For the first time ever I have to say you gave bad advice.I think something has to be said for people who convert from Catholicism. I'm non-religious,so this doesn't affect me, however I do go to a Catholic school and know a lot about it.
There is not a 'death penalty' for turning your back on Catholicism like there is for Islam,however you are supposedly 'marked' or something, although this will vary from church to church. You should truly dedicate yourself to a religion, not flitas you please

I would suggest that you maybe tell your best friend that you are feeling like this and that you need their help and they will definitely, if they are your true friend, help you and try to make you feel better.

You should most likely talk to a therapist because this is serious!

@1997loveally Im yhur age and my parents yell at me to. When i feel like just blowing up on them i talk to my friends first. We talk about things and they comfort me. Yhu should talk to someone because this is serious, if yhur parents treat yhu so horribly something needs to be done quickly before something more tragic happens. Cutting isnt a way to solve anything, to be honest it makes the problem worse. But i would tell a counsler at school as soon as possible
@1997loveally i feel the same, my parents yell at me if i dont bring them something on time and i always feel bad. If you think about it, cutiing yourself just makes you feel worse. Instead talk to friends, write down your feelings, or have a rampage on your pillow. Each of those help me. To Daniela, I think your concern may be whether in the future he'll expect you to perform certain sexual acts that you may not be comfortable doing or whether your lack (if that is the case) of experience/ virginity will affect your relationship. as for Megan, Sorority is NOT for everyone and there can be drama (but not always). But if you're not sure GO THROUGH RUSH and see what you think. I know in my sorority that we've had girls realize halfway through pledging that it wasn't for them and they dropped out. If you did pledge and then drop out your two friends might treat you differently but that's only if THEY"RE NOT YOUR TRUE FRIENDS but the friends of mine that have realized that it wasn't for them, we're still great friends. :)

To Amber I am 19 years old. I've been studying up on Wicca pretty much since I could read. My dad is also against Wicca . I got some more books maybe some of your dad's religion along with Wicca books and just try to explain to him that a lot of religious customs came from the Wicca/Paganism religion such as Easter which is known to Pagans as Ostera. A lot of the holidays celebrate the exact same thing as Christian religions do they just use different names for Jesus and the God and or Goddess.
The problem with adults no matter who or how intelligent is the way they are raised. if your father was raised to see everything one way and to consider something else taboo then i dont see any way getting through to him. but be sure to certify that you are NOT worshipng the devil because that seems to be the biggest issue. on the other side you dont have to talk to him about religon at all, for instance i don't tell my parents who i like, its my buisness. i hope i helped.

We quite often get bits on the news or in the papers that make reference to what percentage of the UK population is religious, it's always tied into some other story rather than being the focus.
They cite these figures as if they are absolute truth and sadly we get stuffed with ridiculous laws because of them - Blasphemy laws, Sunday trading laws, mandatory school prayers and the like.
Yet when you speak to people you find that these numbers are simply incorrect, the majority of people tick the box they have always ticked - whatever religion they had as children.
They don't pray, got to church and they don't follow any of their religions traditions (Christmas & Easter being the obvious exceptions...Oh presents!).
Quite a lot of them do believe in some form of higher power, it's not the Christian God but that's still the box they would tick.
Sadly the fact that a lot of people agree with you (probably more don't, but still belive in some sort of supernatural pish) is irrelevant as the vast majority of peoplpe belive what ever they are told & don't bother to think for them selves.
being easily influenced does not mean that you are mature. Your multi-religous tangent is evidence of this, because i can pretty safely say that all religions are based on the sole worship and belief in that religion's god or gods. and only that religions god/gods. you cant believe in many religion's God/gods because it contradicts each religions struction and the entire concept of faith.

Dear Buck, My name is Allison and I'm 12 years old. The past year I have been cutting myself on my legs, wrists, and torso. I'm also suicidal. My parents yell at me a lot for simple things and make me feel worthless. I need help but I'm afraid if I tell my mom she might get mad and punish me which will only make things worse. She helped me and pulled me out of the dark. I would suggest that you maybe tell your best friend that you are feeling like this and that you need their help and they will definitely, if they are your true friend, help you and try to make you feel better.

1. I would tell my dad first cause then he can calm her down and make her understand that its not your fault etc.
You should most likely talk to a therapist because this is serious!
2. It's not your fault your parents are yelling at you, there is nothing wrong with you and maybe you should just tell your parents how it makes you feel.
And i doubt that any mother would punish her child for wanting to seek help

Yhu should talk to someone because this is serious, if yhur parents treat yhu so horribly something needs to be done quickly before something more tragic happens. @1997loveally i feel the same, my parents yell at me if i dont bring them something on time and i always feel bad. If you think about it, cutiing yourself just makes you feel worse. Instead talk to friends, write down your feelings, or have a rampage on your pillow. Each of those help me. You shouldn't be scared of your mom punishing you because if you just tell her how you really feel maybe she will understand.

To Daniela, I think your concern may be whether in the future he'll expect you to perform certain sexual acts that you may not be comfortable doing or whether your lack (if that is the case) of experience/ virginity will affect your relationship. Yes, it true some guys may be shallow and may only look for the physical aspect of a relationship. However, if he is willing to wait and doesn't mind your virginity/or lack of certain experiences he's had than maybe all you need to do if talk to him.

I'm thirteen years hold and have bigger hips than all of my friends and I am constantly getting teased about it. It really knocks my self confidence, I'm not fat, yet people still tease me for having big hips. It doesn't help that my mom is very slim. @jenpaxton I just read this and thank you so much! One of the girls in the sorority has been quite pushy about pledging, which is completely turning me off to giving it a shot. Time management is a great point to bring up. I completely need my own alone time and space, and being in a sorority would definitely take a lot of that away from me. as for Megan, Sorority is NOT for everyone and there can be drama (but not always). But if you're not sure GO THROUGH RUSH and see what you think. I know in my sorority that we've had girls realize halfway through pledging that it wasn't for them and they dropped out. If you did pledge and then drop out your two friends might treat you differently but that's only if THEY"RE NOT YOUR TRUE FRIENDS but the friends of mine that have realized that it wasn't for them, we're still great friends. :)

To Amber I am 19 years old. I've been studying up on Wicca pretty much since I could read. My dad is also against Wicca . I got some more books maybe some of your dad's religion along with Wicca books and just try to explain to him that a lot of religious customs came from the Wicca/Paganism religion such as Easter which is known to Pagans as Ostera. A lot of the holidays celebrate the exact same thing as Christian religions do they just use different names for Jesus and the God and or Goddess.

Yet when you speak to people you find that these numbers are simply incorrect, the majority of people tick the box they have always ticked - whatever religion they had as children.
They don't pray, got to church and they don't follow any of their religions traditions (Christmas & Easter being the obvious exceptions...Oh presents!).
Quite a lot of them do believe in some form of higher power, it's not the Christian God but that's still the box they would tick.

being easily influenced does not mean that you are mature. Your multi-religous tangent is evidence of this, because i can pretty safely say that all religions are based on the sole worship and belief in that religion's god or gods. and only that religions god/gods. you cant believe in many religion's God/gods because it contradicts each religions struction and the entire concept of faith.

@deadinchrist how in the world do you know she is "being easily influenced" by other people and their religions? maybe she's OPEN-MINDED and RECEPTIVE to other beliefs and has combined what she has learned from other religions to what she personally believes.

Hmmmmmmm......I'll keep this in mind. I always thought they were somewhat the same. If you look at all of the 3 major religions, its like filling in the missing gaps. And, I'm not as easily influenced as you think I am. If I was, then I would be set on one religion. I'm just considerate to people who are different than me and I respect the differences. It's not like I believe in them fully. I just say that some aspects of each are good to believe for daily life.

Megan: If you want to just rush there is no obligation to stay in, and while pledge is a more serious commitment, it's not the end all. Every sorority is different and it's an opportunity to meet some great people. Just do what you're comfortable with and you'll be just fine! :)

To Dan, it appears you're having trust issues with your boyfriend. Just because he doesn't really want to take it further with you does not mean he doesn't love you. It just means he respects you. My boyfriend and I are the same way. He's not a virgin and I am, and we've decided to wait. I used to have the same problem but when he explained the emotional complications that come along with sexual activities, I truly understood. Your boyfriend cares so much about you and you shouldn't be worried.

I don't understand why these anti-gay christian extremists always voice such disrespectful and utterly embarrassing for me. Now I am a christian but I don't really care about who you are/what you do. If you're confident in what you believe in then you shouldn't have to shove your believes down people's throats because you're insecure about what you believe. Danielle, I think you should not bring it up. I know how u feel but most likely he has put that out of his head. Dan: i know how you feel. my boyfriend apparently did oral with his ex - but his ex is someone from my school who would gladly lie to break us up. so i bring it up to see if he is lying or not. he brings up mine as well. we are both paranoid and nosey. he said he only fingered her but she said they did everything but sex. i wanted to know who was lying so i asked him.

Hey, I'm a wicken, and my parents are cool with it. Of course, I'm 13 and they think I'm pretending, but I found some things in the religion to prove that I love it. Also, I go to church with them on Sunday to make them happy, so maybe you and your dad can find a compromise.
