  • Would you like some CPU with that thermal paste?

  • i love the people who manage to find music like this.

  • Too much thermal paste, just a little at the center of the cpu is okay, no need to paint them all over the place, it's very dangerous if it's leak below the cpu.

About the air flowing, you done it right caused the airflow will take the heat outside due to the fan side!

Great video dude, keep this up!

  • dude wtf are you painting a house with thermakl paste??? haha

  • You could have had better temps, IF YOU HADN'T FLOODED THE CPU AND HEATSINK WITH PASTE YOU BOZO. no hard feelings.

  • wt a stupid guy thermal compound on the cpu and the heatsink.. should only be applied to the cpu becuase the heatsink surface is bigger than the cpu the thermal paste will be forced out to the sides and over the sides of teh cpu and even the motherboard !!!

  • @pakigangster12345 oddly, the manufacturer actually advises people do apply thermal grease to both the CPU and the contact point on the heatsink. No idea why, I'm sure it's not necessary.

  • . .badass,,

    .

    .

    d(x,X)b. .yawp,, true story.

  • So many stupid things about this video, the quick zooming in and out at the readings on speedfan wasn't needed. Wow, horrible video.

  • what kinda disgusting looking rig is this? did you need that cooler for the chip ya had? what was wrong with the stock one ya had on there? and ya sure that thermal paste was'nt tooth paste? yikes

  • thanks for the video! At 5:23, which direction is the air flowing? is should be to the left (straight outside), right? I have the same setup but when i feel the air it seems to be going to the right towards the RAM modules. Have i done something wrong??

  • @rx7here should be to the left (straight outside)

  • look at my pc buikld vid above..thats how iots done.this joker is a novice

  • actually, the instructions tell you to put a thurough layer of paste on both the heatsink and cpu.

  • 90 Celsius with the old one! WOW thats toasty

  • its at 60c cuz you dumped 10 gallons of gasoline on the cpu.

  • Holy Thermal Paste.... Is this still running properly??

  • I love the paste ,,way man slap half the bottle on ,,that does harm ya know,,just a small pea size,,,also he protects the new heatsink withe plastic case, but slaps the mobo on the floor and treats it bad,,wow

  • @nickfighter28 i didnt notice him treating the borad like crap, and if u didnt notice he put the heatsink in plastic so it wouldnt roll around dipshit. lol but this video is epic fail anyways, he like a 2 year old in art class painting on all that thermal paste. lmao

  • Umm it seems that my mb has bracket mounted already should I try to remove existing one (just purchased) both mb and cooler

  • is it worth buying a zalman 9700 for a amd phenom II x4 955 BE? is the zalman going to make less noise than that stupid amd stock cooler? someone pls respond

  • WOW, The cpu will fail becuase that is way to much compound. The compound is only to transfer heat. Use a thin lare of compound and make sure it is evenly spreaded. I use the credit card method.

  • nice zoom

  • Your idle should be like 30C. Too much thermal paste...

  • u friking druged the cpu with all that thermal paste, damn

  • Holy shit that's a lot of THERMAL PASTE, BRAH.

  • You don't need to mount the backplate if u are sitting with a am2+ sicket, right?

  • wtf...decrease over 20C?????????

  • @jilljillmak most pcs have about 34c idle and 50 on a game max out...

  • @TheMrDavidKing elder test 0.9%: 60C ealier test 0.9%: 46C maybe the test not fair

  • itwould have gotten way much cooler temps if you applied the thermal grease correctly.

two layers of it (one on the cpu and one on the cooler) wrecks it all!

because one layer of thermal grease cand pass the heat correctly to the other.

  • the fan should be facing the opposite side(blow the hot air out)

  • @arun231990 It is the right way, it's blowing the air towards the rear exhaust fan.

  • Thermal paste addiction (*_*)

  • where your wiste to procter to ur body Volte to Pc motherboard? u could ruin ur motherboard.

i will show u the step by step!!! people need lesson for about safe ur own and safe the pc system.

not now becuase i wait for order for HDD,RAM,MotherBoard,Core i7 960 3.6GHZ and much more etc...

  • wow.... your right Buschwick WAYY TOO MUCH thermal paste.. dam i work in a comp shop and i know the more paste you use the worse it hurts

  • don't know why, but it hurts me to see a motherboard on a cold stone floor

  • Love the way people are saying to much paste. Its not Arctic Silver its Thermal grease ZM-STG1 , This is the EXACT way your meant to apply it. So stop hitting on the guy when this is exactly the way it says to do it on the tin.

  • ur hdd is loud as hell man

  • How long did it take you to do this?

  • nooob applying tooo much pasteee

  • 10/10 for installing heatsink fan facing towards exhaust fan and not psu.

10/10 for applying thermal grease correctly also with correct amount.

10/10 for not doing it on the carpet! ;)

  • Actually guys he's following the exact procedure that is on the Zalman site for installing one of these so go figure...

  • hes showing how to paint with thermal paste :D

  • this guy sucks at applying paste where did he learn to do this?

  • No Anti static pad just tile bang it up alright!

  • No matter how much thermal compound he smears on it, it will outperform his previous air cooler for sure! But hell, it is way too much i agree with u guys...

  • incase you didnt notice thats the paste that comes with zalman coolers and you literally paint it onto the cpu unlike other brands that come in a plunger, applying to the heatsink maybe overkill but perhaps instructions specified otherwise. no need to pass judgement with no basis.

  • nice

  • He's painting the thermal paste as if he's painting the wall or something....wtf...the amount you put on your CPU is already fukin much...now you are putting it again on fan base...You are a NOOB

  • A pea sized amount is usually about nice! Pressure spreads evenly

  • loool so much thermal paste :O

  • WOOOOOOOOOW u wanna mess up ur computer or something, that is way to much thermal compound, only apply something the size of a maggot on there!!!!

  • كفوووووو

  • omg you are sexy and I bet delicious...do a strip video next ;)

  • Dude i had one,

    they suck xD

To big and not that good in cooling (my opinion)

and why so much paste? ö

  • i would rather install fan bahind fan vent and not have a fan

  • less is the best

  • only 1 bottle of thermal paste? your a madman :P

  • cant seem to get this on the socket i push down the socket 6 thing and i screw one in but the other side is freaking flying any recommendations?

  • holy shit that sounds like a jet engine

  • too too too much thermal paste :S

  • yes but this is no problem ..Thermalpaste is not electrical..

  • Silicon thermal paste does not conduct, right.

    Thermal paste with Silver-Oxyd does.

  • are you sure there is enough thermal paste on the cpu and the cooler? It's better to squeeze the rest of the tube out of it, so that there's nothin left.

  • Holy shit i thi8nk i just shat out how much thermal paste he put on. All you need is a grain of rice sized thermal compound on the cpu.

This will give it the best performance for heat transfer.

More is worse, your cpu cooler will not be able to work to its best performance, as you can see in his video. The temperatures were still the same..

    FAIL

  • If i plug it straight into the motherboard without the fan controller will the fan just run at 100%?... because 1) i lost the cord for it & 2) i dont need to control it anyway i want it going 100% all the time

  • Comment removed

  • I can´t believe that motherboard on, after he put it on the floor. And WTF!! He put all the content of the thermal paste on that cpu. lol

  • does the thermal paste come with the Zalman fan? if not please recomend me the best thermal paste

  • some do some dont.. i have heard of some retailers open the box of the cooler and taking the paste out.. and even selling it to make more proffit

  • Arctic cooling - Mx-2

  • It does come with it yes. Dont listen to the guy who says retailers take it out to sell because its this tiny little 1 shot of paste so you cant sell that

  • lol funny video

  • gamerstech

  • Wow so much paste

  • too much thermal paste

  • lot to much thermal paste

  • does it go on amd procesors ply REPLY

  • i have my pc with oem cooler 3x- 44 C :D

  • holy crap batman...How much thermal paste can you use. Crap load on CPU then the cpu cooler. I mean i understand people might not understand thin layer and put to much on cpu. But this guy by far is the worse out there

  • @SocomX39 Its the 2nd coat that made me wee

  • @TrollingAround

i mean my intel Extreme i might have put alittle to much but god its like yea ok alot

Im watching this to check out the brush thermal paste

Im like wow thats to much paste but whatever then he puts more on fan im like omg.. Also even tho he is on concrete or tile floor i always put my anti static band on you never know

    FAIL!!!

  • OMG way too much thermal paste.. xD

  • Nice job. and real best music

  • 90C!?!?!?!? WTF How is your pc not melting down

  • As a quick guide this is ok - doesnt go into enough detail in regards to retention clip orientation, measurements of the fan compared to PSU and Graphic Card or even orientation of fan compared to case fan - these are all very very important

  • what was it that you were applying, it looked like white-out?

  • thermal paste

  • I install CPU Coolers without even pulling one cable off the mobo... I have the same zalman

My case is way too big for my Mobo and I have an ATX mobo

  • What hardware monitoring program are u using?

  • @kewlguy323

    Speedfan 4.something

  • It looks like a toy hovercraft

  • first ever type of thermal method i've seen

  • WAYYYYYYY too much thermal compound. DO NOT USE THAT MUCH. A speck the size of a grain of rice is all you need...any more and it hurts the performance of heat transfer! Spread it around really carefully with a razor and you'll have a nearly translucent layer of compound which is what you're supposed to have.

  • @Buschwick

no, he did not use too much paste. This is exactly how you are meant to apply this zalman thermal grease. You paint it on the cpu with the brush it comes with. Go to the zalman website if you dont believe me.

  • @Buschwick How do you know? Prove for me that you have a 4Ghz ++ Cpu 24/7

  • @Buschwick not it isnt. because that stuff is thin.

  • @Buschwick DO NOT SPREAD THE THERMAL GREASE! It will cause air bubbles!

  • fat ass

  • how much and how loud is that cooler?

  • im surprised it fit !

  • fat fingers

  • @protoptype21

the fan is positioned correctly. it intakes air and blows it through the copper fins out the back of the case.

  • prototype21 is correct the fan is not install the correct way. I may the same mistake..

  • hate to break it to you, but you're wrong too. the fan is facing the correct direction in this video. i own one and can see the orientation of the fins on the fan, not to mention that i can feel the airflow direction with my hand. oh and don't forget the documentation which indicates this is the correct direction of airflow. but hey if you want your heatsink on backwards, that's your business.

  • First off all not ever case is the same and second I like for the heat to blow out the rear of the case and on into it. If you like the heat to make circle in your case that is up to you. I do have one myself is how I know the fan was install incorrectly. As I stated I made the same mistake myself when I first installed it. Also, did it cross your mind that your fan might be on the other side of you heatsink?

  • you installed it w. the fan facing wrong direction? suppose to face the back of the case to blow the air out

  • yeah toooooo much paste !

  • 2 much paste

  • will this fit on my P9657AA-8KS2H ? some one please tell me.....

  • if you have space of more than 15 centimeters between your motherboard and the case cover, it will be fine.. the cooler itself is 14.2 centimeters tall. i just bought the black one and it keeps my quadcore amd chip under 50c.

  • What was the music at the end of the video?

Was it the character creation music from Phantasy Star Online / Phantasy Star Blue Burst?

  • Thx dude you really helped me out!!!.Its not hard but i was kind of nervous cause its my first time.I also read the comments and i know i need less thermal paste..

  • thats really a trashy old MOBO..Definitely not worth a cooler of this caliber.

  • i have a 680i gygabyte but my problem is the damn cooper backplate,i can't install any aftermarket cooler on it because of it

  • And the cooler IS in the right way - the fan is moving air to the back of the case...

  • It's not far too much really - it's that thermal grease you apply with a brush like nail polish. It's very thin and that's how the instructions tell you to apply it.

  • Way too much thermal paste. You only need about a pea sized drop on the cpu.

  • would cool much better if you put less thermal paste on (non on the heatsink, only on the processor) and if you put it in the right way, you want the fan blowing to the case fan not the cd drive.

  • will this fan work on a intel core 2 duo e8400 cpu HELP PLZ.

  • yes

  • last question i have the e8400 but will it fit on my asus P5KPL/1600 motherboard, please help, i want to buy this cooler as soon as possible

  • yes it fits

  • will the zalman work on am2+ ???? plz help

  • yes, it will, it is equipped with all necessary accessories for most CPU's available today, I'm using it with Phenom II 720 - max temps in stress it reached was 39 degrees :)

  • i always tought that this cooler was small but when i saw it in rl i changed my mind

  • same

  • 1 music sucks!

2 using stock compound is retarded

3 you only put in on the cpu not both the cpu and the cooler

    4 try cable management

5 its pushing air out and on to that other fan if the fan isn't good the hot air will stay in your case.

sorry i completely was a jack ass right there but i had to say it.

  • i love the cooler master 840, with the removalbe motherboard bracket.

  • Msi Platinum P35, 6750 overclocled to 3.3, Zerotherm Nivana cooler, idle at 29

  • buenooooo el video re kapo si no entendes español traducilo aguante argentinokapooooo contestame dale porfaaaaaaa

  • lol your cpu was going to get fried :D

  • basicly you have to rebuild your system....

  • Will it fit in a Micro ATC without any problems?

  • Do you really have to take everything off and take the mother board out, just to install a CPU cooler?

(sorry for being a noob) Just curious. thanx

  • im curious too :/

  • Yea..you have to get to the back of the motherboard.

  • some cases hav mobo trays has a hole where the cpu is located, with those trays you don't have to, but if there isn't one you have to remove everything because the cooler's retention plate needs to be installed behind the mobo.

  • Yeah, i just found all that out a few days ago, but thanks anyway :)

  • Yes you do. But its fun.

  • yes

  • btw. i hate you video "ameenalbriki"!

i think i posted a comment and you must have removed it...

  • Do you need to reinstal your OS after this?

  • why would you need to do that?

you're hard drive is where you OS is kept...

  • just a question, ..

  • why dont you get a watercooler...the noise is awfull.

    but nice vid dude=D

  • isnt that the wrong way round ? o.0

mayby thats why it wasn't any cooler ?

  • it definitely was cooler, before it was IDLE: 60

now with the zalman it's FULL LOAD: 60

    :D

  • I bet it cools, it looks like a fuckin turbine!

  • it goes in on the fan side and the fan pushes the air threw the fins.

  • that thing is shaking the whole case dam lol

  • man i would have thought that these zalman fan would have performed well but after watching these vids i would never buy one my arctic cooling frezzer7 pro does way better than these zalman ones and way chepper also

  • i think his temps where high cuz his case is small and probally don't have good airflow

  • Probably; I use the NT version of this heatsink myself (anodized nickel with green LED fan), and I get 55-60C in a 24C room with my e6600 OCed to 3.6 GHz

And these readings were when I had a G80 GPU kicking out heat, mind you. It's much cooler now that I downclocked my CPU to 3.2 and my graphics card the cooler 55nm G92b

  • Wat CPU did u test with?

  • intel E8500

  • Was/Is it OCd?..in the test

  • when you install this cooler do you use it with heatsink and fan that comes with the processor ? the intel E8500 for example

    please reply

  • no remove intel heatsink

  • oh ok thank you :)

  • heatsink and the fan comes with it ? or just the heatsink ?

    thanks again

  • remove both intel heatsink & fan

  • alright thank you very much :)

  • one thing i would do is note the load temps with speedfan and run a seperate cpu stress utility with coretemp and note any differences in readouts. speedfan isn't very accurate, at least for me anyway. there was even pretty big difference with idle temperature when comparing speedfan's readout and the readout from my bios.

just a thought : ) now you gotta upgrade to a 45nm processor and start overclocking that sucker!

  • I really want to get in to building computers and such, but I'm very intimidated with all the wires... especially on the motherboard. How do you know what goes where?

  • You stop being a canuck and ask your viking friend, Oh, and they mostly just match up, and the ones that don't have wiring diagrams usually

  • me i hope to get soon a job to pay myself some classes and learn how to build a computer if you have the money to learn what a are you waiting for i know that the wiring goes together with muting the hardware together so its easy youll learn go for it

  • You don't really need classes, just a friend who knows computers or access to a computer with internet. It's fun to deal with the hardware after you get the hang of it. :)

  • i visualise where the wires are coming from and where they go but dont worry about them if ou get stuck have a look at the mobo manual :)
