I need to buy grandia 3 but I was side tracked with final fantasy series and still am but grandia I liked a lot too bad they sold their company out and merged with square they should of stayed the way they were.

It really does. I wanted to play this game so bad. I guess it wasn't very popular in America (that's how we get games. If it's popular in America, then it'll be sold in Europe and Australia).

I swear, this game was better than Grandia Xtreme. The music is not as memorable as part two but it's okay in terms of energetic and memorable.

I personally felt a general disappointment playing Grandia III. The linearity of the story was acceptable, but the way they tried to disguise it was annoying. The mode of travel was a promise of freedom which they had no conviction of following through on, which soured the experience.

Also, the characters themselves were shallow and uninteresting. Worse was when big plot developments arose that were not warranted by any of their actions beforehand (esp. the backstabbing Chinese henchman).

@MediaUser I remember having played Grandia 1 when i had rented it. I wanted more of it, but never went far as I was too busy at the time to play it. A shame since I can't seem to find it anymore.

Grandia 2, when I touched that... I was hooked all the way to the end. Towards the end, some of the graphic was iffy (Still picture of the final boss, seriously?). But I was definitely hooked.

Something feels lacking about Grandia 3, though the sensation of imaginatino is still present in the opening

I hate the story in this game, but the gameplay is fantastic, so I replay it every now and then. This is not Iwadare's best work (that would be either Grandia II or Lunar 2), but this is still a strong battle theme.
