  • Yeah expert village dont make good videos. I've watched a few vidoes now and I can pick out alot of errors in each one. The way he's holding the bar is just crazy, your just asking to hurt yourself if you do it that way. Thumbs should always be on the outside of the bar

  • Doing it the way he's showing works out your triceps, with your thumb around the bar works out your chest more.

  • Angle of bench WAY too steep, a few sets like that and the only thing burning will be your shoulders, not upper chest.

    I notice he is using the suicide grip (thumbs behind bar) comlpete lunacy !people have been seriously hurt that way , there is a vid somewhere on youtube of a bench accident with that grip, watch it and I bet you never grip the bar that way again !!

  • it really gets to me when i look at these videos about form an guys who have been in the gym for however long feel the need to critisize for the sake of it, jus to say 'i go to to the gym, and i dont do it like that' but to be honest, this does look quite poor, i wouldnt comment for the sake of it, but for someone who's supposed to be an expert this is quite bad, despite this, after going to the gym for only two years, ive quickly learnt different things work for different people.

  • If he lowers the bar a bit lower and more toward the lower pec, and uses slightly wider grip hell tag the upper chest more, this one tags the deltoid more

  • is suicide grip when you hold your thumbs with the other fingers????I have seen some guys in the gym who do that..

  • that guy in the video is a perfect demonstration of suicide grip, i recomend not using it with more weight than your willing to drop on your chest

    It does work your chest more than regular grip, but remember even with spotters you can never be fully safe

    I havent really used this grip never, but some ppl do it, its ok if you dont lift heavy, but if you are lifting heavy it can be dangerouse. But I use to do DB incline bench, i think in this way i hit the muscle much better :P
