In America about 1500 new cases are discovered each year. Animals that are the victims of hoarders suffer, and often die from terrible conditions. They live day after day in filth. These dogs usually don’t have access to adequate food, water and can often times live in inches of filth. Pets often die from constant exposure to feces, and the strong Oder of ammonia from pet urine.
She said they dont themselves recognize the condition and they wanna hide the condition. How do you deliberately hide something and not know your hiding it?
No...nothing has changed...he is the SAME way today as he was the day they took the animals...he still steals donations, and has a board..its made up of his friends all of which he gives part of his donations too..and he even has a pig inside his house now on top of the dogs that havent died...I HAD TO MOVE THO, Just recently...I couldn't do it anymore, he has moved on to abusing neighborhood children, verbally..Law enforcement wont do anything, The animals were given back to him after the trial
@mpismith79 Are you talking about the children of the apartment across his house? Other neighbors are a little bit away from his place and some of those neighbors ask Bruce to board their dogs while they are away. Anyway, if anybody lives in that place with his/her children, it is already a child abuse!! I do not mean Bruce is a saint, but anybody who is able to live in that apartment should be as crazy as or crazier than he is.
@PERUANO31 Actually, he is originally from an upper upper-class family. So perhaps he does not care too much about the ordinary people, including the reporter.
There should be laws everywhere that you cannot have 80 animals living with you unless you have sufficient room and a permit for having this many animals.
This heartless bastard is probably spending the donations on himself and using the animals as a cover to collect free handouts. Seriously, what kind of person would rip away animals from loving families when they were being abused and eaten alive by worms and maggots at they're house. An animal lover? I think not. This man needs to be committed and fast.
How frigin disgusting!!!! So many places like this.... People like this SHOULD be charged with animal cruelty and should be banned from EVER having animals in their home again....
I live across the street from this man Bruce, and everything this woman said is so true, these animals are so abused and its stinks. The SPCA had to give him the animals back due to logistics of a case. It is rediculous. He even has an actual pig that lives in the house now, goats outside, everything and he hardly takes the dogs out all you hear is the barking constantly...ITS REDICULOUS...
people who hoard animals were neglected severly as a child so much so that the form emotional similar to the bond between brothers sisters parents they become attached like a 4 year old so if they can hoard animals then objects they talk and form emotional bonds with cups and plates so they can have the love they never got
The news lady says anyone can set up a non profit and then solicit the public for donations without any oversight, but that's not true. If you want to set up a tax deductible non profit, then you have to have a board which is responsible for oversight.
Animal hoarding is a sad situation for both the people who try to "save" the animals and the animals themselves. People who hoard start out with good intentions but end up giving very little care to the animals they are saving. So the next time you hear an animal as being "safe", are they truly safe or is the animal ending up with an "Animal Hoarder".
the sad thing is... is animal hoarders really do love animals.. but they take so many on they cant care for them... it is very sad.. a horrible sickness
REPLY TO susiehelton: Because you are a living witness to this "slobs life", then DO something...I don't mean to come on hard on you, but you KNOW those pups are being neglected, while this guy collects cheques!!! You also have a right to exist in a community - stench "free!!". Make a move, even if silent, just DO IT! Those dogs will be forever in your favour! And if you want any help, I'm here as I am a cat lover, but more...an animal lover...(from Canada) ... peace.
Someone Needs to investaget HSUS ,PETA and SPCA they all get Money and it does not go where they say its goes. They Kill animals and want to abolish our pets. They use the money to pass bad laws working into tha agenda. Make us all vegans plus pet free
thats actually true about peta.their goal is to have no pets, not even seeing eye dogs.last year out of thousands of animals in perfect health given to them, only 4 were rehomed.they have ties with a known fbi terrorist organization too
This guy lives down the road from my friend and trust me he is no saint. The place is so filthy you can smell the stench from several houses down the road. His animals are FILTHY and sickly and honestly I think he should be jailed for what he has done to these animals. This guy is MENTALLY ILL and needs help and his animals need to be taken away IMMEDIATELY.
This report is very biased. While many people consider any SPCA as an animal rescuer, but not this Ulster one. They have had so many cases of "mishandling money." Most SPCA people in this news left from that. Surprisingly in the past, they asked Bruce to adopt animals; he declined as they demanded him the adoption fees.
Moreover, the reporter did not talk with Bruce's vet. The reporter did a very lousy job. While Bruce may not be a saint, the Ulster SPCA seems shadier than he is.
The community needs to pass laws limiting the number of domestic animals that can reside in one home. Many areas limit to three in the city limits. Even in counties kennel licenses should be required for having over a certain number of domestic pets so that inspection is required and penalties available to stop neglect and cruelty. Legislation at the state, county, and city levels is needed.
This is when we should step in and the control of these innocent creatures. The idea that this man has any rights after what he has done is totally insane.
This is so sad that we continue to let these people get away with this. We have failed these creatures and just about every creature that is forced to live in these conditions. We should be ashame of ourselves!
Actually not at all him...but if you have a problem with the "smell" that your greyhound noise so intellectually can place to his animals as opposed to the dump next door, than why dont you confront the situation like an adult as opposed to simply being disgruntled online..
True, but Ive lived here for several years and know people dont just come and go as they want in his home..so not sure how your so familiar with how the animals are. I just know that I see his response to the animals and they are always out and in throughout the day, and Bruce is always doing feeding throughout the day..but Im sure you are an expert of other peoples neighbors as you said you know bruce better...hmm
Because I took care of his animals after the raid and saw the condition they were in first hand. I saw the filth they obviously lived in, the animals were disgusting.

This news story was absolutely crazy, I live near Bruce, and KNOW for a fact how well he cares for these animals. And Im a prior 7 year veteran of the military and know that cleanliness means happiness...Bruce works 24/7to provide care and comfort for these animals.

OMG This is why you never donate to rescues without a thorough inspection. Don't just give money and support. Visit. Ask questions.
