hey i'm 17 year old gymnast and i just got 1 question: are you meant to wear underwear under leotards? cause i went 2 gymnastics camp last summer and all the gurls i stayed with wore underwear..is there a special type of underwear and where can u buy them? also is it a good idea to wear a bra and briefs under leotards or not? also is there a rule in gymanstics that says u are not allowed to have any piercings? cause i have a nose piercing, belly button piercings and a hip piercing

i have a friend whose almost 16, doesn't do sports, and still she's really tiny, and she's vietmenese. i know alot of other asian girls that are also very tiny. i really don't think their underaged, just 10 times better then us

The U.S. entered artistic gymnast Alicia Sacramone on its roster for the upcoming world championships. Sacramone managemed to skip doping tests several times. Mm... very suspecious. If judged by looks, Sac does look very big and too strong for a young girl.

What is a fact though, is that the U.S. has 7 stripped medals due to steroids cheating, more than any other country in the world, albeit none of them in the sport of gymnastics. Also, you are wrong about Russia being horrible in gymnastics. Their current juniors, such as Komova, are arguably the best in the world. I would not be surprised if they resumed their gymnastics domination in the next two years.
@SGhockeychika4 The age limit was not 14 when Mary Lou Retton won in 1984. It was raised to 15 three years prior. Also, 1984 was when the Soviet Olympic boycott happened. That's why the U.S. won like 10 times the medals it usually wins in a Summer Olympics that year, cause not too many countries showed up. Because of this, most American gymnastics fans know deep inside that Mary Lou's gold isn't exactly legit.

A number of his former gymnasts in the U.S. aren't too crazy about him either (Google "Karolyi Dominique Moceanu"). Last, but not least, in a Time Magazine article, Karolyi has admitted to faking birth dates in Romania in order to allow his underage gymnasts to perform. Talk about a f***ing hypocrite!

Alicia is a lady with boobies, hips,etc.But, she's short, flexible, fast and still does two apparatus She scored higher than most of the younger athletes on vault and beam and made the national team.Not so much a contradicting of words.More a case of being in shape at the right time.age is no factor in competition. Well, i wasn't so i guess; we're in total agreement :P I don't think younger gymnasts have an "unfair" advantage. they have a possible physical advantage. Both teams were on an even playing field before the competition. China had a better day, end of story. Any day could have given a different result. In my opinion both teams are amazing and I think it's just plain low to criticize another country (I seen both Chinese AND Americans do this.)
well for all the american fans, yea we lost the team final. but some good news is we outdid the chinese in every other event. lets c, gold and silver on balance beam and as well on allaround. we got shut out of vault, but north korea won. we got silver and bronze in floor and a romanian won.yes u won uneven bars, but nastia deseved it just as much. it was

You're right about the Brits. They went along with the US. The russians had their suspicions, just like the UN. But, they too found that the evidence was unsubstantial. The US doesn't drill in the middle east because the Middle east doesn't want other people drilling in their back-yard. It's theirs and if you want it; you'll have to buy it. Btw, I read this article on the Alicia doping thing? Alicia had been tested since she "re-applied" but, US gymnastics failed to report this to the FIG . That's why they issued a warning but no ban as sac was clean. But, it's still a serious oversight

The FIG has issued a warning to the U.S. gymnastics federations for negligence over a gymnast who was not registered in the anti-doping program prior to the world championships. The U.S. entered artistic gymnast Alicia Sacramone on its roster for the upcoming world championships. Sacramone managemed to skip doping tests several times. Mm... very suspecious. If judged by looks, Sac does look very big and too strong for a young girl.

What is a fact though, is that the U.S. has 7 stripped medals due to steroids cheating, more than any other country in the world, albeit none of them in the sport of gymnastics. Also, you are wrong about Russia being horrible in gymnastics. Their current juniors, such as Komova, are arguably the best in the world. I would not be surprised if they resumed their gymnastics domination in the next two years.

@SGhockeychika4 The age limit was not 14 when Mary Lou Retton won in 1984. It was raised to 15 three years prior. Also, 1984 was when the Soviet Olympic boycott happened. That's why the U.S. won like 10 times the medals it usually wins in a Summer Olympics that year, cause not too many countries showed up. Because of this, most American gymnastics fans know deep inside that Mary Lou's gold isn't exactly legit.

A number of his former gymnasts in the U.S. aren't too crazy about him either (Google "Karolyi Dominique Moceanu"). Last, but not least, in a Time Magazine article, Karolyi has admitted to faking birth dates in Romania in order to allow his underage gymnasts to perform. Talk about a f***ing hypocrite!

Alicia is a lady with boobies, hips,etc.But, she's short, flexible, fast and still does two apparatus She scored higher than most of the younger athletes on vault and beam and made the national team.Not so much a contradicting of words.More a case of being in shape at the right time.age is no factor in competition. Ability is. So you "pick" alicia. she earned her spot

Well, i wasn't so i guess; we're in total agreement :P I don't think younger gymnasts have an "unfair" advantage. they have a possible physical advantage. Athletes like Sac, Ezhova, chusovitina were able to deliver the goods. it just so happens that, the majority of their competitors is half their age:P it's not unfair. The whole discussion is moot; Gymnastics is a sport. the one who delivers, is the one who gets to compete. Nothing more

And it seems the solution to that problem is to blame Iraq for 9/11 and invade it. It's a perfect plan because no one likes Hussein, so no one will really do anything about it.

Both teams were on an even playing field before the competition. China had a better day, end of story. Any day could have given a different result. In my opinion both teams are amazing and I think it's just plain low to criticize another country (I seen both Chinese AND Americans do this.)

well for all the american fans, yea we lost the team final. but some good news is we outdid the chinese in every other event. lets c, gold and silver on balance beam and as well on allaround. we got shut out of vault, but north korea won. we got silver and bronze in floor and a romanian won.yes u won uneven bars, but nastia deseved it just as much. it was
a tie so it was fair 4 both 2 get gold. nastia liukin and shawn johnson are the best in the world.

Uh... no. The tie breaker (adding in all the scores including the ones dropped by the judges) showed that the He, not Liukin, won bars. I also like how you mention how vault doesn't matter because neither the Chinese nor the US won, but fail to mention that China did in fact get bronze on the vault... but then turn around and count silver and bronze on floor!
