I had a quick question, im actually trying to do this conversion myself, my e36 was rear ended pretty bad so it has to be cut off anyway. Now i started the project but ran into an issue. The e46 rear that i found was from a 4 door e46, now my e36 is also 4 door but it doesnt seem to lign up or fit at all possible since the sedan e46 trunk is about 2 inches less in width, what rear end, year and model did you use for this conversion?

I love my 328i. Only mod is a Signature Motoring performance intake kit. They run around $170 and add up to 9HP in the E46 323/325/328 and up to 13.9HP in the 330.  That's about $17/per extra HP... A good value for the extra oomph. General HP increases are shown:

E30 series: 6.0-13.4hp gain

E36 series: 5.5-12hp gain

E46 series: 6.0-13.9hp gain

E92 series: 8.5+ hp gain

Z3/Z4 (all): 5.5-13.9hp gain

I have an E46 330i and the only performance item I have is the Signature Motoring performance CAI for about $160. The performance kit adds around 13.5HP on the dyno, sounds freaking great, and installs in under 30 minutes. Highly recommended.

Aside from the power gain, the SOUND is amazing at higher RPM but sounds normal in regular driving.  I’m thinking about added high-flow exhaust next.

Honestly after really looking at it. I think I like it better than the E36 and E46. I like the front and rear of the E46 but like the body lines on the side of the E36. Also the e36 is still one of the best handling chassis ever built to this day. I really really like it.

The slideshow effects made this horribly painful to watch though, especially after they started looping in the same order a second time.

Next time you have a project done this well, do youself a favor and leave the sucktastic slideshow hackjob at home. a regular slideshow would have done this much more justice.

PS: E36 is about 1300 € for exmaple tail lights from E46 €. Work well mutch of food if its done by your self... and now BMW E46 M3 23869 €... so count it by your self... maybe it is more expensive maybe not... but for sure when your job is done you know you got unique something no one have... you got BMW e36 thats looks like a BMW 46 i thing not mutch ppls got that... and for those who things its easyer to buy a E46M3... of course its easyer... but its no satisfying :) no offense guys :)
