When she sees the thoughtfulness of what Inuyasha does, she thinks better of it, and says, "oops, I forgot your gift." She realized she didn't have to do that to him. Meanwhile, in chapter 558 in the manga, even after Inuyasha and Kagome are apparently engaged...he STILL wears the damn necklace!
