  • He's so good but sound is a little hollow.

  • one of the best interpretations of the cadenza on the piano i've ever heard. Look out Rubinstein!

  • Stephen Bishop, 1970 recorded performance:

    watch?v=kpeCTT38iP8

    thanks and all the best

  • who the hell is polaying the french horn. Is it suppost to be like that?

  • this movement was not nearly as good! the piano was great but the orchestra was bad! The cor anglais needed a lot of practice! great piano...unfortunately the orchestra ruined my favorite movement

  • at least nobody clapped between the movements.

  • That's not half bad!

  • yes, it's such a shame

  • You need a good orchestra !!

  • the orchestra is terrible!!!! grieg would kill himself, if he could hear this!

  • WOW, one can be truly jealous of your abilities. It makes it even more impressive that you are obviously only a "hobby player". GREAT! I wish I could play this one time.

  • i still cant believe you were in high school when you did this! its a bitch of piece and you performed it basically flawlessly.

  • VERY IMPRESSIVE! BRAVO!! It's very hard to believe this is a school orchestra. You don't mention which school -- high school or college? Your youthful appearance certainly belies the depth and maturity you bring to your playing. Good luck to you for a successful career.

  • You need to play with people that are at your level man, good job!

  • yea man! your orchestra almost screwed the ending! play with a accompanist pianist!!!! at the rate your going your gonna be known WORLDWIDE!

  • pianist is excellent. Clearly edited soundtrack a little to cover up a mistake in the candenza (you can hear a missing note then a pop). Still, pianist is excellent. Strings are also good. Someone needs to tell the horn section to stop getting high during rehearsal.

  • even though your comment was a long while ago, i stil have to raise this point. He did NOT edit the soundtrack. There were pops in the WHOLE part 1, 2 and 3. Even after the pops you could hear small little mistakes.

  • Wow can i find sheet-music for at least the beginning part of this? I love the sound here. and GREAT JOB!!!

  • That's awesome...........

  • That was stunning.

  • Astounding playing

  • Well done. Love the ending of the 1st mov.

  • Professional!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What is your name? how old are you? How long have you been playing? It sbrilliant

  • I'm 20, I've been playing for 12 years now... But began to practice really often very late (16-17years...)

  • fantastic job!! Ive been wanting ot play this song and started teaching myself this year. any advice?

  • whizname7

What a superb performnce by this high school

orchestra. This very talented pianist has a

wonderful future ahead of him. Bravo!!!

  • Is this you playing?

  • jep...

  • You are a magnificent pianist. I first heard this piece played by Artur Rubenstein. You are up there with him. A great inspiration for all aspiring pianists. Thank you!

  • Perfect! =)

The horn and clarinet really sucked.

The thing that I didn't like about the Adagio part that it's supposed to be much more slower than what you did... But not your fault, I guess...

  • Some people say "tempo is relevant," and his adagio is adagio enough compared to the main tempo.

  • I agree, I like the playing of ytkRisS a lot, he is very talented, but I would like it better if it were slower. When it's slower it touches you more than when it's faster. Anyway that's my humble opinion but I also like this way... ytkRisS, keep up to good work!

  • Agreed. Very kick-ass, bold, takes-no-prisoners. My benchmark for this is Ignacz Friedmann. Maybe YtkRisS will hear Ulugbek Palvanov and Weissenberg's interpretation of Rach 2 Concerto, and give that a whirl, too. Bravo

  • Aah.... Zurich.... so you live nearby Bernt Haas!!! Say hello to him. You are great with the piano!! I mean it, just love you! Again.... you where born to play piano, keep!! Bart, The Netherlands.

  • I am so stupid.... I meant keep playing so we can all enjoy!!

  • this is very good. you just have to tell your frend with the horn to practice some more ;). No seriously, I've seen Leif Ove Andsnes doing this with Griegs own orchestra, The Bergen Philharmonic (or whatever they're called in english), and this is actually very good by my standards! Keep up the good work ;)

  • Zurich, Switzerland.

  • WHere are you from? Some nice things here,,

  • ytk, if you aren't pro. already you should be! Incredible.

  • Someone should relieve that horn player. He and first clarinet absolutely destroyed this otherwise exceptional recording.

  • Fantastic ! You are one of the stars of youtube ! I accidentally gave you 4 stars when I meant to give you 5. Sorry about that.

  • hehe no problem, I don't care much about ratings, but much more about comments! thanks, I feel very coaxed :)

  • Luscious!

  • beautiful cadenza!

  • I'm speechless. That cadenza... Thanks
