i work for a monument company in central illinois and i go to this cemetery and set stones almost daily and i have never had any indication that the place is haunted. i wish it was but it's not, thats my take on it anyways.
i have been there soooooo many times at night time some times allll night till the sun rises only had 3 experiences where iv heard things or seen things
When I went, the iron fence was really tall (back in 95/96). My friends and I climbed it and when I went over it, an iron rod went up the back of my winter coat (it was about midnight and about 5 degrees out!) and I was hanging on the fence through my coat. It was so hilarious. But the cemetery was scary. There were some gun shots we heard and screams from a ways away (there are a lot of devil worshippers there - well there were at that time anyway).
Look to everyone thinking this place is haunted is a goon cause I have ran meters set cameras and nothing has been caught a few orbs but u can get orbs anywhere and no offense to anyone I'm just saying me and my team CIPS took a whole week in this place pecks cem is the best one in central Illinois but good luck getting in there and old union outside of kenny is also good u see dogs running at you and they go behind tombs and disappear
@Imorf1 I don't know about your group or you man, but no professional team speaks like that. It's a lack of knowledge about the paranormal that leads to statements like that. Just because a particular person or team didn't experience it, doesn't mean it's not capable of happening to another. I can tell you my group TRBPS has gathered great evidence from Greenwood. We have personal ties to Peck as well, and only one of two teams allowed in there to investigate.
I don't buy all the stories. I've been there many times, both day and night. It's a beautiful place and should be preserved and hallowed. However, besides just "having a creepy feeling", I've never had any solid experiences or captured any solid proof of paranormal activity. Maybe I'm just intimidating to the restless spirits:)
@rossandtiff well until you atually have a REAL paranormal investigation here, as I have, it's really hard to say whether you believe or don't. Couple weeks ago my paranormal group T.R.B.P.S captured an apparition, possibly that of the greenwood bride here. It looks like a woman wearing a wedding gown...My group also captured an apparition in the Power's section about a year ago. @ILLINOISFURY No, haven't done any REAL paranormal investigating...I guess. I've only been out about an hour per time. Not saying the place is not haunted. Just haven't witnessed anything solid. I've had the chills there in the summertime. Once, I heard a strange rustling on the ground while I was in the heart of the cemetery. I just know you have to be careful not to let your eyes or ears play tricks on you. There is a lot of noise contamination popping in from the city surrounds.
i just went there today and my friend saw a man in a blue shirt and when she looked back at the same spot after she had just turned for a second he was gone
I used to deliver pizzas for the Pizza Factory, and the caretakers for this place were regular customers. Their house was just inside the main gate. During the day, it was no big deal, but when I delivered at night, I got the distinct feeling that something didn't want me there, and I got in and out as quickly as I could.
