  • whoa crazy stuff......

  • I saw these guys in '95 doing dual drumkits, drummer and the main singer sat accross from eachother on sets connected, and did this same motion.

  • hes gooddd woooo and dizy

  • What is really awesome is that Duncan Phillips wasn't even the original drummer until 1997. He was their bassist and keyboardist! Peter Furler was the original drummer until he took over lead vocalist duties.

  • Anointed beats!

  • i was there it was soo kewl i was like woah and my friends were like wooah and then every one else was like woaahh lol

  • they did this 2011,, on ignite consert,, incredibel,, he the bomb!!!

  • I saw them during the Go tour and the spinning drums were impressive, regardless of who did it first or who did it best. One thing the others probably can't say is that they built the rig themselves, like Duncan did with his own hands. Now that's cool.

  • Nice but Earth Wind and Fire did it better in the 70's. The way the drum spent was around as a circle like a clock while the guy played

  • Love it when he does that!!!

  • niiice, i set up that kit when they came to little john coliseum and i worked the show. pretty awesome set up!

  • why does everyone have to argue about how good it is or who did it first? He did it for GOD, not you. He was doing something to worship th Lord, not you. So, while you guys are fighting over everything, GOD is smiling upon him. The Bible says to make a joyful noise. To praise HIM and that is exactly what this drummer is doing. We should all try to be GOD-like and GOD would be grateful, so why not be grateful too?

  • @ChoirGurl09 and you know what's awesome? this drummer is anointed. That made him more big ^_^ that's what other's don't get :)Being anointed is a massive difference, and that separates them from being just a talented person ^_^

  • Who is the Original JC POWER. GOD BLESS

  • i saw this in person about 2 hours ago, i couldn't believe what i was seeing at first.

  • that is the coolest thing i have ever seen

  • did he throw up?

  • I met this guy, He treated me like he was meting up with a old friend, and NOT just a fan!! Duncan Is so down to earth, and very sweet hearted, plus that 1 million watt smile helps. He is 1 million times nicer than ether joey jordison or Tommy Lee.

  • shitty drum solo on a rotating plat form, not impressed

  • Stunts on the drum set were being performed before joey jordison of slipknot did it, He was just the most renounced drummer that did it... but as far as the copycat thing goes... You all need to respect the fact that people will be followers... Primarily Christians... they're the most un-original stereotypical "sheeple" on this planet... so just accept the fact that thay'll never come up with anything original... period

  • joey jordison?????haha

  • SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO coooL!

Who cares if they're copy-cats, its amazing when you can do something like that!

  • I guarantee joey jordison doesnt have a clue who these guys are lol And if there ever was a drum off between this newsboys guy and joey lets just say joey would kill him entirely, ya joey overuses the double bass pedal but im sure he knows how to use the entire drum set also, after all how come the whole world has heard of joey jordison and not this guy, lol joeys doing something right if you ask me

  • Slipknot was better in this!

  • @MrYaYx Hahaha, look up a longer video. Slipknot has nothing compared to this guy, except double bass pedals.

  • Tommy Lee did it first

  • I saw these guys at Knott's today! They did the same thing!

  • Haha, I went to this concert, It was boss(:

  • Actually, no, they didn't. The Newsboys formed in 1985, Slipknot formed in 1995. Ten years later. The Newsboys were already doing things like this in the 80s, and Slipknot didn't have their debut album until 1998. I have all of Slipknot's CDs and none of the Newsboys' albums, so I am not at all biased - Just the facts. ;)

  • @rawrmyuuchan Tommy Lee invented it in 1987 and first did it in tacoma and talked about it. His went upside down too Joey Jordisons only went 90 degrees

  • and skipknot copied Buddy Rich...but w.e

  • No they did not...Their original circulating drum solo were in 2000 in PA on the concert "one night in PA"

  • Thats better like Joey Jordison!

  • i just seen the drumer last night at walt diney world he was the shit

  • i went to a newsboys concert and they did the drum solo

now newsboys cant do the drum solo because the new singer doesnt know how to play the drums

  • no this guy did it first, joey jordison copied him and this solo is way better than joey's this guy just doesn't do double bass

  • I can't stand Newsboys, but this was amazing!

  • I just saw them in concert tonight!! That was amazing!!

  • I saw them do that. It was one of the coolest things I've ever seen!

  • i went and saw them last night and they did this!! it rox!

  • that would feel weird 0.0 not only that, but it would so hard to do that and not drop a stick

  • i get to see this tonight!!!

  • Just saw these guys in Relands this past week and this solo thing

    Pretty cool stuff !!

  • i saw this last nite in tennesse!!

  • i just saw this yesterday in Longview TX! it was AMAZING! so cool! i got LOTS of pictures lol.

  • this is a bit like that slipknot one where the guy goes upside down and stuff

  • This is no rip off or copy cat. He has been doing this for a long time. I remember seeing this for the first time back in the early to mid 90's during the shine/take me to your leader days, back then he was on a flying saucer, actually the whole band lowered down in saucers from the roof, they put on a really good show, those were def the glory days of Christian rock, back when it was new and freash...

  • back before christian bands became mainstream

  • this dude murders joey jordinson for one duncan is a christian and can play just as good as him :) in my opinion anyway

  • yeah opinion is key here , maybe august burns red or the showdown's first drummer might compare ....

  • lol newsboys been around way fucking longer than Slipknot.

  • oh my gosh! what copy cats!

i think the no one should play the guitar cuz they are just copying the first guy that played the guitar. and A-G, and everything in between has been copyrighted. So please, find some different notes.

by the way guys, leave the drumming to cavemen please, obviously we cant copy them.

"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun." Ecclesiastes 1:9

  • they are being a bad influence by playing playing drums on a spinning platform? that doesn't even make sense. if i remember right, the joey jordison drum solo that is the most common on youtube flaunts an inverted pentagram, which is a symbol of satanism. do you see an inverted pentagram on this video? don't think so. if newsboys aren't doing it to be rebellious, cause trouble, and offend, can you tell me what difference it makes? be mature. stray from unecessary words.

  • who cares if they did it before newsboys?

  • They didn't. I saw these guys back in 96 or 97 where they did that.

  • Sure, slipknots drummer is better, I agree. But why insult these guys? they're great musicians, they have a lot of talent, and they honor God in what they do. There's nothing more honorable than that

  • Slipknot's IS waaaay better but there is no need to swear over it. A lot of little kids watch stuff like this on youtube.

  • This video doesn't do it justice. I saw these guys live and they were incredible!!!

  • amen.

  • check out my vid of him loosing his snare drum at awakening fest

  • Okay wether they did it or not...dont be putting your stupid comments on here if you aint got anything good to say...and some advice....clean up your language...

  • @sk8rboyjames Hey, if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything!! BTW the term fag means "GAY MAN" if you don't believe me LOOK it up. BTW saying bad words makes you sound very STUPID, and week minded!!!!! Oh and I hope that I made you mad cos that means I win and you lose!!!!!!! Just so you know NOTHING you can say will get me to give you the reaction that you want, cos I have class, and I will hold my head up and take whatever verbal abuse that you throw at me.

  • @TaliBruner it's weak-minded, not week minded, and I think you DID give sk8rboyjames the reaction he wanted. just sayin.

  • @MicheleDoenges I meant Weak-Minded, Im dyslexic, and I think sk8rboyjames wanted me to get pissed off, plus he needs his mouth washed out with soap. He was cussing like a sailor... and he called my friend a fag(meaning of word is "Gay man') and My dear friend is not gay.

  • Actually, I hate to tell you but the Newsboys were doing this at least as early as the mid 90's. I was at some of the concerts back in the day when they were doing this. Still might have been another band to do it before them though I guess, but it wasn't slipknot.

  • they did the exact same thing at thr dogde theater

  • i saw this live at rev gen

  • i love this. i saw it at creation this year - everyone was so excited anticipating it :)!

  • insane

  • Actually, Newsboys had been around years before slipknot even became a band, So i guess you can say that Slipknot stole that from Newsboys, but they both probably got it from someone else.

  • Guess who did it first........

  • i was there. probably my favorite year. family force five owned that stage. me and my buddy got talked to by the security guards because we crowd surfed and started so many mosh pits. my favorite.

  • If you were the guys doing the crowd surfing and starting the moshing, then you knocked me over like three times. Thanks a lot. :P

  • i'm sorry.

  • OMG BEASTLY!

  • i saw them do this at sonshine!!!

    it was sick

  • just saw them last night @ ignite chicago and they did the same thing as part of their encore...most amazing thing i've ever seen!

  • me too it was (sic)

  • This is the most insane thing ever! I've seen it twice at their concerts and it still amazes me every single time.

  • I went and saw them at the 2008 King's Island Spirit Song. They were awesome. It was my first concert and it was awesome. Casting Crowns and The David Craowder band were also awesome.

  • dude I would throw up that takes talent

  • NEWSBOYS ROCK OUT LOUD!!!!!!!!!

  • i wasw here and im gonna upload a clip from my point of view.

  • wooows i saw that 2 days ago at gaylord mi and it was amazin i loved it

  • i went to the one in austin, texas. i would have taken a video of it on my phone but i was to busy being amazed!!!!

  • Tommy Lee didn't do this first, check out Buddy Rich in 1970...

  • Whether or not he did it first doesn't really matter, does it? They say that there's nothing new under the sun, and even if it's been done before, it's still an amazing thing for our generation to see. I see it as a great symbol of his talent as a drummer, as well, that he can keep his composure during such a stunt, and never falter on one single beat. Old or new trick, it's still cool. :)

  • wow, ok joey jordison!!! he took that from him, exactly!!! and he took that from tommy lee's lowering drumset

    its not original

  • no joey jordison took that from him because sadly the newsboys have been around a little longer than slipknot... and as far as tommy lee goes , his drumset spun backwards not around.. so there again...WRONG!!!... check your sources before putting down someone, because there is originality in different forms

  • yeah, that was pretty much the most amazing thing i have ever seen live!

  • holy shizz

  • I saw it live last night! It was actually SO loud! I loved it! NEWSBOYS ROCKED OUT REDMOND LAST NIGHT!

  • Last night in Missoula Mt I saw the Newsboys. They were AWESOME!!! They Blew me away when they did thier Drun Solo. Who said that "Christins can't have fun" because boy oh boy did I have fun. Thank you Jesus for giving us such wonderful people to worship you. Amem.

  • My friend and I were there at the concert and It rocked!

  • Haha, I don't listen to them at all but I was extremely amazed when I saw this last summer.

  • oh my gosh that is some awesome!!!! I've seen like 100 times but it never gets old!!!

  • 4 reals this never gets old! i love watching newsboys live! it is soo coo!!!

    I <3 newsboys!!

  • haah Omg! Its like slipknot! except unlike slipknot, it doesnt suck!.
