@samk1101 : Unfortunately, the genius guitarist in this film Zal Yanovski passed away several years ago. He is the 'Zal' out of 'Zal and Denny' as immortilized in the song 'Creeque Alley' by the Mamas and Papas.
It is beautiful outside! This song is what was going on, March 19, of 1967 on the Ed Sullivan Show!
Today this song is perfect for the weather and the way I feel. I am going to finish working and go for a walk on the beach with Liza and her 7 month old Anhalise!
To pretty to stay in and to pretty not to take advantage of it!!
Spring is here! Go Enjoy yourself with family and Friends!!
I highly doubt you have ever been right about anything in your minuscule life... You don't know a whole lot about much of anything do you? (Completely rhetorical of course)
I was blowing bubbles with my 1 year old and thought of this song so I started singing it. My parents were great enough to let me grow up with this song and many other great ones. Now I'm 20 - 21 this year - and I'm going to bring my daughter up with this music - I believe in magic <3
@SeansNekoGirl ur situation is a little like wit me, my dad brought me up listenin to old classics like lovin spoonful, manhatan tranfr , the beatles, nd mor. when i hav kids i'll problay do de same nd show dem oldies but goodies
lmao. I totally was amazed when the band dissappeared and a puppy showed up~! MAN, wish I was born in the sixties...now thats where all the fun was at!
Not easy to make an autoharp look cool! Great band. Great song. Pretty cool video for the mid-1960s, with color no less!
Most bands had to lip sync on the TV appearances due to lack of technology to mic and mix them right. They usually sang live over the taped original instrumental tracks.
does anyone know what guitar zonowsky is using? i believe it's some sort of gibson ( pre- firebird ) or another firebird model, but i don't know, hope anyone else does :)
Watch closely, Zal, like members of Paul Revere and the Raiders and other bands who were forced to lip-synch at the time, give little indications of their frustration . . . and still can't kill the joy!
Ironically, there is a nifty ending tacked on, never heard on the radio.
Zal Yanovsky and John Sebastian...and I saw it when it was first broadcast. Tell me, how many other times have you seen a guy play autoharp in a rock band? LOL
This is a yet another great song that the Family Channel singers ruined. Seriously, are there any Family Channel singers that haven't done a remake of this?
I thought the same thing when I saw the original broadcast. Also was generally disappointed that they were lip-synching. Despite all that, it's still a great song by a great songwriter, and it's better than nothing. Interesting little coda tagged on; may have been how they ended it in concert.
i think aly and aj and selena gomez kinda ruined this song. disney id remaking all the good 80's songs and most of them suck! (miley cyrus - girls just wanna have fun, raven symone- under the sea from the little mermaid are a few examples)
