There are two different types of backing tracks. One is basically a tap tempo metronome. The other is a set of various tracks like the one you hear behind me (some are funk, some rock, some are just crap too...like my playing). The loop station itself is fun though, highly recommend the RC-20XL over the RC-2

Does anyone know how to access the pre-loaded tracks ? I just bought a used RC-20 but I do not have the manual.

Probably the guy you bought it from erased the tracks and didn't do a factory reset.

they are on a cd, that you can record on your rc20-xl.
so they are not really on the device.

@james0033 you can save loops, u can connect your Ipod, pc what ever. So you can also play after mp3 and stor it.
