  • I love this recipe. Paula, you make this simple dish fun! Yay! I love your guilty smile when you say butter and bacon! Yay! I'm going to make this dish and give you all the credit! Thanks Paula!

  • Fail.

  • Love your vid! Look at you. That's really amazing! Let's stay in touch. Let's stay in touch! Check me out sometimes too!

  • eeek im running to the pepto bismol cabinet!

  • spamm!! eeewww!!

  • This is Paula's poor man's version of Corned Beef and Cabbage. This woman has been there, done that. Therefore, Don't knock till you try it!

  • I cant decide if I want to marry her, or just have her as my "freak on the side".

  • when they said little they add a lot

we are going to add a little of water

well that woman added a lot

  • ridiculous

  • Gotta love Paula always making fattening foods even more fattening. Whenever I'm looking for guilty pleasure meals, I put her show on!

  • we eat this in trinidad! but cooked a lil different

  • I think I would have left out the corned beef and had the cabbage and bacon as a side dish.

  • this is a fail! and not Irish!

  • I guess its just the Irish in me but I prefer the 4 hour method.

There is nothing better than taking the time to slowly boiling the brisket. Watching and turning the meat, adding in the veggies a little at a time, having your kitchen fill with that awesome fragrance.

  • I agree. I've got mine in the crock right now. Guess I only prefer that canned mold for cranberries. Corned beef should be done the slow cooked way.

  • gotta love paula!!

  • yummy i am cooking this for dinner !! thanks paula dean :)

  • All that butter and grease WILL harden your arteries faster than you can think.

  • Oh Shut up

  • @chasitysweet you are right . i just trimmed a corned beef ... that is some Hard FAT!!!

  • 1981footboy, I eat it with white rice most of the time, other times with some breadkind like yam, green banana and dumplings.

  • We eat this for breakfast in the Caribbean, but not like this. We don't put bacon in ours. Mmmmmm, I can taste it now!

  • I agree with kittygirl159. I"m Caribbean as well. Do you eat it with white rice or with hardough bread? I love it with white rice and cabbage.

  • Bacon grease and butter damn my chest hurts

  • I made this today, it's alright.

and for "asininityy" your comment made no sense, are you saying that all asains dont usually cook with butter? Because im asian and I cook with butter all the time.

  • it gross me out with the bacon fat and butter already

  • I grew up with my grampa making corned beef omlets using that brand of canned ... it is probally the best tasting one and I will be making this dish this week looked good to me Not sure I will use the additional salt or butter but looking forward to trying the dish

  • canned corned beef i dont know that she serves this meal in her restaurant.

  • YUCK!! Paula I love you most of the time, but looks like Alpo....

  • Despite her heavy handed cooking tendencies, she looks like she has lost weight since her first show.

  • Paula your the best cook and i cook just like you cause my Mom and grandmom cooked the same as you and they both lived to be in their 80s!!

  • 1 stick a butter with every recipe. i bet the butter companys love her.

  • Comment removed

  • No, no really. If you grow up with it, it's really not as noticeable.

  • it's comfort food, not something you eat everyday. i use olive oil, and non-stick spray when i cook. but, when i want a biscuit or mashed potatoes, nothing wil do but real butter. about once every couple of weeks.

  • i'm asian so i rarely eat or cook with butter and it doesnt really disgust me, more like scare me

  • This is comfort food, not something you eat every day. So go ahead and use the butter! I bet this dish tasted fabulous. I'm going to try it. :)

  • jus a luttle bit a water.

  • Kewl.
