As an locomcotive engineer for the CN. I will not miss the low horsepower of the sd40 s and the loudnest. You can even hear yourself talk they are so loud. I hired out with the IC in 1999. The new locomotives are less nosy and 4400 horsepower is better than 3000 HP. Some of 6000s was so old they were old GMO engines.

Sad that about half the power there is gone, all but 8 black IC SD40-2s and all the WC SD40-2s. Unfortunatly CN is selling a lot of the retired stuff to a scrapped in Chicago Heights and another scrapper in Georgia.

Yeah...I know. I don't understand why they "need" to get rid of perfectly good power just for the new expensive junk.... I regret deeply about not going out to catch "just another IC SD40"... So much can change in so little time..

Yeah, before ya know it, all the IC, GTW, WC, EJ&E, DM&IR, BC Rail and B&LE power will be gone and there will be nothing but CN Dash 9s, GEVOs, SD70M-2s and SD75Is.

New Junk aka SD70M-2s which are made from EMD, they are always causing problems.. They havent been able to get it straight since the SD40.

Thanks Andrew. That sucks about the SD40s...what is so wrong about them? It's just plain wrong. Don't scrap perfectly good units just because of the economic slowdown..

Well a lot of songs are now not accepted to the YouTube database due to their copyright infringement policy. You just have to look for the right song and make sure they know that you do NOT want to infringe the copyright of the song.
