So I've just started listening to Brother Ali's music and I have to say that I have become a huge fan. As a soldier in the US military, though, I am just sort of confused about some of his lyrics and references to the military/war. Anyone have any insight or views on this?
@KRavenBaby67 Seems like he's a lot more critical of the governments choices to engage than the soldiers. Everyone owes you a thanks for serving. God bless.
@KRavenBaby67 I think he's exploring the motivations behind many of the soldiers in the military. He is also speaking out against US foreign policy that considers murder as a practical means to achieve our goals in the world. Lots of great, insightful and pro-peace lines in this song! Which lines confuse you?
@KRavenBaby67 What Ali brings up is why our country is in danger. We all know that rich Americans have been raping us for a while now. But they perfected those tactics overseas before being able to do it so unnoticed to a populace that can reach them. It's been a long history of colonial control slowly turning to economic control. I hope that doesn't sound like I'm saying your service and the lives lost were in vain, but maybe killing the people angry at us isn't the answer. We need to fix us.
we are anonymous, we are aware of the corruption in the world's governments and their apathy for the human lives because of money.
we are aware of the governments' attempt to cover on the news of the rebellions to keep us as slaves for the current system.
we are anonymous, we declare war on the corrupted system, join the plan to get your freedom and rights back. you are a human being, your life has value. we are anonymous, we are legion, expect us!
"You clinically crazy if you think you can pay me a figure that could make me slay these innocent babies"
one of the smoothest , cleanest lines Brother Ali has ever spit...perfectly on beat, perfect syllabic construction...and ill honest content. Mind blowing

@glass509 Really? The line is originally from Public Enemy's "Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos" from the album "It takes a nation of millions to hold us back" LOL
@toneriggz i'm so sick of people sending me comments over this stupid shit. i wasn't even born when public enemy was rapping, first of all...second of all, ugk did use that line in "aint that a bitch" and brother ali says with the same dictation, tempo, and everything. so yeh lets all lol and hahahahahaha over it, as long as it makes you feel smarter...
@kottyking Allah is the same God of Judaism and Christianity... the God of Abraham, the only difference is the distinction of Ishmael as the chosen son, rather than Isaac.

That's not a UGK line. Public Enemy said it in 1987. Ali and Chuck D are friends, he didn't bite it for the sake of biting a hot line.
