My husband has one, the eagle body on a 1979 jeep wagoneer frame. Crazy lifted, jacked up, hot wheeled out, and tough as shizzz!! looks just like this, and yet twice as tall...
They did way better than anyone expected especially considering that they were the least-modified cars there. I would modify that statement by saying "They went to Nürburgring, WHICH kicked ass." I mean, AMC at Nürburgring? In the early 80s, when they were in their death throes? The very idea is cool.
Kammback ay? And I thought my SX4 was rare. I have yet to see a Kammback, even at the junkyard. I like my car but I've found there are two kinds of people. Those that either hate it or love it.. No in betweens. Drive on!
Awesome. This shows how good advertizing can make an underpowered birck like the SX/4 seem better than cars with fuel injection and turbochargers. Personally, I'd take the SX/4 over any of those heaps any day.
It's one of those very common top loading Sanyos. I'm on my 2nd one. I don't feel like looking on the closet right now for the model number. I've also owned a very large Sony, but the heads screwed up years ago and I threw it away.
Rad, these cars are pretty cool they always get dogged on by everyone because they are different and everyone just dreams of driving whats in the driveway next door, crowd followers. The the new "crossovers" that are selling so well today are just a product of what AMC thought of years ago. Be proud to be different.
My friend sent me this comment about this commercial:
Well sure, you floor a T/A or a Mustang Turbo, you would get rotten traction on sand. It is a wonder that the brakes on the MG worked at all. Let's try the same tests on hot pavement and see where it stands...oh I know, the Eagle on its roof from flipping over! It is a wonder that those death traps didn't kill all of America...cars were such crap back then.
plus they wer junk

No, they took the Spirit to Germany, it's RWD brother. They did well, not "kicked ass".

Just think, this didn't sell well, but now people pay $80,000 + to have the same thing from BMW. The resemblance is amazing.

Resemblance maybe, but not the same quality. :)
