amazing fire attack. great job. most departments might have hit the exterior. i know i would have went interior. best way to hit the fire and to cuddle it. lol but great job guys. and always 1 3/4 on an interior attack, easy to move around.
Guys from a brother up in the NE, been around the job since 1980(also a PA State Fire Instructor, blitz with a 2 1/2 from the outside first then advance to the inside with a 1 3/4 on a job like this. These wood frames ain't worth dying for.Big fire = big water/lines.Commend the zeal but guys use your heads,This may bring bragging rights back at the house but sooner or later somebody will go 6 ft under if you keep this up.This job could have been knocked down much quicker with bigger water .
@megaweld7018 On a small house like this, a 1 3/4 is fine. With the typical small rooms in these houses, you're not going to be effective with the big line because you just can't get to the fire with all the walls in the way. If this were a garage or other structure that was more open, ie; one room, I'd say use a 2 or 2 1/2.
You can make a quick attack with the 1 3/4 and stop the interior spread just fine with a smooth bore. You won't have the manpower to pull two lines right away anyway.
Nice Video. . . Excellent Job by the Engine Company Advancing as They Did. That was a well involved structure and to see a great knock down like that is terrific.
Obiviously a good dept, but the wrong line/attack for a fire this size.A good exterior hit with a 2 1/2 blitz line first on a job like this then a interior hit with a 1 3/4. Been around this for a long time and I'm a instructor up in the NE and get amazed when I see this kind of attack on a building that isn't worth it. Big fire = big lines. This kind of attack would be ok on a 1 room job on a wood frame .A good blitzing from the outside would have wrapped this up in a heartbeat.
Nice job on the fire fighting! Videogra[her, a tripod would be great.
Silly comment: I always want to put a squirt of water on that ring of fire crawling from the structure.

There are two guy inside the house going to town on that fire. Why isn't anyone hitting it from outside?
