Amazing Video Dale! I am jealous I am lucky to see one in a season, looks like maybe multiple feeders is the key .. and for me maybe less cats around.. this is a wonderful video , can't believe how many I bet you couldn't even count them all..:)
@dianemummvideos Awwwwwwwww! Thanks Diane! Yes, cats could be a factor! LOL We only get down to Michelle's aunt's house a few times a year during "hummingbird season" but it's a sight to behold! I'm always amazed seeing them and having them fly all around me. Thanks so much for subscribing!
That's really great you are so diligent about rotating and cleaning the feeders. How do you sanitize them? OH...I don't get nearly as many hummers as you do...but enough to be pleasantly happy watching them...and busy cleaning and filling feeders.
Your video is especially nice...would enjoy seeing more.
@hummingbirdlady11 Oh those aren't my hummingbirds or feeders. They are my girlfriend's aunt's. I have no idea how she cleans them. She does all that in the early morning hours before I wake up LOL Are you going to put up a video of yours? I'd really like to see them!
@hummingbirdlady11 I don't know how she sanitizes them. I'll try to remember to ask her. From what I've read in the past, vinegar will not sanitize, only a 10% solution of bleach in water will. Vinegar is a good cleaner but not a sanitizer. Have you seen my latest hummingbird video?
Beautiful scenery and sharp clear video. Love all the natural sounds of the birds. Great that the hummers are getting color free sugar water. IMHO the feeders could use a good cleaning with a vinegar water solution and a soft bottle brush.
@hummingbirdlady11 Thanks! It's an awesome in sight, sound and scenery. The feeders are rotated, cleaned and sanitized each time one runs out of sugar water which often doesn't even take a day at best. How many hummers do you get in a day per feeder and how often do you clean yours?
Es una maravilla verles volar.... El silencio... tan solo sus trinos... La belleza del paisaje unido a los comederos... Blanco+rojo+verde... Is very nice :)
@ScruffyBueno I did one at 60fps that doesn't have alot of action to it so there's not alot to work with. Not like the 1000fps video with the $2500+ camera that Discovery channel uses. Not in my budget. I plan on heading south and getting more footage before the little hummers fly south for the winter. Hopefully I can come up with something that doesn't look too lame.
@Tstormer The babies will be hatching soon if not already, then the swarm will grow. I think she stops feeding them in sometime in September so they will go south and not hang around. You have a really nice channel there!
@SasyBecause I'm not sure how long she's been feeding the hummingbirds. I know it's more than 5 years. If you wqalk to the feeders and stay still, they usually come back in a minute or so.
That is awesome. We get hummers here too but they fight over the feeder so it's usually only one feeding at a time. You've got a lot of feeders going. Very nice.
@lotusblossomed It's a sight to see! My best guess is that they're Ruby's but I'm no expert. I only get to see them a few times a year on visits to Michelle's family down south.
OH! How small are they?? I thought they were bigger than that. You can hear their wings flapping and all... That's amazing... Was it raining? Unbelievable crisp, clear quality video. Thanks for sharing!
@Watsamadoing They can fit in the small of your hand. With that many, they sound like a swarm. It was raining the one day. I filmed over three days there. Thanks! I used my DSLR. You're welcome. More than glad to share!
That is so cool. You must be in the migation route. I have never seen so may at one time.

@mhpgardener I've never even tried to count them. That would be futile! Thanks for trying though! LOL
Feeling dizzy?! Eat two squirrels and watch again in the morning LOL Thanks! This was my first serious attempt at live filming with a DSLR.
mediamaker2000 7 months ago
Wow what a show evidently the more feeders you put up the more hummers you get.
dalecalder2003 7 months ago
@dalecalder2003 Since they fight over the feeders so much, more feeders allow them more time to actually get some food.
mediamaker2000 7 months ago
