I LOVE AUSTRALORPS! Such friendly enjoyable chickens! Not to mention the abundance of eggs! I highly recommend the breed, to anyone who wants a VERY friendly, great layer, and as a great pet and companion!
Excellent, well done. Your flock looks to be healthy and happy. Did your spec sussex get frostbit on the comb? That happened to my buff orpington a few nights ago, got down to -12. Your rooster is amazing. I have a red that pecks me too, if im too slow on the feed. Watching chicken videos is the next best thing to seeing my own- but mine are sleeping right now. thank you.
i think HE is a Hamburgh, although not so perferct for the standard...the black australorp hen seems to be the queen of the yard: the others run away from her!!
Nice chickens! Looks like some Rhode Island Reds, Black Australorps, Speckeled Sussex and Silver Spangled Hamburg? I would guess a hamburg over a Egyptian Fayoumis but its hard to tell
What a wonderful free range environment you have there! I'm so pleased to see and hear such contented birds. You can also tell, they are very comfortable with the person doing the videoing. ("> Thank you for sharing FIVE STARS!
I think you're right. There are so many breeds of chickens that I've never even heard of, and Siver Spangled Hamburg was one of them. He is a pretty rooster, only moderately agressive so far. Of course it's cold enough now that all the chickens are pretty much confined to the barn and going a little stir crazy.
hi there, cute vid! woz wonderin, i have a couple of chicks, which are a month old, i think one is a hen the othr mite be a cock(he appears a bit more aggresive n in2 playfighting than the othr one) how can i tell the gender? and how old wud they have to be to have a brood of their own and is there any way in which i cud get them broody? look forward to your reply, thanx!
both of them have the same feet and shanks(legs) but the way you can tell the differance is the hamburgs have black like dots on there feathers and the fayoumis have black strips and also the fayoumis has a single comb not a rose comb
my australorps follow me as my dog follows me, they are very friendly and easy pet chickens, they lay 6 eggs a week or 270+ eggs a year,

I considered whether he was a Hamburg, but settled on the Fayoumis identification because of his blue/gray feet.
