  • Awesome - BEST recorded version of this song I've heard! Kenny just nails a perfect fit solo here!

34 people must be Losing It!

  • Good man Kenny!!

  • The reason why Faces,Led Zep,Stones,Jeff Beck Group,Cream(Clapton over all),Hendrix & a few other quite hard rocking bands are great, is cause they still have that bluesy feeling when they play loud & heavy. I guess what happend then was that the heavy metal bands listen to all these bands from the late 60s & 70s and then thought that they were just playing loud & heavy, but they didn't.. I guess that what Faces, etc played was blues & rock n roll stuff from the 50s & then turned up the volume..

  • at 1:14 i just want to cry, pee my pants, and fight anyone i see. it overwhelms me with so many emotions, and kicks them all into overdrive. in other words, this is the shit!

  • Thank God they had the cameras rollin for this. Great post!

  • This is just too good!

  • rock n roll hall of fame 2012

  • So pleased to see, the positive nature of the comments here, we should, because a beat machine, could never do this, skill, talent, and pashion!! AWESOME SOLO!

  • I'm getting into a habit - I come on youtube now just to listen to this track any time I've got a few minutes to spare!! The Faces at their very best..

  • Stop comparing old music like this to modern mainstream stuff like gaga, of course it's not going to be the same, times have to change. Who do you think influenced people like this? It was rock and roll from the 50's and who do you think influenced the rock and rollers? The jazz and blues musicians, and who do you think influenced them....you see i can go on. But my point is, most of you elitist purists haven't a clue about music and get it handed to you on a plate. SHUT UP AND DO SOME RESEARCH!

  • @randomtask32 The fact that this song is a cover of a temptations song from 1966 just cements my point even further.

  • Kenney Jones before he replaced Keith Moon. Ian McLagan before he started banging Moon's wife. Ron Wood before The Stones. Rod The Mod before disco and pop. Ronnie Lane before multiple sclerosis robbed him from us. Did you know Wood, Stewart, and Jimmy Page pretty much paid Lane's medical bills for him the last part of his life? Lane apparently had trouble getting his Small Faces/Faces music royalties from some greedy bastards...

  • @shoogdon Unbelievable! But that "Stay With Me" video really kicks butt, huh? I'm getting a mullet again. The time has come to bring the Mullet back!

  • Steve Marriot is the man... but this is sooooo fine. Kenny Jones is rock solid.

  • don't ever compare Gaga to this type of music

  • Ronnie is ...so money.

  • whew! man no mere words can state how much THIS IS rock/roll. forgot their power,this 5 piece was the Faces., 4 great years w/ this lot;

  • funniest bit is at 5:57 watch rod stewarts and ronnies face it looks like they want him to stop

  • @cuppa03 "it looks like they want him to stop." My guess is that Wood is waiting for a cue from Jones.

  • Lady Gaga? She copied Madonna and she got her changing what she is from David Bowie who had so many versions of himself.. There is nothing new under the sun.. Gaga is a hollywood shill and this band is amazing at this point in their creation. This before Rod went totally POP. I saw Rod Stewart & the Faces along with Savoy Brown and The Grease Band in Boston in 70- 71 and was one of the best nights of music ever, Gaga is a joke

  • Lady gaga? wtf? she is horseshit

  • Please don't mention The Faces and that Gagagirl in one breath. It's a different league!

  • Cómo suena esta banda. Grandes Rod Stewart y Ron wood.

  • Thank you for uploading this, eltonb. However, it's much too loud; it distorts even at the lowest possible volume. Can you re-upload it with less volume?

  • Kenny was a great drummer. Lets let him off the hook with the WHO. Kieth was not act to follow easily. And this is an iconic drum solo. Besides that, the 80's sucked

  • we listen to gods back then & didn't realize until you hear the crap on radio past 30 years!!

  • Best placed and most listenable drum solo in rock. Perfect song.

  • @kellygregoryross If they did a drum hero this would be one of the first ones to be released?

  • Go Ronnie!

  • Why couldn't Kenny Jones do some stuff like this in The Who?

  • proper music i think i will try some humble pie next

  • I f#@king love Kenney Jones!

  • Just don't have music like this nowadays.........all i've got to look forward to is the latest xfactor winner.........crack a bullet in me head someone please !! I was born too fucking late !!

  • Ronnie Lane is awesome on the bass here...

  • Comment removed

  • Is that KENNY on the drums? Whew!!

  • i dont remember when, but isaw the faces after every picture tells a story.i do remember deep purple was there, but dont know who opened for whom.damn deep purple and the faces in one concert and it only cost $5,good seats too.but that was alot of years and drugs ago.it was after in rock.

  • dont worry im bringing this music back. anyone play the guitar like ronnie wood out there?

  • Comment removed

son theirs.....hate to sound like a geezer but they really do not

  • They've all got this "cute hairy Brit brother" look

man, the girls must have just swooned...

  • MAN there's some good bite in that guitar....

  • That's a LOT of work, isn't it?

  • Absolutely bloody brilliant!

  • For those too young to realize or who have forgotten, proof positive that Rod was indeed ROCKIN' ROD once upon a time! 1st W/Jeff Beck then Ronny & Co.-BTW-one of the most underrated bands EVER...kick assed rock & roll with a heapin' helping dose of blues. Damn this stuff's great. Thanks for sharing this little jewel Brother! Peace!

  • Hippy Mod Kenny Jones proper drum solo

  • Hippy Mod

  • Zero Bullshit! just flat out rock and roll

  • Just NASTY raw Rock Roll

  • is that Brian Eno dancing in the background?

  • Ah, the chemistry of the Faces was pure magic .....

  • Weren't these guys the ultimate cover band. I mean they just take the originals to a whole new level. Just fucking unreal!!! And I'm not even talking about their own songs, which were almost all brilliant. In my top five, for sure!!!

  • This is truely amazing. It should be put into time capsule.

  • I followed them around like my life depended on it......Deadhead style. I'm so glad I was born when I was. We had the BEST music. They started my L O N G love affair with music. Thanks

  • How 'bout some love for Mick Waller?

  • @RManFlint Oops! Kenney Jones

  • @RManFlint Mick Waller played on the song Every Picture Tells A Story. Kenney Jones plays on I'm Losing You.

  • Lane, McLagen, Jones and Wood. That crazed bunch of geniuses absolutely forced Rod to sing as good as he could, which is damn good but seldom heard.

  • Woody ROCKS!

  • I'm a drummer, but that drum solo is so far out of my league i might as well drink

and feel the percussion inside my head "up loud.". 'Cause I think that's the best solo

known to mankind and females too.

  • Absolute Rock and Roll...your getting some serious chicken shack shit on your plate here my son..GET AN EDUCATION!

  • Love the intro on this. Ron Wood absolutely smashes it!

  • What a Talent Ron Wood is!! This funky!

  • I remember being at the skating rink in 72 and this song got me off i could almost leave the ground...If you want to fly...here it is

  • Goes a long way toward explaining why Townshend asked Kenny Jones to join The Who after Moon's untimely demise.

  • An era of great music. Nothing today is even remotely comparable.

  • @akthom

Utter bullshit. Every generation makes comments like that about the next generations music. I grew up on stuff like the faces but my parents thought is was utter crap that didn't deserve to be called music. Just like IDIOTS like you are saying about the next generations music. Hate to break it to you but someone like Lady Gaga will be long remembered when the Faces are totally forgotten about.

  • @newshamg

"Lady Gaga will be long remembered when the Faces are totally forgotten about."

Call me in 40 years and we'll discuss that.

  • everybody is sitting

  • Kick ass version. Like how Rod trips after highlighting Kenny Jones (6:22)!!!

  • Speaking as a woman who has run into her share of men who are 5 foot 5 inches or shorter who have "little men's complexes", it is so very cool to see all the former members of the Small Faces embracing that and running with it! What was said about Ronnie Lane's powerful bass guiitar--- yeah!! These guys were just awesome, and Kenney Jones' drumming, in a time when his peers were Carl Palmer, Ginger Baker, Keith Moon, Mitch Mitchell (talk about a variety of drum playing!) is just great.

  • This was the golden age for all these guys. Wood was much better in the Faces than he ever was in the Stones. Just my opinion. His playing here sort of reminds me of a cross between Beck and Page.

  • Ron Wood Rocks and Rods Sings...good stuff!

  • Ronnie!

  • GO GO KENNY GO!!!!!!!!

  • Cock Rock at it's Finest!

  • This is a phenomenal video, classic Faces and really shows Ron Wood's talent...

  • Rod Stewart-- what a drunken sot, but his vocals were always there..

  • I've heard this song ever since I was little when it came out, but I never really heard the genius of Ronnie Lane's bass playing. He is an amazing bass player. I absolutely LOVE the tone he gets from his rig. I'd like to know what he's running. But beyond that, his note choices and general funkiness is just amazing and I'm sorry I never paid that much attention to it earlier in life. I really missed out.

  • @dLimboStick Ronnie Lane kicked ass for years!!!

  • It's too late now, but what you just saw was 10x better live, if you were there.

  • Fuck this riff is awesome !

  • If there was ever a stronger case for a "Love" button on YouTube, I'd like to see it!

  • Damn, Kenny Jones, Ronnie Lane and Ian McLagan are KILLING IT. : )

  • to bad rod stewart made all that lame disco crap because these guys fuckin rocked in the 70's

  • This song cooks

  • Not many (very few) can draw my attention like this song and emotions as well, this is outstanding, an amazing video-song!!

  • Kenny Jones is a really great drummer!

  • 1408 PEOPLE ARE LOSING YOU.

  • Saw them at least 10 times in the 70's. Always rocked the house down.

  • I love this song in the movie 'The Brother Bloom'. The intro is just great! gotta love it.

  • It appears the camera man was drunk***

  • ronnie du bisch de best

  • THE DRUMS, THE DRUMS, THE DRUMS!!!! BRILLIANT.

  • go to never a dull moment dot com with no spaces and you will hear the most amazing Faces tribute band Also they are playing Friday July 29th at SPOT 5750 at 5750 Hollywood Blvd.

  • @busterthebowlcat lol actually its neveradullmomentband . com

  • Knees up Mother Ron

  • Soul turned into rock. Perfect.

  • absolutely classic, no filtering, just raw kick as Rock N Blues

  • I saw them back in 70s every time they came to town....Fantastic

  • I saw this band live. Rod Steward couldn't sing for shit. When he was off stage on a break (drinking I presume) the band played several jams. They were fucking great. One of the tightest groups I've ever seen. Blew me away. Again, Steward sucked big time, then and now.

  • 28 people had no taste to lose in the first place

  • Mick hucknall?! ffs

  • what i like is how the whole band stays on stage during the kenney's drum solo - SOP is to go off stage and indulge - not so so here

  • I think I was born in the wrong generation, 30 odd years too late, modern rock dosen't have the raw power & enthusiam of the old school <3

  • "Rock is cock"!

  • Ron Wood Rocks!

  • Seriously, who "dislikes" this, what, did your girl fuck the band?

  • @crowezar No but my dad fucked the singer. You asked.

  • @timeallows hahaha, nice.

  • I can head bang to this!

  • So much better than the later Rod Stewart.

  • What a drummer!

  • Blether's got it right. The late great Ronnie Lane drives this with a pounding bass line. God these guys were fun to watch. Nobody enjoyed themselves on stage as much.

  • Temptations, Rare Earth, and the faces. All great versions! All according to your mood and genre!

  • eat your heart out phill collins .cosey powell ken is tyhe dogs

  • Oh so.....funky!!!

  • Good job definitely owns the cover version

  • If I had a time machine I'd go here once a month or so

  • this is one band who showed how much they liked playing together

  • Rod Stewart has his own unique voice

  • RONNIE LANE, IAN MACLAGAN AND KENNY JONES KILLING IT!!!!!

  • It took two to replace one. Ha ha ha, Sorry, Rod and Ronnie, you ain't it.

  • Rod does amazing job here..not gonna touch ruffin though..but still amazing

  • Kenny Jones...what can you say ...kickin @$#^@^ ass

  • I like this solo!!!

  • I can't remember who did the original (might have been Vanilla Fudge, memory escapes me) but the Faces absolutely robbed them and made it their song. I was lucky enough to see them live in the early 70s touring A Nods as Good....

  • @Lasher500

That would be The Temptations 1966; you might be thinking of the Rare Earth version

  • @GreenMonsterMurmur Indeed you are correct. I don't know if I've ever heard the Temptations but I do remember Rare Earth. Wasn't much of a fan of theirs so it was easy for the Faces to steal that tune.

  • Lots of plaudits for the drum solo - and nothing wrong with that - but that intro riff on the guitar is Ronnie W all by himself, and from the top, and Ronnie L kicking in with such power - that intro is the pride of this song for me.

  • @Blether333 I totally agree with you!!

  • @Blether333 I agree, but don't you think that is where the Faces magic is

    Wood Intro

    Bassline addition

    Organ break

    Stewart vocals start

    Drum solo

each of them is completely wired

  • No wonder Pete Townsend said he would rather have Kenny behind him than Keith Moon.

  • Besides I grew up as a kid when they just started the golden age of electro in the late 70s

  • Who heard of this from reading Morpheus road?

  • Rock. 'nuff said.

  • Shit son, that's a badass fucking drum solo.

  • rockin

  • awesome rock as it was meant to be

  • awesome rock as it was meant to be

  • HONKY! THE FAECES!!!!!!! TERRIBLE!!!!!!!

  • Seen ronnie play that Zemaitis - killer tone. Love it - Thanx for posting!

  • Still awesome after all these years, great rock never dies.

  • Deep down and dirty rock n roll.

  • Wow.

Imagine seeing something like this at a small club today. . .

  • Loved the Faces, to bad they broke up, love how young they are & Ronnie Wood joined the Stones....

  • ROD USED TO COME TO FT. LAUDERDALE A LOT IN THE 70'S. JEFF BECK LIVED. RONNIE WOOD TOO. LATE 60'S WERE AWESOME TIMES. EVEN THE ROLLIN STONES LOVED TO VISIT. THAT'S WHERE KEITH WROTE SATISFACTION. RONNIS WENT ON TO BE IN STONES BAND. BAD'S WERE LESS AGRESSIVE BACK THEN. I COULD TELL YA SOME GREAT STORIES. CONCERTS WERE CHEEP BACK THEN AND EVERY ONE SMOKED BACK THEN.

  • Ron Wood is killing it!

  • This is SMOKIN!!!

  • Stonking tune!!!

How come I only just heard this? Where the fuck have I been all my life!!??

  • @100021861 You must have been in a cave or under a rock. Well at least you have it now.

  • classic why? great riff, killer bass line, piano and a beat...with Vocals by the roosted head himself!!! Ho yeah loosing a chick.... nuff said...

  • wow what a great drummer and the guitar bass drums kenny is great alsoone of a kind

  • Rod eats fetuses. I seen it.

  • This song come from mighty heaven! Baby yeah!

  • dbryanrob1, You are soooo lucky! I was in the ninth grade then but very aware of the great music of the era. In fact the music got me through the agony of high school.

  • I went to a concert in Detroit (1970?). When the Faces started playing this song, David Ruffin of the Temptations, who wrote it, came out and sang it as a duet with Rod...brought the house down.

  • My parents used to listen to this when I was a kid in the 70's. What a great song...

  • KICK ASS!

  • Great post... Thanks!

  • If Carlsberg made bands, they'd all be as good as this....................Probably

  • Ten years ago, I was fanatic of this group...

  • They used to call this songwriting.
