  • @Funcoolfunfun Yep.. I know what you mean. I was probably in much the same boat. :)

  • @AloweWolf Okay. By the way: 1. How much more progress have you made in Sonic X?

    2. I've just started watching Sonic X for the third time and I just noticed that one of the cops in "Chaos Control Freaks" is voiced by the same guy who voices Knuckles.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Well, ..1. I just finished watching episode 34 (Shadow Knows)

And 2. Oh really? LOL! Okay. I never noticed about his voice!

  • @AloweWolf 1. Shadow was the surprise non-robotic character that I mentioned would be coming in season 2.

    2. Yeah. Like I said, I just noticed it as well. Watch the first episode again (when you have time), and listen closely.

  • @Funcoolfunfun 1. Yep.. I figured that when he appeared! LOL! It was a huge surprise!

    2. LOL! Okay! I think I see what you mean, I never noticed that!!

  • @AloweWolf Okay. The ironic thing is that at some point in the next few episodes Shadow is mistaken for Sonic by Amy. And he's mistaken for Sonic multiple times by other characters as well.

  • @AloweWolf Also 4 other things:1. Have you seen the new Progressive commercial with Sonic in it.

2.Back when I saw episode 5 of Sonic X for the first time, and every time since, I've been wondering where Tails keeps his screwdriver.

3.(Related to 2) In episode 10 when Tails pulls the green Chaos Emerald out of one of his tails, that's a sign that Tails probably keeps his screwdriver in one of his tails.

4.Also, in episode 10 I've wondered how Sonic's back spikes stayed in his uniform.

  • @Funcoolfunfun 1. Nope. I had not seen it, or even heard about it yet. But I just looked it up on this site.. and watched it. LOL! That was a surprise! ;)

    2. LOL! A very good question.. I never thought much about it. Although lots of times assorted characters will often do stuff like this.. with no explanation of where said items come from.

    3. Makes as much sense as any answer, you are probably right. :)

    4. Off hand I can't recall much about this instance.. LOL!

  • @AloweWolf 1. Yeah. It was funny the first time, but since they've replayed it, it's starting to get a bit annoying.

    2. Yeah. I've noticed that as well. Also, sometimes in cartoons, an item will suddenly appear in a room when a character needs it.

    3. Okay.

    4. Just rewatch the episode and you'll notice that, instead of poking out of the uniform (which is what should've happened), his back spikes just don't seem to be there.

  • @Funcoolfunfun 1. Right, I can see why that might be the case!

    2. Yes.. that is very convenient! I often wish real life worked that way.. but sadly enough it does not seem to.

    3. Yep. LOL!

    4. Okay. Oh yeah I just watched the episode and I see what you mean.

  • @AloweWolf Okay (to 1, 3, and 4) and yeah (to 2). Another thing that I'm wondering about is near the beginning of episode 11 when you see Sonic on the outside of the X Tornado and he's spinning a baseball on his finger. Here's why it bothers me: The baseball had nothing to do with the episode. The first time I saw it, I thought it would be a Chekov's Gun type thing (meaning it would be used later on in the episode) but since it wasn't I've been wondering why he has it at all.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Yes! I know what you mean. I have noticed things like this. Things that seem out of place and you wonder why they are there Stuff with no significance or bearing on the rest of the story.

Often the seemingly minor things play a sudden and pivotal role in an episode, like when the hero just happens to (somehow) have exactly what he needs to save the day, something he likely never had before or had access to But we saw it briefly and it was critical to the outcome.

  • @AloweWolf Right. Like I said, at first I thought it would end up being useful but it just appeared for a few minutes and didn't really have anything to do with the episode at all. It might actually have been either a "Red Herring" or a "What happened to the Mouse?" where it appears to be important but either was there just to distract viewers or was forgotten about.

Also Deccoe and Boccoe can both be counted as 2 "Chekov's Gunman" where at first they appear to be useless, but become important.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Right. Some times certain elements are present solely to confuse or distract viewers from seeing something else which ends up being truly significant.

Other times it seems like stuff just should not be there at all. I watched one series where and idea was used over and over. Appearing so often you could not help but assume it was important. And it was (I guess up to a point) and then it was completely "dropped" and never mentioned again in the rest of the series.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. By the way, all 3 times that I've seen episode 16 of Sonic X, when Amy says that her picture makes her look like a loonatic and an off-the wall mania I always think, "That's exactly what you are."

  • @Funcoolfunfun LOL! Yes.. I think that I would tend to agree with you!

Although Amy is surely very kind and is .. um.. basically sweet, having a good heart.. it also appears that she can often quickly become.. perhaps shall we say.. over excited? Or frantic?

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. Amy won't get mad at you as long as: You don't wake her up in the middle of the night. You don't insult Sonic when she's around. You don't insult her (especially about her appearance). You don't stop her from thinking about Sonic.

Also, most people would probably say that Knuckles is the most dangerous one when mad, it's actually Amy. If knuckles gets mad, you'll survive mostly intact. If Amy gets mad, you'll have most bones broken unless you've got great protection.

  • Besides that, there's a second reason why I feel that it should get a 9: The two levels of Sonic Generations that I played in the demo were great.. One last thing: By listing the "bad" things about Sonic Generations, you've only made me want to play the game even more to see if it really is that bad.

Here's their response: "You really showed us, Kyle. Your plan to play a bad game because we criticized it for being bad is a bold new approach to consumerism that we're sure Sega will appreciate.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Wow.. Yeah. ;) Well, from what I read.. it seemed there were other folks who have a fairly high opinion of the game as well. Perhaps the game did not get a fair review. It has been known to happen.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. Did you read the full review? Because you should, to see what they actually said about the game. But basically they said that it's a perect timeline of Sonic's history, since both the 2D levels with Classic Sonic and the 3D levels with Modern Sonic both start off great (like the games for both) but gradually got worse over time.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Yep. :) I did read the full review by Tim Turi. Maybe he was just being a little bit too hard on the game. It seemed like many other people who wrote user reviews gave the game higher scores than he did. :)

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. By the way, going back to when we were talking about the parts of the songs from Sonic Underground that I said were stuck in my head, I've kind of started a daily tradition where I say/sing some of them at least once. I have no idea why I started it but it seems kind of right.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Yup. Okay, I think I can relate to what you are talking about. I tend to find myself doing this sort of thing with certain songs.. when I "get into" something and/or it gets "stuck" in my head! :)

  • @AloweWolf Okay. By the way, where are you now in Sonic X?

  • @Funcoolfunfun Well, my plans again got delayed for watching episodes, and I only now just got the rest of Episode 31 (Revenge of the Robot) finished up.

  • @AloweWolf Okay. By the way, for my second run through of all of the Sonic tv things (meaning the 4 shows, the movie, and Night of the Werehog) I'm making a list of all the catchphrases that Sonic used during AoSth, Sonic Underground, and SatAm. All that's left right now is to go through SatAm.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Really? Wow. That sounds like quite an undertaking. I find that Sonic and Friends are really starting to grow on me now.

LOL! At one point I probably would not have thought I would ever say that.. seeing as I have always been a fan of Mario, and I just never thought about Sonic that often.

  • @AloweWolf Same here. What I think is the weirdest part is that, before I saw the other Sonic shows (after "discovering" Sonic X), I didn't even know what planet Sonic and the others came from and I didn't really know much about any of the characters either and now I've got a fair amount of knowledge about a good portion of them.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Yup.. That sounds just about like my situation too. I did not know much of anything about them either.

  • @AloweWolf By the way, I'm also making a list of all of the Star Wars references in each show. So far I've got one reference from SatAm: In the 5th episode there is a wizard who talks just like yoda. One of the comments on that video said "If the wizard is secretly yoda, are the swatbots stormtroopers?" (You'll get the second part if/when you watch SatAm)

  • @Funcoolfunfun Oh? That sounds cool! ;)

  • @AloweWolf By the way, if/when you watch Sonic the Movie, you should also watch the Japanese version with english subtitles after watching the English version. I haven't seen the Japanese version yet but it seems interesting. But you'll also notice that in both versions of the movie, Sonic has his classic Sonic eyes, but buckles on his shoes. So it's probably an "inbetween" Sonic.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Okay.. I will keep that in mind.

  • "Just be sure you're not part of the problem" from the song Part Of The Problem in the episode Hedgehog in the Iron Mask.

"Don't let you're guard down. Keep you're shield up. Be ready" from the song Don't Let Your Guard Down in the episode Virtual Danger

"Justice callin', tyranny fallin' " from the song Justice Callin' in the episode Bartleby the Prisoner.

I've got other lines but these are the ones uo should expect to remember. I didn't finish that sentence in the original one.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Wow. You do seem to notice a lot of details. You must have a good eye for spotting things!

Oh and by the way.. I want to wish you a very Happy New Year!!

  • @AloweWolf Same to you.

  • "Wake up what's going down That's the sound of freedom Check out this thing we found That's the sound of freedom" from the song The Sound of Freedom in the episode The ART Of Destruction

"I've been walking through this world alone. Wonderin' where I fit in, where do I belong? Now a miracle's happened to me I found my home" from the song I Found My Home in the episode Mobodoon

"Someday We are gonna be together Someday things will be so much better" from the song Someday in the episode Beginnins

  • 6 If you ever watch Sonic Underground expect the following lines from some of the songs (along with the song the lines are from and the episode each song is in)

"We are Sonic Sonic Underground" from the song We Are Sonic Underground in the episode Mummy Dearest

"No one no one is an island No one no one stands alone" from the song No One Is An Island in the episode Flying Fortress

  • 5. Have you seen the Family Guy parody of A New Hope (the parody is titled Blue Harvest)? If yes, then have you seen Something, Something, Something, Dark Side (the family guy parody of Empire Strikes Back)? And if yes to that then have you seen It's a Trap (the family guy parody of Return of the Jedi)?

  • @Funcoolfunfun Yes.. I believe I have now seen each of the Family Guy parodies that you mentioned, although I saw some of them quite a while ago. I thought they were very funny.

  • @AloweWolf We have the DVDs for all 3.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. And if Nintendo and Sega decided to team up again for a sequel, they could take it a step further by also having whatever causes them to swap places this time to also swap powers. Basically that means that Mario would gain red quills and blue sneakers, along with Sonic's speed, and Sonic would get a blue hat with a blue "S" where the "M" on Mario's hat is, red overalls, and blue boots and he would be able to shoot blue fireballs (since that's Mario's natural ability in SSBB).

  • @Funcoolfunfun LOL! Yeah! That sounds cool! It makes a great deal of sense to me.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. I think I know a way to get the 3 ideas (the SSBB themed game wiht characters from both worlds and the two games involving the two to end up in the other's world) to the two companies. The question is: Would they listen or would I have to actually go to the houses of the heads of the two companies?

  • @Funcoolfunfun Good Question! I think it sounds like it would be a great idea! But I am not sure what it would take to get them to listen.

Perhaps they would be open to the idea and listen.. but who knows?

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. I'll see if I can get the email addresses of the heads of the two companies.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Okay.. Good Luck! :)

  • @AloweWolf Thanks. By the way, some facts about 3 later episodes of Sonic X

1 In episode 37 J Rouge calls Knuckles a pervert. 2. In episode 39 4 more characters are introduced the first 3 for most of the episode in hilarious scenes, and one of their scenes breaks the 4th wall (in both versions). 3 This is the 2nd episode where the Japanese version is funnier than the english version and you'll find out why when you watch it. 4 Episode 40 has a new "filler" for the last 2 minutes from prev. eps.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Okay. Sounds interesting! ;)

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. Also the japanese version of episode 39 has the fourth wall broken two other times (besides the one that I mentioned). Also the japanese version of episode 40 has the fourth wall broken twice.

  • @Funcoolfunfun LOL! Yeah! They seem to break the fourth wall quite a bit.

You know sometimes it is sad just how much gets changed for the American version of episodes, as compared to the original Japanese versions. Often a lot is "lost" in the translation.. and/or lessened/simplified for the American audiences.

Much the same way that Japanese versions of games often include more/different things which get taken out of "our" versions. Seems like they get all the good stuff..

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. Some people feel that the English versions of the episode have some of the good stuff removed, but I can see why some of the parts of each episode were changed (like when Rouge calls Knuckles a pervert in the Japanese version of episode 37 (which I've already mentioned)).

  • @Funcoolfunfun Right. That's why it is good to check both versions (sometimes), to see if you are "missing" anything that could be funny/important.

By the way, I have not had much time to watch many episodes this past week.. but I did just finish episode 24 ("How to catch a Hedgehog") the one where Sonic could not stop running.

  • @AloweWolf Okay. By the way episode 47 is another episode where the Japanse version is funnier than the English version. For this one, however, it's because there's a whole two minutes or so of plot that's not in the English version at all. In the episode those two minutes (at least) of plot that's not in the English version involve Knuckles, Decoe, and Bocoe.

Also, let me know when you've seen episode 27, as well as what you thought of episode 26 (especially the last 6 minutes or so).

  • @Funcoolfunfun Okay.. I will. :)

  • @AloweWolf Thanks. By the way I've noticed that there are a few comments on the videos for the issues of the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie Comics on this website that basically say there are sexual references at certain points (like in the first part of the Sonic/Image crossover issue one of the comments said, "Rape face on!"). Comments like that are why I'm glad I'm watching (and have been watching) Sonic X on Hulu, so I don't have to see stupid comments like that.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Oh really? I can see why you would feel that way about such comments.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. Plus I've noticed a few points in episodes of Sonic X (either version of the episode) where the comment would be made and I have a good idea of what the comment is.

  • @AloweWolf By the way, episodes 47 and 48 are probably the two funniest episodes of season 2.

  • @AloweWolf Especially 48.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Really? Okay, I will keep that in mind. ;)

  • @Funcoolfunfun Okay.. I just watched episode 26 (Countdown to Chaos) and episode 27 (Pure Chaos)! Wow.. Some really surprising things have taken place! I was not expecting any of the events to occur the way they did. :)

For a while I was thinking... "What just happened??"

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. Now the reason why I wanted to know when you saw Pure Chaos is because, for some reason, when Chaos is in its "Zero Form" it looks kind of cute, in a wierd way.

Also, the best part of episode 26 was probably when Sonic turned into Super Sonic.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Yes! Agreed. Super Sonic was awesome! And you are right, the Chaos in it's lowest from does look kind of cute/basically harmless. LOL!

    Things are getting interesting!

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. And when you see flashbacks showing Chaos (in the "mini-series" of episodes that kind of circle on Chaos) it looks even cuter in its zero form when compared to how it looks in its higher forms (especially it's last form).

  • @Funcoolfunfun I'll bet it is! :)

  • @AloweWolf Also, I know it'll take you awhile, but also let me know when you've seen the last 3 episodes of season 2. There will be a few twists in what happens.

Also, its kind of cool how often they use the music you hear when Sonic became Super Sonic in episode 26.

  • @funcoolfunfun Okay.. I will. :) And, right, the music is cool!

  • @AloweWolf Okay. Now here are the hints for the highlights of episode 52:

    1. Eggman finds out that Amy has multiple hammers the hard way (you know what I mean).

    2. Knuckles and Rouge get in a fight but then they see Sonic in his super form shoot by in the sky and it turns playful (you'll know get it when you see it)

    3. Eggman makes Tails angry.

4 Tails finds out about a change that Chuck had made to the X Tornado

2 and 4 might seem confusing right now but it'll clear when you see episode 51

  • @Funcoolfunfun Okay. I will try and keep your points in mind once I get to the episode.

  • @AloweWolf Oh, this is something I just saw in an issue of the Knuckles comic series (made by Archie Comics (which also makes the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series)) (issue 25 to be exact) and in that issue you find out how Knuckles got the 2 spikes on ech hand and near the end you actually see one of his hands.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Oh really? That sounds interesting! ;)

  • @AloweWolf Which of my comments is this a reply to? It seems like it's a reply to the three with the song lyrics.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Oh LOL! I suppose it was actually a reply to what you said regarding how Knuckles got the two spikes on each hand. But it could also apply to the song lyrics you mentioned, now that I think about it!

  • @AloweWolf Okay. But if you actually listen to the songs (and of course watching the videos for each song) (whether it's through watching the episodes or watching the songs by themselves) and you listen to them multiple times (whether its watching the episodes multiple times or just the songs) more lyrics from more songs will start to get stuck in your head.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Yeah! :) I know how that can work, once you watch various things (several times over).. then a lot of it tends to begin to "stay with you". ;)

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. By the way I found out that another episode of AoSth is missing from Netflix besides the 21 I already knew about.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Really? That might make it rather hard to watch the series.

  • @AloweWolf It;s okay. I just look up the episode order on the Sonic Wiki and write down the next episode after the one I'm currently watching.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Okay.. I get it. Yeah.. doing that should help make things a whole lot less confusing.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. And just for fun I went to the pages for the episodes that have a page (which is most of the episodes) to see if there's any errors or fun side things in the background that I didn't notice the first time.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Right. Sometimes it is easy to overlook things and not see certain details. ;)

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. One of the errors (which is also in the video for one of the songs from Sonic Underground) is Sonic's arms become blue for a few moments.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Really? LOL! Yeah some times those error creep in.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. By the way, when you get to episodes 66, 68, 70, and 71 of Sonic X you should see the Japanese version of the episodes as well as the English version.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Okay.. I will! :)

  • @AloweWolf This morning I finished the Japanese version of the episodes (which means that I also finished watching the English version a second time). And the fourth wall is broken a grand total of 43 times in the Japanese episodes and 8 times in the english episodes. All of the characters that break it (in order of when they first break it) are:

Sonic, Eggman, Decoe and Bocoe, Amy, Vector, Espio, Charmy Bee, Chris, Professor Tatsuma (who's introduced in season 2), Knuckles, Rouge, and Bokkun.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Wow.. That is a whole lot of "breakage", to be sure.

It is interesting to note the relatively huge difference in the sheer number of times that the fourth is broken during the Japanese episodes, as compared to the English versions.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. By the way, going back to when I said it seemed a bit wierd no longer hating Sonic, well I think it might actually have been inevitable and I only thought that I hated him. The reason for that is the fact that my favorite color is blue and since Sonic is blue it was just a matter of time.

  • @Funcoolfunfun You know, that makes a lot of sense to me! :)

I think (as we mentioned before) there is sort of an expectation that of course those people who "like" Mario/Nintendo... absolutely must hate Sonic and all things related to him/Sega.

And that buying into this sort of thinking does not allow for such folks to get to know Sonic, and begin to like him. So I think it is possible for someone to "think" they hate Sonic.. when they actually probably do not or would not.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. Even though I usually try not to get philosophical, maybe there was always an "inner" version of me that was a fan of Sonic yet since I liked Mario first, I was unconciously suppressing it, so well that I wasn't even aware of it until I accidentally found out about Sonic X.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Right! That could be the case. Makes sense to me.

By the way, I have so far gotten as far as watching part of Episode 31 (Revenge of the Robot) on Sonic X. It seems like I have not had much spare time, but I am continuing to watch the episodes when I get a chance.

  • @AloweWolf Okay. By the way, I got a letter that I sent in to Game Informer printed in the latest issue. I don't have time right now to tell you the exact words that I had said or what their reply was, but my letter was basically my responce to them giving Sonic Generations a 6.75 (which is between limited appeal (which is a 6) and average (which is a 7)) in the issue that was numbered 2 less than the current one.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Oh? So I take it that they did not give the game very high marks then? I have never played the game myself, but I thought it looked good.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. You can read the review on Game Informer.com.

But here's the letter that I sent in: I hate how Tim says that Sonic Generations is a bad game. Even though I only recently started to like Sonic and haven't really played any of his games, that doesn't mean I'm going to take criticisms of any of them lightly. In fact, Sonic Generations should receive a 9 just for being a Sonic game.

  • @AloweWolf I had to split the letter into two parts though. The first reply to your comment is the first part.

  • @AloweWolf Oh by the way, in issue 79 of the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie Comic strip the second story has Knuckles in it and early on in that story you see his feet.

  • @AloweWolf By the way, when you finally manage to get to episode 67, you should watch both versions of the episode. The 4th wall is broken twice in the Japanese version.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Okay.. I will. :) I am (with some luck) just starting to resume watching episodes.

  • @AloweWolf By the way, the last issue of the Knuckles comic that I watched/read (the one after the one that I mentioned previously) had some very funny parts in it. Plus I agree with some of the comments that its a change of pace for the Knuckles comic.

  • @Funcoolfunfun I have not seen the Knuckles comic you mentioned.. But to me it seems as if Knuckles tends to always be rather serious about everything.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. But, like I said, the issue after the one where you see Knuckle's hand has Knuckles fall in love. And its very funny. Same thing with the next one.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Knuckles falls in love? That does sound different! It must have been funny!

  • @AloweWolf It was. He also talks to his dad (Locke) about it and after saying a few lines his dad pulls a spit take.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Really? LOL! :)

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. By the way how far into Sonic X are you right now?

  • @Funcoolfunfun Well it seems like since Christmas there has been a lot going on in my life, so I have not had a chance to watch any episodes for some time. :(

Hopefully that will change, once a few things get a bit more sorted out, and I will be able to continue watching episodes.

I will let you know when I get a chance to resume watching them.

  • @AloweWolf Other things that I want to tell you: 1 I've noticed that if I watch the video for a song enough times (such as the theme songs for both versions of Sonic X) I tend to pay more attention to the background music. 2 If you ever watch Sonic Underground on Netflix the episodes (besides the first and last one) are mixed up. 3 If you ever watch AoSth on Netflix the episodes are mixed up and 21 of them are missing.

    4. One of the things I got for Christmas was Sonic Classic Collection for DS

  • @Funcoolfunfun Really? I tend to notice things like the background music myself in various series. But then.. I have always "gotten into" music.. it can inspire me or move me/motivate me.

I bet you will enjoy the Sonic Classic Collection, given your recent interest in Sonic.

  • @AloweWolf I have been enjoying it. However I'm at a point where now I'm trying to get past one level in each game in the collection constantly. But I don't mind.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Really? That happens. I am sure if you keep working at it, in time you will pass any "problem" areas. Although some times being "stuck" repeating things for too long can get rather frustrating.. and sometimes can make one feel like giving up.

  • @AloweWolf Also fair warning for when you do get to season 3: You said that for a while during episodes 26 and 27 you were thinking, "What just happened?" Well there are going to be moments in season 3 (as well as the 3 episodes I've already mentioned but not as many) where you'll find it hard to keep track of what's going on. I know I did at some points in season 3 where I sort of lost track of what's going on and I'm usually good at keeping track of what's going on in an episode of a tv show.

  • @Funcoolfunfun LOL! Okay.. I will keep that in mind! Oh, and I hope you will have a Merry Christmas!

  • @AloweWolf Same to you.

  • @AloweWolf One last thing that I just remembered: Episode 52 is actually funnier than episodes 47 and 48. When you finally do get to it let me know.

  • @AloweWolf Actually 2 more things (until your reply):

    1. In the japanese version of episode 52 the fourth wall is broken yet again.

    2. If you would like any hints on the funny parts of episode 52 (mainly the english version though, of course), let me know in your reply.

  • @AloweWolf Also, in the episode, there's an interaction between Ella and Bokkun that has a hilarious result, although the result isn't seen until near the end of the episode.

  • @AloweWolf Yup. Actually, the fourth wall is broken one more time in that episode. It's near the very end.

  • @AloweWolf Yup. They've also said "hell" All that's left now are the words crap, ass, the word that means "female dog", and the f-bomb.

  • Sounds like Captain Beefheart

  • @AloweWolf The theme song is only 1 minute long (so that's only 66 minutes worth) and for the credits they play a funny thing in the background. You'll see what I mean. Also earlier today I finished watching AoSth and in the last episode (a christmas special) Tails is voiced by a different person. After that I watched Sonic the Movie (Sonic's voice and Tails' voice both sound understandably different from the other stuff). And before I made this reply I watched the first episode of SatAm.

  • if umbra was the enemy of dremloks who was the enemy of the dremloks clones the ewoks

  • It's funny how now I like Mario more than Sonic in video games, but the only thing that's been on tv that's about Mario and the others in the Mushroom Kingdom that I want to see is the Super Mario Brothers live action movie (even though most people don't like it) and yet I want to see all of the tv shows with Sonic as one of the main characters. Well I think I've gone on long enough.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Wow. Sonic X does sound cool!

LOL! I kind of know what you mean by "suddenly starting to like something".

It can happen all at once.. you just "get into" something.

I know what you mean, because a while back I had seen parts of an cartoon/anime series "Zatch Bell" (or Gash Bell). And I got curious, and ended up watching the the whole thing - including the japanese episodes, because I just had to see what happened.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. Right now I've already finished episode 35 of Sonic X and episode 17 of Sonic Underground (which I mentioned in one of my other comments). I actually started watching Sonic Underground using the instant Streaming from netflix on my family's Wii and I haven't even finished SOnic X yet. But I think the weirdest part about watching the two shows one after the other (because as soon as I get the chance I get on the Wii and watch the next episode of Sonic Underground). See next post.

  • Anyway the weirdest part about watching the two shows without finishing one of them before I start watching the other is that I don't find the differences weird at all. But not only should you see Sonic X but you should also see Sonic Underground (which was the last series that was not only out before Sonic got his current look (with the green eyes and taller body) but was also the Sonic show that came out right before Sonic X). See next post.

  • When you do watch Sonic Underground (but wait until you see the first 4 episodes of Sonic X) Sonic's voice will sound quite different. Also Sonic Underground has very little to do with the games or Sonic X (except for the fact that Dr. Robotnik (even though his "current" name is Dr. Eggman) is the main villain). It also has a completely different plot line from Sonic X. And when you get to episode 17 be prepared for a bigger surprise. But wait until you see some episodes of Sonic X first,

  • @AloweWolf Also, you'll probably find that the funniest episode of season 1 (for Sonic X (to avoid any confusion with Sonic Underground)) will be episode 20 (the english version is called "Cruise Blues"). And there's one episode of season 2 that will introduce a surprise character. I feel like that's all I can say about that episode without giving away who the surprise character is. But let me know when you've finished those episodes and what you think of them (and the rest of the series).

  • @AloweWolf It would be cool if Sega decided to make a prequel Sonic game (naturally called Sonic Origins) where, during the first part of the game (because you would also find out about most of the other characters' past after completing Sonic's story), you discover how Sonic got his red shoes (as well as what happened to his parents). Because, looking at his history, he starts off as a 15 year old hedgehog, but Sega's never filled in that 14 year gap. Plus, he's always had his red shoes on.

  • @Funcoolfunfun LOL! It is funny you should mention that, because I too was wondering about his red shoes .. and his past -- just before I read you post.

  • @AloweWolf By the way, have you seen any episodes of Sonic X yet?

    Also here's a wierd story:

Until I started watching Sonic X, I've never run up to the chair in front of the computer in my family's living room and then jump off of it when going from my room to the kitchen and back. But ever since that night, any time i go from my room to the kitchen and back, I find running up to the chair and jumping off of it fun. Now if you've seen the first episode of Sonic X, you'll see why that is wierd.

  • @AloweWolf By the way, you should also look up Sonic the Hedgehog comic. The first "full" issue is the one that has #1 in front of it.

  • @AloweWolf When you get to episode 67 of Sonic X be prepared for Sonic to do a surprising transformation near the end.

  • @AloweWolf You should also look up Sonic the Comic on this website..

  • @AloweWolf Why haven't you responded to my comments?

  • @Funcoolfunfun Sorry. I had meant to get back to you, but It seems like I have not had much time this week.

So far all I have only managed to watch are the first two episodes of Sonic X, but I do like the look of the series! :)

You had made a comment about running up to and/or jumping off of the chair, in relation to the first episode.. and I may have missed something in the episode.. but what was the connection?

Very sorry about not getting back to you sooner..

  • @AloweWolf I'm not sure. Maybe it was when I watched one of the other episodes. And that's okay. By the way did you see my other two comments about the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie comics and the Sonic the Comic. You probably did but I just want ot be sure.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Yep.. I noticed your post about the comic.. just have not had a lot of spare time this week.

Sorry about not getting back to you. Sonic is cool.

Now if I can only find the time to watch a few more episodes..

  • @AloweWolf When you get into issue 7 of Sonic the Comic watch for Sonic to do a surprise transformation. It will have the same name as one of his other transformations but a completely different effect.

  • @AloweWolf When you watch the episodes of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, one person who comments regularly will always have a comment involving the word "pingas".

  • @Funcoolfunfun Yup.. I am still watching (and enjoying) episodes of Sonic X.. I just have not had a lot of free time.. so it is taking quite a while.

  • @AloweWolf Let me know when you've seen episode 20. In the meantime, let's try to keep this conversation going.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Right. Well, I am enjoying the series thus far. I just wish I had more spare time! :)

  • @AloweWolf Okay. By the way, I'm actually making a list of when I get to a point in watching all of the Sonic stuff (meaning not just the shows but also the comics and the specials) that (to me) is a milestone (like when I first watched Sonic X). That way I can look at it in the future for nostalgia purposes.

  • @Funcoolfunfun That sounds cool! LOL! You know, I think I know what you mean in regards to looking back at things. I tend to be rather nostalgic myself! :)

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. Some people, who are die hard Mario fans that think that my sudden interest in Sonic means that I no longer like Mario and they would probably think the fact that I'm making a list of the "milestones" that I reach with his stuff and not with Mario's stuff is proof that I now think that Sonic is better than Mario. But to those people I would say this to them in person: I've been a Mario fan longer than I can remember. It would be too difficult to start now.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Right. I hear you! I have always been more of a Mario fan myself. And many folks seem to think liking one of these two (Mario/Sonic) mascots means you must absolutely hate the other with a passion.

But I am now starting to think Sonic is rather cool. I had honestly never looked very much into Sonic before this point.

And I think there is no reason that a person can't like both of them. :)

  • @AloweWolf Exactly. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who's in that "pure white line" right in the middle of the two where they are equal. By the way how far have you gotten in Sonic X?

  • @Funcoolfunfun Right! I certainly agree. Both Sonic and Mario are cool. The more I have watched Sonic the more I can say I have truly come to really like him.

Unfortunately I have continued to be rather busy.. but all the same, I am watching Episode 9 now..

  • @AloweWolf Okay. By the way, if/when you watch Sonic the Movie (probably after you get done with Sonic X), there will be two moments where, if the movie had originally been filmed in the U.S., what happens would have been edited. One moment will be early on and the other will be near the end. You'll see what I mean once you get the chance to watch it.

  • @AloweWolf By the way, right now my dad's watching the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade and one thing that I saw onscreen was a Sonic balloon.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Really? LOL! That's cool! :) By that way.. Hope you all had an enjoyable Thanksgiving!!

  • @AloweWolf Yes it was cool. Thanks. It was enjoyable. By the way, I'll probably finish watching the Sonic the Hedgehog SatAm series tomorrow. Then, when I'm done, I'll start watching all of the shows (as well as the movie and Night of the Werehog) a second time. But this time, I'll watch the Japanese version of each episode of Sonic X after I watch the English version of the episode.

  • @Funcoolfunfun That sounds cool.. Have Fun! ;)

  • @AloweWolf Thanks. By the way, I found out that one of the actors in the SatAm series also voiced Kneesa during Season 1 of Ewoks. I looked that up on IMDB out of curiousity, to see why some of the voices of some of the characters in SatAm were familiar.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Oh really? LOL! I have noticed stuff like that with some other animated series. You can be watching something.. and suddenly think.. "Hey that voice is starting to sound awfully familiar.."

  • @AloweWolf By the way, I forgot to ask but how funny did you find episode 1 of Sonic X?

Also, after you do manage to finish watching it, you should then watch the Japanese version of each episode. I just finished the first one and some of the parts that were cut out from the English version were funny.

  • @Funcoolfunfun I thought it was pretty funny! And I bet there are some differences in the Japanese version. :)

  • @AloweWolf There are a few differences in the Japanese version, but mainly in the translations of the dialogue. But there is one thing that's included in every episode of the Japanese version that I've seen so far that's not in the English version. After the third commercial break in each episode, you see Sonic watching that episode of Sonic X on TV. Major breaking the 4th wall.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Really? LOL! That sounds different!

  • @AloweWolf Also, in the Japanese version, Sonic says the "S" word in the second episode and the word "damn" is said a few times.

  • @Funcoolfunfun Okay. I kind of know what you mean.. it seems like as a rule the Japanese versions of things often.. can include things that might not be shown so freely in here in the United States. Things like "rougher" language and/or suggestive themes.

  • @AloweWolf Yeah. Another word that was removed that was said in one of the first few episodes (and I've only heard-in-Japanes/read-the-english-translation-of-it once) is the "b" word (not the word that actually means "female dog" but the other b word).

  • @Funcoolfunfun LOL! Right. ;)

  • @AloweWolf Also, how much farther have you gotten in Sonic X?

  • @Funcoolfunfun It has been rather slow going due to my lack of time, but I just finished episode 13.

  • @AloweWolf Okay. From now on, let me know how far you've gotten to in the series every Monday, that way I won't have to keep asking.
