love the videos

  • His camera is more advanced than that piece of garbage could ever be

  • its all most dead

  • was hoping it was stick shift :(

  • very attractive car, how can someone now in all seriousness claim that a mercedes or a bmw from the same era actually looked better. the 80s certainly did have some rather questionable cars but these T-Birds were truly shiny high points of that era and clearly stood out. as subjective a matter looks in general is, but there no doubt in my opinion here.

stellar clip/review by Kyle... as always.

    greetings from germany. :)

  • Beautiful Car!

  • I have more miles on my car that i bought new in 2009.

  • The mercury equivalent was called the Cougar

  • So if this is called the Thunderbird, does that mean it's Mercury twin vehicle is the Firefox?

    lol

  • ..and I like where the American cars are going these days - Chevy Ford & Chrysler are revisiting prior themes from the '60's & 70's.

  • @Wotan, when I think of 1970's muscle cars '69/70 Camaros, the Trans Am, Buick GS/ GSX & MOPAR Cuda, Roadrunner,GTX, '70 Monte Carlo '77 Caprice ; I see some stars. They had the embargo/gas crisis, Fed CAFE rules & they made fun cars. The '80's =Gran Nationals , rest of excitement came from Germany: BMW 3 Series, the E-Class benz, Porsche (anything). I LOVE AMERICAN CARS! '57 - '65 Belair, '50's caddies, '65-'72 GTO's, '64 Riviera, '67 FWD Eldo/ Toro, '69-70 Camaros,'50s-70's Vette, etc

  • Nice!

  • the transmission on the 1983-1988 Ford Thunderbird

    Transmission

    4-speed automatic

    5-speed manual

  • This is why I love your channel, everything from modern Supercars to reviews of cars I have fond memories of growing up.

  • I WISH I WAS AT YOUR PARKING LOT

FROM AARON SMITH WHO LIVES IN ENGLAND

    TO SAAB KYLE.

  • LOL! Old school luxury!

  • Comment removed

  • 2:38 Damn Kyle, did you gain weight? Lol.

  • @DrJohnBecker LMAO!

  • This makes me miss my 88 with the 302.

  • dear santa

  • This car has a beautiful exhaust sound! I only like the sound of some V6's. I like the 3.8, and the 3.5 V6 that is in my moms 06' Impala. Nice review! Thumbs up and faved!

  • @wheely132 my grandma had this same car but hers was black, she didn't know what an oil change was and had the car for 20 years and it still ran when she sold it

  • @Rarrin9378 HEy Ryan! did ya know you were talkin to me?? Haha, nice man! I like these cars

  • Kyle It Is Nice But I Saw That Gmc Suburban White Looks Like A 89 2:22 Any Chance Of A Tour Ol It Looks Kind Of Odd.

  • my uncle had one of these in the 80's and totaled it racing, he said it was awesome though

  • personally id rather have the cougar version of this car

  • power windows in '85??

  • can u review the 2012 infiniti g37 sport

  • how about the roadmaster in the background at 0:41 that looks like it deserves a video

  • @Tr3ySw4g I believe that is Kyle's (the reviewer). There are videos of it.

  • @Tr3ySw4g look it up on his channel

  • would look awesome with the half or full vinyl roof, but still clean none the less

  • great looking car;;

  • Just want to make a modest comment. Is "modest" your new favorite word?

  • Great Video Kyle! When this body style came out in 1983, it was a major departure from most american car styling of the time and was considered VERY aerodynamic. In fact, it was in a Thunderbird of this body style that Bill Elliott set the fastest qualifying lap in NASCAR history, over 212mph at Talladega!

  • do the aerosatar in the back

  • Buddy, I love the variety and keep on doing the old ones to but I you have to admit, you were struggling for things to talk about on this one weren't you, it was very bare internally.

  • I think she still looks like a grand old dame closing in on 30

  • I remember thinking these cars were so sharp back in the day. No now they just look so dated. It's in damn good shape though.

  • Great shape for a '85

  • I used to have an '86 model like this one as my first car, too bad it's previous owners didn't keep it up as good as owners of this car.

  • I simply love american cars! They are sooooo AMERICAN! LOL

Thanks for sharing, Kyle. Keep rocking!

  • The previous owner kept this car in great condition. You don't find many older model vehicles with low miles around.

  • nice ride..!! tis car is a piece of art.. older cars always hv tis character tt stood out among the newer ones..

  • I love these videos of the older cars.

  • @schomminater thumbs up if you are agree with him too

  • A girl I went to high school with had a navy blue one, always wasn't sure why she kept it.... Anyways nice job kyle. But could you do a tour of that silver Integra in the background:D

  • Turbo or not this is nice car and I'm not too much of a Ford guy.

  • dam mad props kyle i love this year of the tbird turbo or not its amazing

  • too bad its not a turbo coupe :(

  • PLEASE do a toyota matrix

  • Have you done any videos on Gmc ?

  • LOL at the R-racing floor mats.

  • nice I guess back in 85... but for todays standard its crap.

  • Kyle today is the 26th! wheres the video!?

  • Looks like a rapists car.

  • This ever come with a V-8?

  • @volkswagenaustin03 yes they did come with a V-8 and it was just a little better.

  • Didn't know this generation of Thunderbird still had column shift gear selector.

  • My dad used to own a t-bird like this, i loved that car!!

  • Doesnt really do anything well, but for some reason I kinda like it

  • I have 82 Ford Thunderbird Town Landau. With 4.2 V8 and Automatic Overdrive transmission.

I love it! Its a great car.

  • Hey Kyle, you think you could get hold of the new Porsche 911? (991) :)

  • yuck

  • My interpretation and other elements of scenery, which you can fit to this Thunderbird:

music: Glenn Frey - You belong to the city [Miami Vice OST]

    time: night

    stuff: red Marlboro

    Enjoy and hands up! :D

  • The E Class was even much more powerful.

  • Equivalent Mercedes E Class was better back then.

  • @abdoelfarhan obviously a Mercedes is better than a Ford

  • What a fabulous period piece :)

  • It's cool how you find so many low-mileage examples of older cars that people seem to forget about. These types are probably my favorite.

  • Can you do more Lamborghini's, Audi's, Pagani's, Cheve, Ford, and if you can a Saleen?

  • please do that integra?

  • My sister had a venture just like the one in the back behind this thunderbird.

  • Do a 1993 Dodge Intrepid ES please !

  • Did not fire right up

  • an '85 with digital speedo?

  • I like the older cars vanity mirrors!

  • It's pretty obvious that the success that Ford was having in Nascar at the time with the likes of Bill Elliott and Cale Yarborough behind the wheel of their Thunderbirds didn't carry over to this particular Thunderbird in the performance department.

  • Would be OK with a 302, decent Ford rims, and leather seats.

  • My mom had the previous generation model of this car and the door sounded exactly the same as this one when it opened and it had almost the same hubcaps. Hers had the v8 with 150hp. Lol

  • The best version of this car is the Turbo Coupe

  • @saabkyle04, you said power windows twice

  • Need to shoot the SC version of the same car, Much better example,

  • Love this generation of the Thunderbird

  • that car is so 80's

  • Looks like a Chrysler in and out to me for some reason.

  • Can you do a video on the new Audi Q7 or 2010 Acura MDX (highest model) please. :)

    Keep up the good work!

  • can u take a vid of that explorer ?

  • Not a bad car, looks pretty good for its age too. Personally I've always liked Cougars better, they had better styling I thought. But this is a nice looking car.

  • Hey kyle, can you do the chevrolet Venture or Ford Aerostar van?

  • I really liked the interior on these cars, but I personally liked the Cougars better because the back window was different. I wish they would have continued putting the 5.0's in these but they quit around 84 I believe. the 3.8's just sucked. But I still like this car, I don't get why people hate It.

  • Sometimes power isn't always the answer for a car. Sure it may lack! But what's more important is that if it's running and it gets you from point A to point B that is all that matters.

  • Does that cupholder come standard?

  • Shut up you haters I bet you were not much good at 1985 either... Or even born yet which is worse.

  • @MrPowertorque

Sorry was a tad harsh but im sick of ignorant comments as a lot has changed since from the 80's. At least Kyle is showing something different in his videos. If you don't like it dont buy the car simple...

  • @MrPowertorque

    Is this your car? lol

  • 120 hp? DANG, I thought my 4runner's 3.0 power output was low at 145. wow

  • It's a Ford Thunderchicken!!!

  • It's a Ford Thunderchicken!!!

  • That car looks like it is mint condition! I like it!

  • While there were some exceptions, the 1980's is best summed up as the "Dark Ages" of American automotive history. All of the big three and many of the import makers shoveled out some real junk.. think Buick Somerset, Chevy Citation, etc. Not many of then will cross the stage at the the 2030 mecum auctions or any future Concours event.

  • @huff21960 The only American car I like from the 80s was the Buick Grand National because of it's performance and style. To this day I still love them.

  • @huff21960 It's an interesting theory. To me it's the '70s which qualify for the 'Dark Ages'. The '80s for me when a few rays of hope shine through that darkness. What you see developing in the '80's, is an industry which is finally overcoming internal inertia, in order to embark on a gigantic transition. The motley and many times unloved model lineup of the '80s, reflects on that condition.

  • @huff21960 I know what you mean. My grandparents had a 1981 Citation, TOTAL PIECE OF JUNK! Always having problems with the breaks! It lasted 11 years with 135,000 miles on it when it was finally gotten rid of the electrical system died on it. Some of the wires dried and cracked.

  • I have to admit 80's American cars were pretty ugly, but cool nonetheless.

  • please do more of these big old american cars!!

  • 45 on the highway! Hahaha unexpected.

  • my Focus makes more horsepower

  • Ford radios have always sucked. I have a 2007 Taurus and the radio suck in it too. The radios are better than they use to be, but they still suck. I remember when it was hard to read the face in Ford radios. The face was either very dim or missing some lines to spell the readout. Ford should work on this, but I am assume the radios in Mustangs are much better.

  • Amazing to think some of the features were cutting edge. A digital speedometer, now the whole instrument cluster is a video display. My how things have advanced.

  • and ford thought this would beat the corvette...

  • wowy shes beautiful!

  • Gay

  • You gotta get the Aerostar in the background!

  • my friends brother had a cougar that looked just like that, haha it had a huge rust hole in the side but it was a good car.

  • YES old crappy beaters!

  • 120 horsepower?! wow how terrible, but the 205 lb/ft makes up for it, 0-60 in 10.9? thats just sad...

  • @BasketballBiggy25 Remember dude, this was when there was an oil crisis or something.

  • @BasketballBiggy25 oh, and 10 Seconds was quick for an average car then.

Unlike now when everyone says. ``5 seconds or more!?. What a slow piece of shit!."

  • @BasketballBiggy25 For 1985, that 0-60 isn't terrible for a car of this style

  • @BasketballBiggy25 120hp is bad? My '91 Chevy gets 95!

  • @BasketballBiggy25 this was in 1985 dude thats kinda fast for that generation

  • @BasketballBiggy25 Haha it is a yank tank you can't expect much

  • Comment removed

  • @BasketballBiggy25 And it's even sadder when you get to think: "3.8-liter engine, and only 120 HP??" It just sounds crazy, per today's standards... =)

  • @BasketballBiggy25 really hope you're being sarcastic when you say 205 torque makes up for it....because it clearly doesn't

  • @BasketballBiggy25 1985 buddy

  • @BasketballBiggy25 keep in mind this car is from 1985. Not 2011.

  • @BasketballBiggy25 would you shut the fuck up? I think most of Europe and Asia CURRENTLY drive around in vehicles with around 120hp.

  • @BasketballBiggy25 Well you do have to consider the fact that this car weighs over 3,000 pounds.

  • could you do a 2007 ford focus? :]

  • You should do a video of the Aerostar in the background.

  • Please find a DeLorean and review it! That'd make my life!

  • Wow, beautiful vee-hee-kel.

  • nice

  • nice thunderbird. And it was very nice of them to let you film it considering that it's privately owned. Also, as a long-time subscriber, I remember Quinn's Covenant Cars along with another one called "Big Dog Motors" also in Monroe, NC on your channel. It sure has been a while since you've filmed there. I remember in 2010 as I was watching your vids, I was so accustomed to hearing you say "I'm at Quinn's Covenant Cars/Brandon Reeves Auto World/Big Dog Motors in Monroe, North Carolina"

  • Kyle can u do a review on the 2012 Audi R8 ? Please

  • Hey kyle can u do a 2012 audi r8?

  • I think Kyle would make those videos in DVD's.That would be great DVD pack. Thumbs up if you agree. :)

  • @SupraStar29 That's a great idea

  • @SupraStar29 he is a pharmacy student, I doubt he could afford to

  • @saabkyle04 hey kyle nice vid hey could you do a video on that integra please thanks

  • my dad had a 94 thunderbird with the 4.6 auto it was fun motor an transmission all stock it did 17 seconds in the 1/4 mile

  • Wow, so that's how they should look? I don't even remember them looking that good brand new! When you opened the trunk, you should have sad, "The trunk has a modest amount of space. Room enough for all this stuff!"

  • Wow! Only 120 HP for a V6! Now they all have over 250 HP!

  • I wish Ford made a new Thunderbird SC.

  • whats that white old car in your every video? is it yours, saabkyle04?)

  • @Zakkerone Yeah thats his car he has a vid of it on his chanell

  • i would sell this and buy a hotdog

  • Wow it's been a long time since you've visited Quinn's.

  • My Dad had a 94 Thunderbird. Piece of crap that thing. Over the course of 8 years it developed transmission problems, computer problems, despite great care the paint faded and interior fell apart, A/C leaked freon and various suspension problems. It did hold up well however when a U-Haul truck crashed into it and kept Dad safe.

  • OMG! It does not have that annoying beep sound when you open a door! :O

  • @loger00 I know!

  • I have always loved these cars. It's rare to still find a nice one!

  • What a piece of fail

  • I didn't even know about this generation Thunderbird. Maybe because i am from '91

  • What a cool find! I wish Ford still made a more practical 2 door alternative to the Mustang. I'd love to see a Fusion Coupe in the future.

  • Very Very Nice for a car its age.

  • Nice Thunderbird. I've always liked these cars and it's nice to see people taking good care of them.

  • Man, I remember these..especially the Thunderbird turbo. I wanted one so bad. Now, I guess, I could have one!!

  • I really miss the big and soft seats! Too bad they're not part of *luxury* in today's cars...

  • The original MSRP for this vehicle was $10,249. WOW! That's was cheap.

  • @mikerules666 because it's a piece of shit

  • should have did a review of that silver Acura Inegra on black wheels in the background !!

  • i like your attention to details

  • Ooohh damn!!!..

Leg room can also be a bitch..!!!

These are all bloopers from this video!!

    XD

  • saw one of these today (gothenburg, sweden) white, in great condition, loved that v8 rumble it had ! =)

  • wondering how much they were asking for it....dont wanna buy it just curious.

  • LOL on the Christian music station. Must be an employee of the "covenant" car dealership. LOL
