@yuri60014 many centuries of being under Ottoman rule. their culture has gotten into Serbian culture, mostly in music. it's a shame that we have very little authentic Serbian music. the new wave of rock music in the 80s was a good attempt, but most people in Serbia have changed back to oriental style music by now, for some reason. most of us are probably not aware of the similarity. my friends and I joke about it and call this music "the Turks" whenever we hear it on TV or the radio :P

I come from Belgrade yet I live 20000km away from it in a much bigger and nicer city. However, Belgrade is in my hart and as such shall stay in my memory as the nices place I have ever encountered. Why r u fighting? I was in Belgrade yesterday. It was snowing and it was so beautiful. Why can't u see the beauty? Maybe this video isn't that great, but you can enter "belgrade" and search for another one (if you haven't seen it), but if you have seen Belgrade or live in it, I think that you would agree it really is beautiful, maybe not as Paris, Rome, London or Moscow, but perfectly enough beautiful. Just close your eyes and you'll se the beauty in every sound, in every move, in every touch...

If any of you are somewhat educated and read, you will know that belgrade was voted the number one city in europe and made top 5 city in the world for the best place to visit and night life in 2008 in Canada and USA.
You must go visit it to see it your self.

I am sure that you won´t find any similar place on our planet. Also not the streets and buildings, but the inhabitants of this town mostly do characterize it.
20 years ago when I visited Belgrade regularly, I also felt that mixture of love and magic and lots of minor components (of course not only beautiful ones) and if any guest has the opportunity to feel this today, he is just lucky.

what is your point? athens is a great city... probably the best one i've lived in... and i'm from belgrade... that being said, even NYC and SF do not, really, cast a shadow on Belgrade (when it comes to lifestyle, culture, ...), if they do at all... any other city I've seen in the US is hardly worth mentioning ...
also, you might want to check your facts: we are not muslims ... not that there's anything wrong with muslims... and greeks actually love us ... (as do most italians...)
