This song blew me away. I thought they were a Newcastle (NSW) band but it seems not. Love to hear more about this band. They are GREAT!!! I still play this in my band.
Fantastic! I used to watch a show in Melbourne in the 60's where artists like Alex Silbershire (Father of Joel Silbershire from "God") used to mime songs like The Who's "Substitute", which I as a 15 year old schoolgirl thought was really "wild". Then I saw The Valentines perform this on a TV show, and I've been looking for it ever since. It changed my life. The energy, the vocals, everything about this song was the wildest thing I had ever heard. Thank for posting this clip, and the dino is ace!
Vibrants FANS, have just you tubed another old vibrants hit from the early 70's, please search for The Vibrants - I Can't Let Go Of Your Love, and enjoy this Austalian hit of yesteryear.
Fantastic version of the song, the sort of song you break the speed limit by listening to in the car!!! You don't have the flip side at all (Danger Zone), very curious to hear it.
What a great song !!! It brings back many memories of Melbourne, Carlton and the memorable music of those days. Thanks for posting this great track !!
You can download it from this site via your browsers download manager, yes it is a great song, both versions are great but rather different, being by the vibrants and the four tops. enjoy. from Dougie.
Type your question about downloading into google search engine, you will get plenty of advice on how to go about it. Make sure you type in what browser your using, as the procedure to download will be a bit different depending what browser you use, or send me your email address and i'll reply there in more detail.
The Vibrants had a hit with 'I Can't Let Go Of Your Love' can somebody supply this old song so i can finally hear it again, it wasn't a big hit, but i loved it, Thanks. Dougie.
This group was one of the best going around when I was a teenager. For the purists, I reckon that their version of "My Prayer" is one that still brings a lump to my throat
@Mempes Gidday, do you have a copy of the Vibrants song from around 1971 called "I Can't Let Go Of Your Love" i'd give anything to hear it again, it was only a moderate hit, but i liked it a lot, but over the years i've lost it, really hope you can help.
@Mempes Rick, this is real good of ya, have sent you an email, you should also upload it to youtube so everyone who likes The Vibrants 'something about you baby', and 'my prayer' can have a listen too, just a thought, Thanks Rick!
Hi Rick - love to hear more about this band. And it's a crime you were not included in that fabulous book "Wild About You" detailing Oz garage rock of the '60's (it's in bookshops now, I got it for my birthday). Cheers Bill (geehosh@hotmail.com)
These guys were really good BUT this version doesn't even compare to The Four Tops, these guys leave more than half of the verses out of the song, it was like they weren't able to memorize the lyrics.

The Vibrants did a very good cover of this song but, as performers, the Vibrants were no match for the Four Tops.

Cannot believe that I have finally heard this song again after all these years. Absolute classic! Love the rythmic dinosaur.

Oh dear. Why would you listen to this when you can listen to the great, late LEVI STUBBS??????????????????
pargaluvva 2 years ago 2
Why does good music have to be a contest? The Four Tops are great, The Vibrants are great, enjoy both.
snifferenator 2 years ago
There is no contest. How can the Vibrants compete with the the Four Tops, especially the late, great Levi Stubbs???!!!

I searched for this song forever. It was one of my favorites grwing up. It is great to be able to listen to it again.

They were great in Adelaide in the 1960s - their version of this song is the best yet - better than the Four Tops, and that's saying something!
