  • @DrmrGuy1979

    Or something...

  • The original is SO MUCH BETTER! T.T

  • This movie was the best western since Unforgiven, and thats an 18 year gap. Almost every western that came after Unforgiven sucked. The quick and the dead sucked, American Outlaw really sucked, Brokeback Mountain literally sucked balls, Shanghai noon sucked, Tombstone wasn't that good, Wyatt Earp sucked, All the pretty horses sucked, wild wild west sucked, 3:10 to Yuma and the assassination of jessie james were ok, and Jonah hex especially sucked. But Unforgiven remains the best western.

  • @jbcowdery I thought unforgiven was just OK, and my favorite movies of all time are Clint Eastwood's "spaghetti westerns." 310 to Yuma was much better than Unforgiven, for me, anyway. True Grit good, will pick it up on BluRay or DVD.

  • Does anyone know why jeff bridges wore the eye patch on the opposite eye? John Wayne wore it over the left eye and jeff bridges wore it over the right. Was there a reason or a major blooper?

  • @robolyn the book.

  • @robolyn haha don't know but I thought the entire remake was a blooper!

  • Possibly yes..but the head-on fight scene at the end was OK more realistic than the original....but something was lacking?....a film from 60's & a modern one now is never gonna compare ..this film film is very good but I still like the original.

A seriouse man is good but underrated film.

And if you want tension see "Black Swan" I never thought i'd like this film..its about Ballet right---wrong hard as nails and very good

  • tremendous film,a superb remake

  • Its a good film and looks good with great acting, but even though the original was made in 1969 and it has many faults, this film lacks the tension of the original & everything is over just as the action begins.

The melodratic maudalin ending with the cliched commentry ruins the end,

  • @CODPIECE1969 You think this lacks tension? You have to be kidding, i think perhaps your taking a rather nostalgic stance on this

  • @CODPIECE1969

    I totally agree...

  • Lol, mumble, mumble, mumble is right. Good grief, Jeff Bridges is the best they could get? Sucked.

  • @stranger7138

You're right. maybe YOU could have done better....

  • @scott93257 Better than your fat ass.

  • @stranger7138

Shut your fucking trap old man.. I may be fat but I'll still break every bone in your body in less than a minute...

You have no idea what I could do to you... You're pretty tough behind that keyboard aren't you? I'll fucking snap your neck and paralyze your fucking ass...If you don't believe me, come on out to California...You'll leave in a body bag

  • @scott93257 Ease up on the crack pipe fat ass. Noone asked you to reply to me and someone from California sure as hell don't worry me. Don't let your fat ass overload your mouth. If you get cut you would bleed gravy. Chew on that Jabba the Hut.

  • jeff bridges probably never got so much work hollywood tend to every so often try to find a "old man" actor and jeff is the fav at the moment "old man yeah give it to jeff man". mickey rouke would have been better as rooster any day. also it does not matter that its more truer to the book than the original thats a poor excuse to re make a classic.next up fist full of dollars probably with brad pitt or something.

  • Jeff Bridges really tied the movie together

  • @SogeKami As long as he gets his White Russians.

  • mumble mumble mumble

  • True Grit was deep, powerful, and meaningful movie. No one can argue otherwise and win the debate. Personally I don't think the characters were extremely exciting or that the actors did an AMAZING job but that is just a matter of opinion which most definitely can be argued against and won. I'd rate the movie 8/10 as I can think of many more movies that beat True Grit with a savage knockout. Although True Grit was definitely a must see and I will never regret watching it. My movie buff opinion.

  • "This movie is more true to the book then the John Wayne version." and who cares ! the films do not have to be like the books The Duke is unique and this is a remake a good one but stilla aremake not more not less a. The original is still better and yes i' ve seen it .

  • Comment removed

  • @codin9 seriously? this is NOT a remake. the Coens were crystal-clear that they weren't remaking the John Wayne movie. I mean, look at all the re-adaptations of the classic novels like "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea." are they remakes of each other?

  • Gotta love his voice.

  • evaldobraz you are a prime idiot...the John Wayne movie was a star driven cartoon..the coens movie is a bracing character study with a very literate script..closer to the book and just as exciting. Briggsy give a powerful performance but equally good are the supports and cameos

  • Jeff rules! Barry was great also.

  • Jeff rules!

  • This movie is apparently a mere copy, and weaker western than that of Henry Hathaway. And then John Wayne's irreplaceable. Briggs is a weak Rooster Cogburn.

  • @Evaldobraz Apparently you didnt watch the movie. This movie is more true to the book then the John Wayne version.

  • eh, ní thuigim!

  • "Your more handicap with out the eye, then I without the arm"

  • he quoted the Dude :)

  • Where's General Sterling Price? I see those ducks hanging down so I reckon he's in the back of Chen Lee's.

    So... where's General Sterling Price?

This is a cool video though... nice interviews.

Rooster says "That Chinaman's been selling me cheap shells" so I reckon that's reference to Chen Lee. W'bout the General?

  • Where's General Sterling Price? I see those ducks hanging down so I reckon he's in the back of Chen Lee's.

    So... where's General Sterling Price?

  • did jackson just say siman like character? what a nerd.

  • love how he starts with a lebowski quote

  • 1:05 Spelling Fail.

  • LMAO Mattie wears the pants even around battle hardened killers...although a little naive truer to the book..but I miss John Wayne man..Jeff was great but the duke is the duke

  • Bridges and the girl are absolutely awesome. Plus, Barry Pepper is bad ass too.

  • Odd that his older brother Beau now looks younger.

  • Barry Pepper is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood. He brings such a sense of integrity and authenticity to every character I have seen him depict.

  • Actually Matt Damon, Hailee Steinfeld, and Jeff Bridges are ALL great in this movie. The Coen Brothers are the best film makers in Hollywood. They are the only ones whom seem to realize a movie revolves around characters and story instead of special effects, raunchy lewd sexual content, and just throw it out there artistic integrity be damned let's see how much money we can make with this movie attitude.

  • @ianschecter I would agree most movies are after profits rather than quality, but saying the Coen Brothers are the only ones after quality rather than profit isn't at all fair.

  • @ianschecter Amen.

  • @ianschecter Ad Quentin terrentin in that and youll have it ;).

  • I'm sorry, but this rehash is one of the worst movies I have ever seen

The actors seemed to spend more time on weird voices than line delivery. I don't even know what the hell accent Brolin was trying to pull off, much less the mountain man

The little girl lacked any depth or believability the other character were just hollow imitations of the originals

I wanted this to be good, but it just simply wasn't

  • @vangion You sir are wrong

  • @narutojames225 I know you are but what am I?

Just trying to keep it at your level of maturity

  • If nothing, they spoke very proper, that is why some of you have a hard time understanding? Rooster speaks like an old geezer, but Mattie and the rest speak very proper, no can't or Won't...its I can not or I will not.

  • if u have seen the movie you know that brolin gets : owned, pwned, and gets his ass ahnded to him by a 14 year old girl. in other words, awsomeness!

  • I dont think Jeff Bridges was horrible. He did mumble too much. I think he does deserve an award for his performance. However the real star of this film is Hailee Steinfeld. She was dead on with the Matty Ross role. Matt Damon did very good. All around this movie deserves a lot. The Duke would be proud of this movie, but he would have told Jeff Bridges to clean it up just a bit.

  • @thegreatbtwilson too true man plus the accents were annoying cuz u cant understan alot

  • @thegreatbtwilson agreed

  • Yeah, you Jeff Bridges are the one I wanted to complain about. Why the fuck can't you speak like a normal ass American in this movie??? I had to leave the theater after just 20 mins 'cause I can't stand that horrible redenck, hillbilly (whatever) accent...You sucked in this movie and made waste 10 bucks!!! I don't care if the movie was good but please!!! refrain from speaking like that...not even for the role...I am so disgusted and pissed right now....

  • @alexmejia26

john wayne talked like that in the original as well

  • @alexmejia26 this movie is set in arkansas, dumbfuck.

theres no such fucking thing as "normal" american. did you go see the departed and bitch about how they all talked with boston accents?

    youre a fucking retard.

  • Comment removed

  • @alexmejia26 yes, you certainly are entitled to be retarded.

fortunately, the coen brothers arent as stupid as you.

  • @alexmejia26 yo chill, dude. i couldn't understan shit either, but that IS how they talked in the south at that time (and im pretty sure they still do) so te movie would be realistic. im not saying that ur complaint is dumb, as i said before, yes its hard, but its just more realistic.

  • @lakobadmitry746 You are totally right. I am sorry for the previous comments; I was just frustrated 'cause I barely understood Bridges. Anyway, your comment made feel better. Thanks.

  • @alexmejia26 anytime, i always getinto these sorta things, so at least that one is settled... about a fajillion more to go! lol jk

  • @alexmejia26 if anything my quibble is that some of the characters (the girl especially) didnt sound southern enough, rather than vice versa.

she sounded like she was from california. nobody talked like that at all in yell county arkansas at that time period.

  • the dude abides

  • Just saw this movie this past Wed. It was really good. A lot more gritty than the older 1969 movie with John Wayne. The Duke would be proud of Jeff Bridges.

  • @Bassfanatic94 Well said.

  • I hope he at least gets a nomination for his role.

  • @endthedisease Having a deep voice and a weird accent is probably the only reason he is being nominated

  • Jeff Bridges= white morgan freeman.

  • @andyrob44 LOL!! I know right!

  • BARRY PEPPER FOR THE MOTHERFUCKING WIN.

  • One more thing, the end was not as light hearted and easing as the original. I don't want to spoil it for others, but i was kinda disappointed when the credits rolled, a surprisingly depressing ending. all in all, i think this movie does bring a new light to westerns and i hope will spark a new interest it them.

  • @metallicacdclp1 it did for me

  • @metallicacdclp1 dude its not suppose to be a happy ending like most movies it felt like a real ending

  • i saw this movie last night as well. i enjoyed it for the most part, the girl was far less annoying than the original actress in the Original adaptation by the same name. Here is my honest opinion of Jeff bridges portrayal of Rooster Cogburn. I did enjoy Jeff's interpretation of his character, as i did john Wayne's, i think the only negative i can draw from it was that he was less likable than John Wayne's Rooster Cogburn.

  • I watched this last night- Great movie. Enjoyed listning to the language spoken @ the time.

  • online version at lmovi.com

  • this was a great movie. The charge at the the end (climax) was the best.

  • @bronh12 IT WAS AMAZING

  • @narutojames225 i almost fell asleep... i guess just not my type of movie.. but it was horrible.. absolutely horrible!!!! i love jeff bridges though!!! he is freaking awesome hahah :) oh and my comment says "this comment has received too many negative votes" i find that funny.

  • @bronh12 lol because no one agrees with you no offense I respect your opinion even though its completely wrong

  • @narutojames225 dudee i know all of my friends are like "its the most amazing movie ever!!!!!" and im like "oh.. i hated it" and everyone looks at me all weird.. my friend was in the movie and i told her i was like "no offense but i hated it" idk i just thought it was so boring!!!!! :/

  • @bronh12 yeaaa, i guess your taste of movie must be violence, explosive and some gorgeous CG.

  • @bronh12 Dumbest YT commenter ever.

  • @LeLimeLine so now if someone voices their opinion they are accused of being dumb. i didn't like the movie. get over it.

  • @TylerJ33 Barry Pepper was the Canadian actor who starred in both Saving Private Ryan and The Green Mile.

  • His dudeness is getting old :(

  • i love jeff bridges

  • I saw the advanced screening, it's actually really good. More of a comedy action movie than a true gritty movie but everyone in the theater was laughing and Jeff Bridges was a badass.

  • JEFF BRIDGES!!!

  • Jessica: sucking your clitoris and fondling your titties is my ideal way to spend the Holidays. Merry Christmas!

  • youtube's new layout sucks monkey balls, good thing you can change it back

  • It looks ok, but I'll stick with the original.

  • @MrMonkeyCommander You're either old, or a John Wayne loving redneck who won't accept that Clint Eastwood is better.

  • @chaseduran have you even seen the original? its funny as hell... I love Clint Eastwood movies (as an actor and director) but you should really watch it before you judge it (I'm 21 btw... and I'm certainly no redneck)
