  • I found Krishnan disturbing...I can't quite put my finger on why, but I really did. Interesting programme.

  • dat Krishna boys voice is so annoying

  • only let in 1, thats sick

  • they actually let 3 in! sadly 1 who made it in turned down the scholarship so only 2 went through..

  • @Liquadia ., lol oh 3, that is so much better

  • Gosh this show basically outlines my educational years, i was mega clever but way too poor to go to any private school etc!!! I think more chances should be given to people in these situations.

  • doesn't this program kinda show won of the underlying social problems in the UK? meaning the still strong isolation between social classes. not taking anything away from Harrow but inteliigence and capability ar only partly determined by one's schooling.

  • My college, St Dominics Sixth Form College, practically right next door to Harrow Boys school and I have in fact visited Harrow boys school thrice... trust me Harrow Boys is not that amazing!

  • @SeungYeonLove... why does it matter If no-one has heard of her school? The point I assume she is trying to make is that the schooling fee of a school does not determine how happy you will be in that school, neither will it somehow change your 'class' i.e. first class, middle class or working class!!

  • Thats cos ur an illegal immigrant you fuck

  • @windowmm how am I an illegal immigrant? It seems that you are from this unknown school because you seem to be defending it. Maybe, if you had some proper education from a proper school, you would know what it means. Come back to me when you've had some education.

  • That brightest kid talks funny and just look into his eyes as he talk, he talks better than David camreon.

  • places like harrow can be very miserable if you don't really fit in with that kind of vibe.

the boys who lose this competition might end up happier and more fulfilled.

  • Bullshit, why would you want to be turned into a faggot?

  • It's interesting to note that, when I defend and speak on behalf of the disadvantaged, poor and down trodden in society, I expose and bring out the nasty remarks from the defenders of the rich scum. I get this on most forums where I defend the poor. It is no surprise to me and it just makes me more determined to be the voice for the poor and weak against these vocal manipulatory twisting terrorists. Most rich people would rather poor people died. I choose to be their vanguard. Bring it on.

  • Have fun but the rich wil still have a better life than you which you cant accept.

  • That is where you are so wrong. A very large % of rich people are very unhappy. When they reveal their true feelings you'll find that there's 'always something missing'. In a wicked kind of way, I quite like this. It's like a punishment for their greed.

Let's be clear, I have nothing against everyone that's rich. It's the ones who use it to down tread the poor and, fuel inequalities in society by maintaining their stronghold via their offspring having ability to distort education with money.

  • Will not wil : )

  • you see that is where ur problem lies. why do u insult others because they were fortunate to be born ino a well off family or have been successful, it isnt their fault. ur either jealous or probably very angry

  • Richard Armitage narrating, OMG.

He could narrate the phone book and make it sexy.

  • Anyone know what the music is?

  • Grammar schools are fine. You can go there and get straight A/A*s fairly easily.

  • nice vid.

If only I went to such a good school I might have gotten better grades..lol

  • have any of u actually attended a good school

  • one may argue that schools such as Harrow and Eton aren't so special. If this is the case look at the combined number of Prime Ministers Harrow and Eton have produced- I think you will find it exceeds 25

furthermore, if you look at which schools the 20 richest people in the UK attended, you will find 5 went to Harrow and 3 to Eton

  • @blantyreboy1 And look at the state of Britain as a result!

  • @Topdoginuk it wouldn't be like this if people like you stopped complaining about the rich and powerful and actually did something with your life.

  • I see you've done a lot in your life! Well, i see you joined Youtube yesterday and, you come on here and spout a load of nonsense in support of the true scum. The rich know no limits to their greed and evil ways. They typify and fuel the divide in society and in many ways they are worse than terrorists because they screw lives into poverty via their domination and indifferent attitudes. I make no apology at attacking these kind of scum.

  • @Topdoginuk

    u must really be poor

  • Yeah, that's what I expect shallow minded people to ask. They are predictable and presumptuous like you.

What is 'poor' by the way?

There's a good song that was sung by Dolly Parton caled 'Coat Of Many Colours' years ago. That song is as relevant today as then. It's a song that wealthy people wouldn't understand because they misunderstand the poetry of life and, they are denied the concept of contentment by their very own cloud of undeminishing wanting of power and greed.

  • you obviously were never accepted as a child, why do you hate everyone? don't take out your feelings of failure on others

  • What is very stupid statement! Now let me guess, you are either very well off, a privately educated nob, have parents of the 'higher order', or just plain cantankerous. Take a step back and do try think out of the box. One day you may see reality. But then you're probably one of the usual 'hang 'em and flog 'em' brigade.

  • This is absolute Stopit:

Great Scientist, Inventor, Mostly Came Greate people stuyding in normal schools.

    Private School is Business.

The world is full of talent. It is not Priavte School it is you it self make the normal school and High *** School in the World.

  • stupid rich people

do people honestly think being in a private school will make any difference to a student or childs academic performance???

    its up to the individual

people are just aswell off going to a regular public school !

  • @MrPaperCup

If only that were true, eventhough private school pupils make up only 7% of children in the country.

They make up to 50% of Oxford and Cambridge's intake annually...

So I think these parents are spot on in acknowledging the advantage conferred by an independent school education.

That advantage continues in terms of work and employment..

  • @nograviti You seem to miss the whole point of society. Your last sentence: 'That advantage continues in terms of work and employment'' is just depicts what's wrong with society.

If we take a look at the advantages conferred to individuals if their parents are affluent then, we can deduce that they will be cherry picked for acceptance even if this is morally wrong. This is all part & parcel of the ills in inequality & driven by the selfish gene agenda. When advantage continues, it causes hate.

  • @Top We all chose this society, otherwise we would look like Scandinavian societies.

British people didnt really react when both MPs and Bankers robbed them blind. So what can you do?

Even the coming general election. I hate Brown, but I would never vote for Cameron. Why would I want a continuation of the misguided (Thatcherite) economics & social policy that made this highly unfair society.

Lastly, Affluence like it or not, is to a degree, largely a product of gd ole HARD WORK

  • MrPaperCup I think you just got pwned (by the way Harrow is a public school) double pwnage!

  • get that indian kid around some other children FAST! I bet he isn't even allowed working class friends so he'll grow up with no humility and won't have any 'roundedness' to his nature, his programmed/assumed 'plumness' will soon annoy his peers and contemporaries and it won't be long before he's teased with "so what does your dad do?" or "so how many houses/property/horses/businesses do you own?" he'll soon see he's not part of that world either and it will be hard to cope with, c'mon parents!!

  • Comment removed

  • @Top I would agree with you to a degree, the system is unfair. But you have to just play the game.

My wife is swedish and over there any local school is a good school. Some rich people still go private, but for little advantage. The key thing is that the middle class kids go to state school, so their pushy parents push standards.

In Britain, middle class kids go to grammar school or private schools. The only way to fix the system is to force em back into the state system. V. Unlikely

  • You can't force people to go to state school come on, people should decide how they spend their money and if public school makes them happy what's wrond with that :)

  • @naf Not sure why you gave my point a thumbs down.

Look if you want a continuation of this highly divided & unfair society, then u accept the status quo.

Although I defend the ambition of the kids in this doc & their right to pursue a better education.

I wouldnt defend the system, the fact that 7% of kids make up to 50% of top uni intake isnt fair. Success is being bought.

Fact is all studies have shown, inequitable societies are less happy ones. Just go to Sweden & c 4 yourself

  • are you jealous of your sis... lol

    just kidding :P

  • Comment removed

  • @nafisaah

I think your right because he is only trying to cover up his own insecurities about what he missed out on or more he can't afford..

  • I loved this documentary.

At least these kids are not all out into getting ASBOs. A good education is all what they are after, so please what is wrong with that? It doesn't make them or their parents bad people

  • are u a qadyani?

  • DJVinneh

sums it up perfectly, a state school gives you the chance to work beside dickheads, something you are going to encountre inn the real world. and what happens to these kids when they want to go to oxford? get another millionaire to pay for them?

  • oh my gawd, those uniforms look absolutely RIDICULOUS :O

  • education should be free to all and not charged., if its not, there is something wrong.

  • They tuk our jerrrrrrrrbs!

  • @OurPaulie4591 Being British is about where your born not what colour your skin is. I'm white british, I work for a Turkish Muslim. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't have a job. He pay's me more than the average for the area we live. Skin colour don't mean jack s***.

  • @skatrip

    Too right

  • Comment removed

  • As for white people being a minority in the U.K, please support your argument with hard evidence. I am a qualified lawyer and will gladly challenge you to a debate over this anyday :)

  • It's a boys school only. Bad luck guys. probably better though, no girls to distract them.

  • Shut up Rowan u smell

  • do I? You have special talents, being able to smell people you don't know. I can see you don't or didn't attend a very good school. Probably you were dragged up from the slums.

    I don't know.

But you are very unpleasant. And obviously ignorant.

  • hahaha!!!!!!!!!!!

  • God, those school uniforms are disgusting.

  • whats your greatest achievement? The boy is like 9 yrs old, my greatest achievement at that age was my lvl 100 Pikachu!

  • @BenjiMC1

LMFAO!! it was charizard for me

  • haha back in the day me and my boys used to egg the living shit out of this school full of bunch of rich wankers! every guy in london who went private skools majority are NOBS

  • zeegooner- not only are you jealous and pathetic , but can't spell either. let me guess, you are now in a crap job because you spend your time doing that, very wise

  • looking forward the watching this program but we must remember not every succesful indevidual was educated at a private school many success story's came from humble beginings like alan sugar he is now extreemly wealthy ''''''lol''''''

  • I wish i got this channel... I wish I had one of those hats.

  • i know there prob not but they look so stuck up in those silly outfits. i mean seriously is it really necessary to wear them. get with the times u just look ridiculous.

  • I would love to see the whole programme but I live in Greece. Would someone please post the whole programme for me to see.

    Thanks

  • stupid looking hats

  • What about Eton?

  • The same scum are produced at Eton.

  • Worse even.

  • @Jack and TopDog, Sour Grapes anyone...? LOL

  • on the advert that kids like "would you like to see my Shakespeare collection", cracks me up.

  • disgustingly large number of toffs

  • rofl at poor people crying....... WAWAWAWA!!!!!!! LMFAO LOSERS

  • well this should be interesting.

  • i won't be watching this , i might have to throw something at the telly !

  • Public schools have never harmed me... well... generally speaking. I have met a few horrid characters so far in my education, and I bet there are the same at this place.

  • That is so cruel.. to do that to little kids.

    And why no girls?

Makes me sick to my stomach.

  • Becase we live in a world where girls are viewed as less important. Nothing has changed sadly.

  • if I was in that school back in the day n wearing those clothes I feel like such a nob

  • Poor kids. It does sound like a good idea to offer scholarships, but like Topdoginuk says, it's a ridiculous idea. I know someone who goes to private school on a scholarship, she studies the hardest in her class... yet the kids who can afford the fees look down on her and tend to get better grades than her, when they have pretty mediocre abilities otherwise...

  • you are just poor m8 deal with it

  • Not poor. Better educated. The school's reputation means nothing, I went to a fairly crap secondary, but ended up with very good grades. It also gives you an education in the school of hard knocks - you don't get everything you want, and you have to work hard, as well as learn to get along with people who are (gasp) below your station! Presuming you are private-schooled person, that is.

The idea of these children being asked these university interview-style questions is ridiculous...

  • No it is just that they are clever.

Anyway you are just jeaous because you can never get and they will.

What job do you have because I bet a everyone there will earn more in a month than you will in a lifetime.

    Food for thought..............

  • Learn to spell. And perhaps take a leaf out of your own book.

    food for thought........

  • O______________O

  • 'Socially Engineered' into arrogant, stuck-up, know -alls, that enter into politics and law and, use their new found literary manipulatory domination to down tread the less fortunate. They know nothing of the meaning of the word 'altruism', nor do they have any regard for fellow man. They come out with one purpose and, an ethos of 'greed is good'.

Who the hell wants more of this type of scum entering the world? Not me.

  • I would agree with most of your statements but I don't think that it is greed that is the motivator in this instance; it is power and entitlement that drives the system.

  • topdoginuk : you speak the truth. you summed up everything that i was thinking !

  • Everything you said was spot on. I watched the episode...and I was like wwoooppps more arrogance in the world. LOL at like a God with a small g....who the hell made that scholarship dude handing out money GOD ! Haha changing people's destiny and future. You don't even know if ur gna be alive the next day or not. Anyway...it was disturbing to watch. I'm all for education but not this SYSTEM !

  • I'm sure if you or your child had the opportunity you wouldn't be saying that. The medicine is sweet when you're the one tasting it :)

  • @nafisaahmedidotcom Streamlining students by financial ability is not conducive to a harmonious society. If attending these elite 'rich boys clubs' were to produce decent citizens that inspire hope in others, then we'd welcome them but, they don't. I refer you to my previous posting.

If I was a Billionaire I wouldn't send my child to one of these stuck up cesspits that fuel a social 'class' divide.

Medicine is a last resort and, the 'sweet taste' is to mask the bitter potent ingredients.

  • WOW UR SO right

    respect !

  • @Topdog

Your an idiot, keep chewing on those Sour Grapes I hope they taste good.

In all societies there has been a rich and poor. It is up to you what you make of yourself. If these parents and kids want more for themselves more power to them.

I was Tumi essentially and now am pretty successful. Anyone could have followed the path I took.

As for less fortunate, do you mean the people who have kids too early, criminally prone & no work ethic. Im sorry but I have little sympathy.

  • @nograiti That's a typical remark to expect from the likes of people like you. Calling me an 'idiot' shows how low you are.

I can see from your response that you are of the self righteous clan and, you attempt to stereotype a certain 'class' of people as 'losers' if they have children, are 'criminally minded' and have 'no work ethic'.

It's the greedy selfish rich who are the cause of most of societies ills and inequalities and no hope. It's the pompous snobs who are todays true terrorists.

  • @topdog fuckface.

You are just jealous because you are poor and dirty whilst they are not.

  • @windowmm What a stupid presumptuous remark!

For your info. I'm as rich as I wanna be. I'm okay for money but, most importantly, I'm happy with who I am, what I do. I share & care, I am not greedy, I like to expose the rich scum in society because I see them as worse than terrorists because they screw millions of lives, I'm proud to hate MPs, Bankers & Lords, I hate unrestrained capitalism because it's the root of all evil.

I live my life knowing the evil selfish gene controls most people.

  • it isn't just the rich who are greedy, how many benefits frauds and cheats are there??? oh and who pays for them- the rich

  • Here we go again, just another one of those so called 'hard working' numpties that consider everyone on benefit is a fraud. How pathetic and narrow minded U R. There are 8 million people in the UK out of work. Then I suppose they're all low lifes sponging on your taxes and fiddling the state 'benefits'? Get a life and wake up to reality. It's the rich who put people out of work. It's unrestrained capitalism that allows predatory domination by the rich. The rich are the true criminal scum.

  • I understand your point but I' afraid I don't agree. Just because a person is rich and able to afford better things you can't tarnish them all with the same brush and say they are all arrogant because for example, why does the rich millionnaire gentleman pay for poorer kids to have this opportunity, I mean at the end of the day, he doesn't have to but he does it out of the good will of being a decent RICH human being, am I wrong?

  • If U watch chan 4s 'The Secret Millionaire', U will notice that these people don't actually give any of their capital. They're spending unearned interest. It's seems that people have to become millionaires b4 they reach the 'guilt stage'. They then go on a egoistic crusade to get lots of attention for spending their bank interest on the 'low-life' unfortunates.

I've mentioned this to Channel 4 and I hope they will curb this manipulation by the rich 4 their soap box PR stunt (Public Relations)

  • A true measure for altruistic acts is to first recognise that if a person is receiving a lucrative remuneration of millions, as opposed to a person on a miserly wage of £150 per week, then it's clear that the rich dude is likely to have much surplus after outgoings. We can clearly see that when a rich person receives a 5% increase on income based on his remuneration, he will gain far greater an amount in real terms than the low earner. It's called compound wealth gain & fuels inequality.

  • so where would you send your son?? to a state school where everyone knew that he came from such a financially superior family?? he would be bullied and never accepted- that would cause social divide
