Yes this is in the northern Six Counties, all postboxes there are painted red while those in the south are painted green.
There are postboxes in the south from before 1916 - many were destroyed or had the British Crown removed. Others, still have the crown on them but have been painted over with green paint.

And one final point, ethnic identity is not the same skin colour or race. Hence, many different ethnic groups can have the same colour skin. Hence you can find hundreds of different ethnicities in Africa, many with prejudices against eachother, who superficially appear to be from the same 'black African' race.

Clearly you haven't noticed that "white Irish" is classified as an ethnic group in the same way as any other ethnic group, including "white British". When you single out a specific ethnic group or nationality and make prejudiced derogatory comments about that entire group of people, then you are racist. If the only way you can argue your views is to use insults and racism, then you have a problem.

"white Irish" is an ethnic group, like any other ethnic group. Obviously you haven't noticed the official British classifications of ethnic groups. Regardless of whether you believe yourself to be racist or not, your comments and beliefs are bigoted and deeply prejudiced against an entire ethnic group of people for no other reason than they belong to that ethnic group or nationality. Therefore you are a racist. Btw, I'm not Irish, but your comments just reaffirm your bigotry.

"White Irish" is a sop to people in the British Isles who regard themselves as Irish rather than British. There is no "Scots White" or "Welsh White" or "English White". When people are so trivial that they paint post boxes green it's understandable why the term "White Irish" has arisen to appease such people. They are of no different ethnic origin than others in the British Isles, as DNA analysis has proven. They are simply a different politico-social-economic nation of the same ethnic origin.

Whether you recognise the classification "white Irish" or not, does not deter from the fact that you have made bigoted and prejudiced generalisations about an entire nation of people based solely on your personal judgment of the actions of a few people. The term "White Irish" identifies the ethnic grouping of white Irish people. The race is identified by "white" and the nationality is identified by "Irish". As they are white they are of exactly the same race as "White British" and "White Other". You opened this exchange with the allegation of racism, and continue to do so, but any comment about the Irish can not, by definition, be racist. It is alarming that a supporter/member of Amnesty is equal parts arrogant and ignorant.

Perhaps as an American you're not familiar with race relations and ethnic subtleties in Europe, but your comments would be considered racist in Britain as well as Ireland and alot of other countries.

I am very familiar with British standards having attended University there and am aware of European dimension as I currently live and work there. I am also aware of the bigoted attitude of the Irish towards the Brits on long-gone, centuries-old issues that are in the past. I am aware of American irreverence towards Canadians, French towards Belgians, German towards Poles, Aussies towards Kiwis, etc. None of these are "racist" despite you getting into a silly emotional lather about it. They are irreverent remarks pointing out national traits that are typical of that nation. The behaviour portrayed in this video is simply stupid, asinine, pointless and divisive. Pointing out that typical illogicality and bone-headed stupidity is not racist atall. When the Duke of Edinburgh refered to the Chinese as "slitty eyed" he was being racist as he was making a derogatory remark based on racial characteristics. When US white supremacists promote anti-black policies they are being racist. When Hitler promoted the Aryan race and persecuted the Jews he was being racist. "White Irish"? In fairness at this time, there is hardly need for definition of the Irish as "White", now is there? We have a minority of other colours yeah, but we are hardly at the stage where one needs to assert just which section of Irish people they are talking about, colour-wise

The global sterotype of the Irish is of illogical statements and/or behavior. I saw a comedian in NY who made jokes in that vein. The Irish comedian Dave Allen made jokes about the Irish. He wasn't being "racist" or all the silly whinings you wheel out here. Dave Allen said himself how he was baffled by the Irish when he went back to visit family. The KKK are racist. Hitler was racist. These comments aren't racist - they're pointing out characteristic Irish behavior. Get off your podium.

Your ignorance knows no depth. The OED states: "Irish bull: ludicrously illogical statement". Irish jokes are commonplace that portray Irish people as short on the uptake. Much of Irish comedians' material like Dave Allen contains jokes at the expense of Irish illogic. It is not my "prejudiced perception or racism" it is a well-documented, well-established characteristic of the Irish that is well known. What kind of a sheltered upbringing have you had?
