But Canada is the dominate force in hockey like it or not. It's true that more superstars are coming from places other than Canada but there are still a shit load coming from Canada. And then we have way more depth then any other country. 2nd line players in the NHL get around say 50 points a year right? Well in 2010-11 season there were 46 Canadian born players that had 50 or more points and another 26 within 5 points of 50. That's 72 Canadian born players pushing 50 points. America had 22 players pushing 50. Sweden had 13 and Russia had 5.

Canada sees the majority of the usa as a place where the majority of teams have a poor following, and thus undeserved teams representing the city. We understand detroit and minnesota have good followings (and a few others) but places that have won cups (such as dallas) have no business representing in this league, which pisses us off because bettman keeps pushing these teams to succeed.
i'm from Toronto, and honestly I love how entitled all Canadians feel when they talk about hockey and it's tradition but insulting and ridiculing Americans every time they try to involve themselves in hockey is stupid, and it makes us as Canadians look cocky. For hockey to grow even more we need the support of America, but I truly believe that moving Atlanta to Winnipeg is in the better interest of the NHL. Hopefully the remaining southern American teams can stay and become good hockey markets.

I think this is horrible but i don't think its one of the worst hockey accident i´vee seen. Last year in January a Hockey judge died during a match between junior team in Northern Sweden. In a little town called Ramsele where happens to be where i live. He died when a player shoot the puck and it hit him right in the neck. Im sorry for my bad English! I was at that game. I'm a CBJ fan but it sucks when such a good player gets hurt like that. "Skate to the groin" is what espn said.....ow. Sure was a lot of blood. I guess he's back though. He had a pretty amazing save on sportscenter top ten either yesterday or the day before.

@majj1022 I am also Canadian and agree with your statement. Hockey was invented by Canadians and is Canada's games; however, as with every sport, players can come from any country. One thing I will add though is that players from different countries have different play styles which are often common in a specific country. For example Canada *generally* produces the best power forewards and defensemen.

I'm from Michigan and hockey is very big. Although i would still say many people here are not very knowledgable the ones that are, follow it with a passion. I watch and play any hockey I can. Follow all the prospects too. I would guess people like ourselves know far more than the average canadian about hockey.
