@CIKO32123 Even the 2jzgte and rb26dett engines can make 4,5,600 hp with minor mods, thats better cus there JDM engines but still crazy. Drifting is for tuned steet cars with overall balance not a fuckload of power i would like to see more series like BMI Touge Battle etc with differnt power level restrictions. The american pro drift style scenes are not even close to real drifting. p.s i dont have anything against american cars if somone make a touge capable hot rod i would be all for it :)

@SprntrlDeathNinja naah.. i just hate v8 cars. v8 sounds like bullshit. seriously. the 2jz is an awesome engine. but i love the sr20de / t aswell. just like u said, drift is for tuned street cars. but those cars in the video could do time attacks on a track. that's not what it is supposed to be. 200 - 300 hp, 4cylinder (maybe a turbo on it), mountains and a good driver. that's all drifting needs. :) but the touge is a MUST for drifters. :) i even drifted (powerslided) in the alps with a 318i :D

that's what seperates american drifting from the rest of the world. the overwhelming popularity of american muscle under the hood of a well handling car. no limits on modifications is what makes it interesting, and also creates underdog cars. it is a lot more about the driver then the car. in my local grass roots drifting, i am moving up the ranks very quickly.

i have a stock engine S13, open drift, naturally aspirated. the only real mods i have is some suspension upgrades. i am the only one in my league with an open dif. last event i was in the top 5 out of 12 people in my class. and it was only my 2nd event. so like i said it's a lot more about driver skill then just car performance.

I love the LS6, but I don't understand. Why use a V8 Lexus if you're just gonna swap out the V8 that's in it. Use a lighter car and put the V8 in it... The stock motor probably woulda worked just fine.

@08SilveradoLT The is350 comes with a 3.5 liter v6. They probably just used the ls6 for its proven power, aftermarket support, and reliability. Not to mention cheaper then the 5.0L v8 from the ISF, which at the time and still has very little aftermarket support.

@Doncan0823 well technically since this v8 has 32 valves.... its more like 8 filters for the 2 intake valves each per cylinder because the other 2 exhaust valves per cylinder are exhaust. so it is 1 air filter for 2 valves, but initially the 2 valves were 1 valve for intake (they just split it up before hitting the cylinders). so actually its 1 air filter per valve. i hope that makes sense to you. check this image out of a dohc
