Nazis and Soviets made the same things in different ways. Democracy is the only solution. Tolitarism both Nazis or Soviets were cruel system of life. Estonia had to suffer for quite 50 years of Soviet occupation....many Estonian were deported in Siberia where they died. Many other Estonian lost their houses and had to learn Russian that got compulsory language

@fabienik well democracy just means the totalitarianism of the masses. You sure wouldnt agree that majority should be able to just vote on who you should marry or that they can steal all your property and so on. What counts is LIBERTY (personal and economical) and goverment that doesnt have the power to interfere with ones live. Democracy should be very strictly limited. Because you should live your life how you see fit and not how majority says.

@Jigssaw1989 i agree with you Liberty is the only way. Democracy means liberty...no nazi no soviet no fascist. Here in Italy we live in freedom from 1945, in Estonia from 1991 unfortunately, but now we are all together in Ue to cooperate for a real Liberty.

I am not Russian and I think Stalin was one of the greatest CRIMINALS to ever walk the Earth.

However, I also think that the Soviet Story is an extremely HATEFUL and BIGOTED film. It exploits painful memories for POLITICAL gains. The sponsor of the film is a collection of conservative, right-wing political parties called the UEN Group. It's clearly a politically motivated PROPAGANDA film that has little to do with objective history and everything with discrediting the left. It sickens me.

@MrEestimaa USSR under Stalin rewarded the psychopath. If you killed more people you got promoted. That’s why Beria, Yagoda and Yezhov became heads of the NKVD. They themselves were also all shot.

Stalin’s successor Nikita Khrushchev was his trusted deputy and had hundreds if not thousands shot. If he wouldn’t he would probably had met the same fate. BUT! Once Khrushchev took power he DENOUNCED Stalin. Get it now? Things are not as simple as your little brain would like them to be.

Lukas again: I haven't seen any movie that shows Stalin's and Hiltlers propaganda were same.But for some reason Europe is only able to judge Hitler guilty as one voice,but eyes are closed when it comes to communism.I think Russia should also show this movie to their people so they could understand their own history abit more.

@Pseudologic Its well known history that latvians fighting in the Red Army fought against Latvians allied with nazis on latvian soil. That is the fate of small countries you choose a side or an ideology cause there are no other options. But they all wanted Latvia to be independent. After WW1 latvians fought Russians and Germans to gain independence.

@Pseudologic My ancestors are Latvian not Estonian, before WWII latvia had one of the highest standards of living in europe and was not dependent on foreign aid but after the war and 50 years of communism destroyed the country everything had and has to be rebuilt all the mechanisms that make a democratic society. But Latvia will be successful once again, its not so bad living in the EU, the Russians that live here and don't want to go back to their homeland know this.

@Pseudologic No but those crimes occurred during Nazi occupation NOT during Latvian independence. During Latvian independence 1920-1940. Jews lived in harmony with the local population. Ofcourse that changed during Nazi occupation. Also you have to realise that the Nazis weren't the first to persecute jews in Latvia, the soviets started 12 months earlier when they occupied Latvia and deported thousands to siberia, among these people were thousands of jews.

I know jews had a harder time in Russia before WW2 than in Latvia. In Latvia before WW2 there was freedom of religion but not in the soviet union.
