thats a nice lookin place i would love to go someday and learn about my past and family as i am a scarborough my self looks alot nicer than oklahoma usa LOL
once held the world record tuna fish, back in the 1930s..my dad met me mam there married there, they owned valentes ice cream,my dad played football for scarbrough back in the 40s.....love scarbrough (aunty barbara)
Nice images of my hometown in its heyday would have been great to have seen westborough and newborough as they were and to compare how much the character of the town has been lost due to modernisation. Such a shame when you walk down the high street to realise what a loss the old Rowntrees debenhams building was and so many others.
Its wonderful to see some of the old structures. I wonder if our pathetic civic/council organisation would have had the foresight to build Marine Drive nowadays.
I would like to find out more about the Grand Hotel which I believe used to extend right down to the beach level in the past but the lower levels are now bricked up and inaccessible
The titles are obtrusive - couldn't you have put them below the pictures? My Granddad was born in Scarborough and would have been there when the pictures were made.
brilliant...as a keen photo taker now....wish i was about in these days....no council tax,no cars its amazing to think i have stood were others have. im proud to be from this town cheers for this

I agree, Dadrino. If I did it again, I'd use a lot smaller font and more subtle. This was one of my first editing attempts last year.
