@ EmsSuomi : I am not Greek but I LOVE the music and I am told I dance the Zeibekiko very well. It is a very pasionate dance and you have to FEEL the passion of the music. There are some basic steps but the dance is not a 'set' dance. With experience you learn which move flows well into another and you 'choreograph' a new dance 'on the fly' every time you dance. The most important thing is to keep to the rhythm and mood of the music. As long as you do that you can't really make a mistake.

Yes...but the best zeimbekiko dances I ever saw were danced by nondrunk people...And if somebody can dance an amazing zeimbekiko being nondrunk he will be able to do it also after some alcohol too

Should it be learned to dance zeibekiko by watching from videos ? I love this dance, I wish I could be as good as this gentlemen is, even tho I am not Greek ? And, is it considered too bad in greek people opinion if one try to dance it and make mistakes ? :))

zembekiko has some steps but you cannot dance by the rules because then its not zeibekiko its just a typical dance

You are totally right. Zembekiko has nothing to do with "I feel good" or "good moode". You must have a bad mood or think about a bad time in your life when you dance it. Because you are dancing to a song, and there is no Zembekiko Song with "I feel good" lyrics.

But this is something that only a greek man can feel, its called pain and "Kaimos".

those grown up people you see having 1 or 2 drinks & dancing, aren't drunk from 1 or 2 drinks ! You can express yourself without getting drunk first.. Greeks call it "kefi" which youdon;t need to be drunk to acheive kefi... some of the original zeimbekika songs weren;t danced to while were drunk either ;-)

A true zeibekiko is danced when you are a little bit drunk because that way you dance and create your own world and universe in public being cheered up by others without caring about rules and regulations. You create your own space and rules and express the way you want and feel like. I really admire that guy's balance and rythm. He hasn't missed a step and he remained in tune with the song's harmony.He even did a jump.Zeibekilo is to feel good and leave everything behind.
