As I'm sure you're aware, if you're a Nellie McKay fan, she is a huge supporter of gay rights... so by using the word "gay" to mean "stupid" or "bad" or whatever, you are going against one of her strongest beliefs. I'm sure she wouldn't be too thrilled with you.
