As a kid, I built a wooden go-kart with the help of my Dad and it was the beginning of my life as a petrolhead. Thanks to his position at the NHS, Ward Snr. was able to bag a set of wheels with integral bearings which made my kart the fastest on my street. Many races were had and won until a spate of thefts left me without wheels. I'm not kidding - me and several mates had our wooden karts stolen!
