They are real', caused by lighting, or static charge in the clouds like lighting,I have seen others on youtube. Very rare. Plasma balls of electricity that form a bubble and then go out. This i do for a living, and i tell you flares dont shoot up into the clouds, the go from anything to 40-70 meters up.
