Nice design. I use a pond basket. I like your atrium gate idea better. I bult a stand for mine and put a faucet toward the bottom of the barrel. I didn't think to put in an overflow. Thanks for the great ideas.

You should warn about plastic residue from the drilling and sawing. This residue can clog your gate valve. Wash it out!!
