When Mark wrote: "You Russian Pig!" ... "I'm Henry Cobb"... WOW! I didn't see that coming!!
I found this book to be a real page turner... A Labyrinth of Subterfuge! I think the real danger isn't Einstein's missing theory alone, as much as it is our governments desire to obtain it and in doing so ruining peoples lives at any cost. How far is that from the real truth!!? ...sound familiar?
Currently it could be said that there are 2 scientifically based final theories. One based on pure Newtonian physics described as upward causation the other based on quantum physics entitled downward causation. Upward causation says that matter is the ground of all being and downward causation says that consciousness is the ground of all being. Quantum physics is an evolving science and consequently there can be no final theory untill all opposing issues are resolved between the two sciences.
Anyway, I wouldn't trust CBS, their "eye of sauron" is fixated upon you, allegorically speaking, of course.
I mistakenly came to this video looking for Mark McCutcheon's book, "Final Theory: Rethinking our Scientific Legacy" I would check that book out instead of this tired drivel.
I'm still reading the book and so far, I agree that it's really good. I had been interested in string theory before so this book appealed to me. I think that, at least to an average member of the public with an interest in science, this is a great read. I really recommend it.
I am no scientist but I have been around for a long time & have read a lot. I have read the free chapter and looked at the others and decided that this book cannot be the theory of everything because there is one single missing word "CONSIOUSNESS". It is excellent as far as physics goes however compare it to Dr Amit Goswami's books(professor of physics University of Oregon)"The Self-Aware Universe" and PHYSICS of the SOUL and a few others.
the energy of somthing is equal to its mass times the speed of light, squared. you see this in nucler reactions, for instance. a nucleus that start out a certain mass splits into two nuclei, and ther combind mass is actually less than the orignal nucleus. the leftovr mass has been converted into energy, which is the essence of the usefulness of nuclear reactions. basically this equation states that mass and energy are equivalent, and that a smal amount of mass represents a huge amount of energy.
This guy is interesting and very educated. graduated from college, got a PhD, and has a great understanding of Einstein's theories my favourite is E=mc2It stands for E(negery) = Mass times the Speed of Light (C) squared. What this means is that if you take the mass of an object and multiply it by the speed of light (2.9 x 10^8 metres per second) you will then have calculated the ammount of energy. As you can see, even a tiny ammount of mass when multiplied by such a huge number (C) yeilds an

wow apparently you people have no idea what you are talking about, this book is unbelievable and this man is pure genious. keep your terrible comments to yourself
Agreed! One of the best books I've read in a LONG time. I read a review in "Natural History" magazine and just had to check it out. They an you are correct; it's a fantastic read. Check it out!!!
i just checked this guy's bio on the website for the book. this uneducated nut graduated from princeton in astrophysics.... anyway, excellent premise for a thriller.
nice book!!!!!!!

This guy seems like a douche. Einstein solved the theory but did tell anyone about it...what a moron.
