As an APP employee I can tell you that our heparin comes from China as well, the difference is that we have secured our supply chain, from birth to slaughter to manufacturing, our hogs are traced...like cattle for mad cow disease...Baxter didn't do that, and as a result, their supply was purposely contaminated in China with a look a like ingredient that was deadly to some patients. Pharmaceutical ingredients MUST be more tightly controlled and regulated, or it's only the tip of the iceberg here

So amazing that the US Gov said drugs from Canada were not safe for American consumption, yet they get drugs from China and there is no real FDA type of group investigating whether drug producers in CHINA are safe.

I believe my Mother is one of the people that had bad Heparin. I don't know how to find out? She was cremated. I don't know what to do or if i should do anything. The news of this bad heparin came out on the anniversary of her death this year. She was fine in the hospital, they gave her heparin because she takes blood thinners and they wanted to break up the clots that formed from her stroke. She immediately went into a coma and died a couple hours later.
