This looks so good! I love pasta! i never eat a full meal like this before i train, i usually just drink a protain shake but I think i'll try this, just to switch things up. Since this this is your pre- workout meal, do you take a creatine right after eating this?

@MsAussieoioioi Work them every day hard and heavy just like the kids in Karate or gymnast. Those kids have great calves and worked them every day, Your calves are use to being overworked just by walking. Jump rope as well. When you're driving a car, flex them. Flex them every chance that you get. In your calve workouts, vary your feet positions, like heels out, heels straight, heels in. They may not get huge, but I think you'll have enough development and shape you can be proud of.

He's a Grits, Eggs, Cheese, Chicken, Beef, rice kinda guy.
He is going for food with the most amount of protein. If you are already on a 3000+ calorie a day diet and saturating with protein there's no room in the gut for veggies.
Nothing wrong with Veggies, for bodybuilding they take the back seat. If you are cutting and adjusting your caloric intake then veggies and fruits may help.

Doesn't look healthy because there's pasta? you NEED CARBS to gain, i hope you know that. and he's taking this in before a workout so this guy knows what he's doing for a pre workout meal. and as for veggies and fruits. alot of pro's take in a 100% cranberry or pomegranate juice for a post for simple carbs. and bb's do eat veggies its a good source of carbs, bb's arent stupid. this guy probably already took in his veggie source
@angelac543 Yeah he just shows one meal. Maybe he adds vegetables to some other meal and fruits to some meal. I a couple of fruits a day and vegetables one to three times a day with the meals but when I watch videos of bodybuilders not many of them shows if they eat fruits and vegetables. I don't know any bodybuilders who think they eat healthy. Bodybuilders don't pretend to eat healthy. They eat in such a way as to provide maximum muscle growth and minimal fat gain. If you are mistaking 'optimal' with 'healthy' then that's your fault. Lean/muscular and healthy are two very different things. Most bodybuilders know the difference.
@donovanbrambila Wow you have no idea how mistaken you are. All the body builders I know personally (natural body builders) eat extremely healthy. They also take a lot of good supplements like fish oil, flax seed, magnesium etc. It's the ugly ass steroid users that eat the shit food and don't care about what they put in their body. @angelac543 are your fruits grown in your backyard? because if not they are pretty close to empty when it comes to minerals and vitamins. thats why its suggested to take vitamins whether you weight lift or not. although fruits and vegetables break them selves down in the stomach with their own enzymes saving our own for things that dont give us them like meats. making it more energy efficient but other then that fruits and vegies are not as healthy store bought whether "organic" or not
@WESSLYJ not trying to be nitpicky, but assuming you're talking about the sugars in the veggies and fruits...they aren't broken down in the stomach. sugars like starch and disaccharides begin digestion in the mouth, and complete the process in the small intestine. the acidity of the stomach simply destroys the enzyme (salivary amylase) that gets digestion started in the mouth, but no further digestion takes place in the stomach. the small intestine is where most of the digestion takes place

@heavye503 ive learned half this in class. its very easy to find things though. i cant post sites. although if you dont use the right key words then you wont find anything so use terms like "enzymes digest vegetables" and "empty store bought fruits" one obvious reason they are more nutrient at home is the GE crops and other things which saps the nutrients and damages the soil making it hard to replenish the nutrients. make sure its more recent studies, some old studies tried disproving this stuf

Early morning from not eating when u sleep and after workout when you've burned everything up and you body is in a glucose depleted state. Whole grains and brown rice take to long to breakdown. I use those though out the day and 2 hours before workout because Ill have continuos card intake during workout. U have to experiment. One size doesn't all.

@EricB042389 keep in mind not all white rice are high gylcemic, long grain white rice is the same as brown rice without the husk however it does have less nutrients, and basmati rice is one of the best rices you can get your hands on!
@barthelfitness Yeah. I used to eat white rice when I was younger and was never fat but I could eat tons of carbs and not get fat. Many Asians eat white rice and like most Japanese are skinny like not fat. LOL I don't know if there are many bodybuilders in Japan or only skinny people and sumo wrestlers.
Just curious...how do you get ideas for meals? I'm trying to increase my calories using clean food to build muscle, but I always get stuck on chicken breast with rice or ground turkey, some salsa and brown rice. There must be some other good food, I guess.... Any advice you have would be helpful.
@Andrew8524 Try making an egg white omelette...it is freakin delicious, and if done right, should be only about 300 kcal depending on what you put into it.... Try this: 6-7 egg whites 1-2 whole eggs 1 cup chopped spinach 1/4 inch cut of red onion 3-6 cherry tomatoes diced 1/4 inch cut red and green pepper cut 3 cloves fresh Garlic diced/minced Dash of cracked peppercorn Dash of Salt Delicious, essential fats, complex carbs, and high biological value protein! :)

Me personally I think white rice is good. Yeah it is a high glucose card but when is it needed the most. Early morning from not eating when u sleep and after workout when you've burned everything up and you body is in a glucose depleted state. Whole grains and brown rice take to long to breakdown. I use those though out the day and 2 hours before workout because Ill have continuos card intake during workout. U have to experiment. One size doesn't all.

@Frankii3 White rice = high glycemic and makes your body store fat...hence whole wheat/grain and brown/wild rice...

@EricB042389 keep in mind not all white rice are high gylcemic, long grain white rice is the same as brown rice without the husk however it does have less nutrients, and basmati rice is one of the best rices you can get your hands on!

@barthelfitness Yeah. I used to eat white rice when I was younger and was never fat but I could eat tons of carbs and not get fat. Many Asians eat white rice and like most Japanese are skinny like not fat. LOL I don't know if there are many bodybuilders in Japan or only skinny people and sumo wrestlers.

Oatmeal.. Very Lean Beef.. Whole wheat pasta like above.. Duck, Lamb.. Egg Whites.. theres alot.. do research

@fleury1991 Duck and Lamb are naturally fatty animals...I would never recommend those....
If anything, lean chicken breast, 93% lean red meat, salmon, tuna for meat...

Just curious...how do you get ideas for meals? I'm trying to increase my calories using clean food to build muscle, but I always get stuck on chicken breast with rice or ground turkey, some salsa and brown rice. There must be some other good food, I guess.... Any advice you have would be helpful.
