  • This is one of those songs that the more you listen to it, the more you understand and like it.

  • this is fucking unbelievable

  • cant wait to get the albums!!

  • Tosin's guitar playing is so beautiful. Not only is he incredibly talented, but he can actually make his music sound incredible too.

  • I would like that this song never stop...

  • Who the hell are the 8 people that disliked this!

  • @leafytrees his 8 strings for being raped by a god

  • The intro sounds a bit like Waves by Guthrie Govan. But fuckin' nice song ! ;)

  • Tosin is way better than everyone ever played an instrument!!!!!!!

  • very good band

discovered it a few weeks ago

at first I saw the name and said "Screamo deathcore?"

then I listened and said "FUCKING AWESOME"

    really good guitarists \m/

  • Definitely love the 1st Album more.

  • This song should be much more famous,

I honestly think it's the best song of them all :)

  • nice sound its really a new experience

  • 8 people are now in the hospital for having their brains melted..

  • @falcoperegrinus82

I wish I could agree with you because so much more music would be appealing to me otherwise. I can't tell you how many progressive, technical, power metal, or djent bands had flawless instrumentation then the vocalist opened his mouth and ruined my experience. I've tried my best to move past my bias (I really have), but I still feel that certain styles would benefit from omitting the vocal track.

    tl;dr djent + vox = :( me

  • I know, I think I've said this before, but... this is pretty much the best song ever.

  • did you know this is a cover?

  • @syeKcaW Of?

  • @Deathgiver101 /watch?v=UyRZKOILEMo obivously its extremely different from Tosin's impression, but same song none the less

  • This is incredible!!!

  • Some of the best fucking music there is *snivel*

  • I try, but i just can't seem to get into these guys

  • @psychopathtoine I had that too, I heard cafo and I was like "WTF is this shit???" but then I heard it again an half year later and it immediately became one of my favorite songs XD

  • @psychopathtoine Try some Sybreed then

  • LOVE IT. LOVE IT.

3:30 - 4:12 is just beautiful. It is very reminiscent of BTBAM's more ethereal guitar solo work, but not to the extent that it is a copy. It is independently and uniquely beautiful, just like this entire genre of music. THANK YOU for sharing!

  • Satriani and Tosin are way too different to be simply compared: they are both gods, but still way too different

  • @XsanderPark agreed they have different styles but in terms of sheer skill, tosin is on another level.

  • most intense 6 minutes of my life.

  • Tosin..i love him because hes formulaic in the way no one has ever been before so its all new

  • The outro riff is so insanely good...

  • Tosin > Satriani

  • fuck... tosin is wayy better than satriani. lol

  • @RunsInTheSkinnyJeans thank you Captain Understatement! (no offence)

  • @RunsInTheSkinnyJeans gotta love satch though.

  • @RunsInTheSkinnyJeans different styles, but still yea man i feel like tosin is def. top 3 in the game rite now. WHO LIKES SOME STEVE VAI?!

  • @RunsInTheSkinnyJeans They both have their own styles, and they are both gods.

  • @RunsInTheSkinnyJeans Tosin is also seemingly in a different catagory, in my opinion. Apples and oranges, etc.

  • @RunsInTheSkinnyJeans Watch it...

  • @RunsInTheSkinnyJeans the most sensible thing i've heard all day. :)

  • @RunsInTheSkinnyJeans Why bash satch? satch is the man, so is tosin. Stupid kids, always comparing apples to oranges.

  • <3 So much <3

  • Increible!!

  • 3:49-6:10 amazing

  • chill music

  • Tune

  • Yeah.. what about the music ? x)

  • @xXWoOdstokXx Come on now, what's a video on youtube without a political argument in the comments section?

  • i can hear this over and over again and never get bored..

  • The great playing and lack of vocals is why I like AAL. I listen to music for the pleasure of hearing music not to hear about someones political or religious beliefs. That and instrumental groups have to play better since they do not have someone singing to distract people from what the instruments being played are doing.

  • @trentnmiller A lot of the time, I see vocals as just another instrument that compliments the music and does not detract or distract at all.

  • @falcoperegrinus82 I am too lazy at the moment to look what you replied to, but this is a top comment full of WIN

  • @falcoperegrinus82 I agree completely. I hum along to vocals like they are another instrument most of the time. I dislike that so much focus is put on them as if they can't be done without.

  • Awesome, moving stuff. Needs some vocals though, in the style of Chino Moreno from Deftones would be cool.

  • one of the most amazing technical guitarists of all time i swear he locked himself in his room and played nothing but guitar for 10 years straight.

  • @777thechamp The funny thing is, he is self taught too and he plays an eight string guitar.

  • @dbotroniclol1 Is he actually self-taught?

    That blows my mind

  • @rileymcpl I'd be surprised if he wasn't... Where'd you learn to play like that?

  • @AngryFuriousMonkey ...... anywhere with music theory book and a fucktonne of ingenuity...

  • 1:13 has to be my favorite part of any song. ever.

  • This song is epic :-)

  • Fucking amazing.

  • WHY CAN'T I FIND THIS ON SPOTIFYASDF

  • love dis band!!!!

  • Awesome. reminds me of death note music tracks

  • Fucking awesome song man

  • For Teh Lulz.....

  • @spacemanmatt Not at all.

  • The 6 people that disliked deserve to have their throats slit.

  • @M40A3Affliction Extreme much?

  • @M40A3Affliction wow chill out bro

  • @M40A3Affliction Agreed.

  • awesoME

  • This guy is a prodigy, it doesn't make sense for him to make a jump from his old shitty band to this, he may say its just practice, thats BS, he was born with genius.

  • @Sh1fters I'm sure he would punch you in the face for shitting on all his hard work. Genius doesn't yield skill without effort.

  • @spacemanmatt you fail to understand what a genus is

  • this band is amazing...

  • Go Tebow!

  • @mammalspod No....

  • Description for the video: "Let the music do all the talking"

  • What a cacophonous masterpiece of rhythm chaos and melody this is.

  • @SirAlaska Not cacophonous, this is felicitous. The specific genres of Metal and core bands where dissonance is required, now that's cacophonous.

  • What is THC

  • @Sphereal the chemical drug in marijuana.. its what gets u high when u smoke weed

  • @darknessxislight nooooo wait ya

  • @witchiepunk TesseracT is much better live though x3 I'd rather hear them live than stereo... but yes AAL and BTBAM DOMINATED the stage/club/venue/night

I can't wait to hear either of them again ESPECIALLY Animals As Leaders!!! <3

  • @witchiepunk Yeah I seen them too, I didn't really like tesseract.

  • thts right...you dont need a video description for this.....

  • @witchiepunk That would be Tesseract. I just saw them too :D

  • Brilliant!!!

  • honey badger dont give a shit, honey badger took an arrow to the knee.

  • @UnknownRex33 and it still dont give a shit

  • On impulse I wank, but i think I'll look at the christmas tree. oh what christmas auras i have discovered!

  • In my opinion, the only one to really innovate in progressive, intrigated, jazz influenced metal, in the way of Cynic. not that it sounds like Cynic, but same attitude, in research of creating something new.

  • I just started playing 1 month ago and it is my dream to play this good. I wonder how many hours a day and years of practice it will take to reach this level of perfection?

  • @turboboy68 Just keep practicing. I'm sure you will be this good eventually.

  • @turboboy68 Depends on so many factors that's it's impossible to say really. But what's important to keep in mind is that it can be done. I've been playing for 20 years on and off, I am not this good... but others could easily become this good in 2 or 3 years with the right teachers, routine and dedication. However, even not being this good, I find playing very rewarding and an important part of my life, so I'm confidant you'll get that out of it no matter what else. Peace!

  • @turboboy68 2 hours a day would not be too much. That's what I did with bass during 3-4 years, but I stopped working seriously as my bands didn't that technic. Of course I never reached to that point!^^

  • 1.38 reminds me of Guthrie Govan's Waves.

  • I can NOT stop hitting replay, this song too incredible.

  • Serene, ravishing. Lush.

  • You can definitely hear a Crimson influence on Abasi, but that doesn't diminish his work in the slightest.

No artist is 100% original; all songwriters take something they've heard somewhere else as inspiration for what they write

It's just that AAL is a lot more original than other bands :D

  • @CydoniaKnight1 Crimson as in King Crimson? If so, it would do anything but diminish his work. After all, King Crimson was pretty much the father band of Progressive music.

  • @IronreaverVII Yeah, my point exactly

    I love both bands :P

  • All you kids are whack man. This is sick though even without thc.

  • Watch the black guy (Don't know his name) play his chords is jaw dropping. Big props to him and the band.

  • @FriedBraneMetalHead what band is THC??? O_o

  • @bryan1113b hes talkin about weed man hes sayin its a good mix with this epic ass band

  • very talented and original band . i love it .

  • how does king crimson come into mind with animals?

  • @horacioabraham cause that other guy is fucking retarded

  • big king crimson ripoff. just listen to the album "deconstruktion of the light" fanboys.

This guy's a great guitarist, but far from a great song-writer, my goodness, far.

  • @yoe91 ????..........you know deaf people really shouldnt be allowed to judge music, I mean you have to be deaf otherwise youre bat shit crazy to even suggest Construktion (not destruktion) of light is even remotely the same. they sound nothing alike.

  • @IGNsucks the fact that you don't see how blatantly limited Abasi's song-writing chemistry is, and that you would possibly deny the huge copy/pasting from that Crimson album and call ME names for it is ridiculous. In fact.

  • @yoe91 Right apparently its a huge copy and paste effort from an album you couldnt even spell correctly.........go back to your bridge troll...........King Crimson is alright AT BEST......

  • @IGNsucks alright break it up guys, break it up !! ;)

  • @IGNsucks I haven't heard that album. But the similarities to King Crimson, Robert Fripp is obvious to me. I'm surprised more people aren't hearing it. It's obvious that King Crimson is a huge influence on Abasi.

  • @otakurocklee King Crimson fans say it sounds like King Crimson, Meshuggah fans say its sounds like Meshuggah, Dream Theater fans say it sounds like Dream Theater...........Ive fucking heard it all at this point. AAL sounds like AAL, the rest is just people imposing their own personal opinions on the music and hearing what they already thought it would sound like.

  • @yoe91 What are you talking about? Tosin Abasi is an amazing songwriter and guitarist, maybe you should just listen to some other songs also, for instance CAFO.

No musician in the whole world would want to rip someone else off, you just write what sounds right to you, and sometimes it happens that two riffs sound identical, but that's just that riff which is a very small part of a whole song.

  • Lyrics by Tosin Abasi

  • Dave Grohl is the only thing to come out of Nirvana...

  • i got there new album i was kind of disapointed to much add ins not enough playing still amazeing though little less alienesqe would of helped.

  • THC + AAL = Peace of mind

  • @FriedBraneMetalHead Who is THC? If they are anywhere as cool as AAL I will have two favorites!

  • @57badarse He's referring to the chemical in Marijuana that gets you high.

  • @57badarse haha there my two favorites, however THC doesn't perform music but enhances it. I was referring to cannabis man.

  • @57badarse Weed. THC, is weed. Smoke it to this.

  • @aj777vxz Tetrahydrocannabinol,

  • Aphex Twin meets Tortoise meets a guy named Fripp Vai and decides to make an incredible record.

  • @jazar @viletree Duuuuuudeeeeeeees one more time.... MUSIC TASTES DIFFER

  • love.

  • imbalanced. :)

  • Holy Potatoes!, it doesn't need words cuz it's that mindblowing!

  • asymetricals bars.

    i like it

  • THE JIMMY HENDRIX OF OUR GENRATION!!!!

  • 3:50 is great.

  • ok tosin...you got this down..but can you play nirvana?

  • @IAMinDreams Nirvana is garbage.

  • @IAMinDreams The best thing to come out of Nirvana is Kurt Cobain's very public suicide. I just wish it would've happened before he made what he calls music, but I clearly interpret as nothing more than "noise."

  • @SoraThe1WingedAngel all music is noise, i still think its funny you see my first comment as anything more than a joke ahahahah

  • @SoraThe1WingedAngel Actually, Dave Grohl is the best thing to come out of Nirvana.

    Just saying.

  • @keyblade281 You know what? You're right, I apologize. Grohl is the best thing to come out of Nirvana.

  • @IAMinDreams He can play it with his toes...

  • what the hell is 240p?

  • @MrSpideyAG oh my god are you serious?

  • Amazing band

  • When I first heard this track, my mind was blown.

A year later and it still has that effect.

  • He just loves the snare

  • @viletree Tosin Abasi basically shits talent. Animals as Leaders writes beautiful music, and you have no right to diss on anyone who likes listening to them or the band themselves. I strongly urge you to actually click on a link that you might enjoy. Thank you, and have a great fucking day.

  • Almost makes it seem as if god exists.

  • @rahagbab He does. His name is Joe Satriani ;)

  • @ripstack How pathetic... comparing Satriani to god.

Yes, he is pretty awesome, bot he's not as good as Satriani.

  • @rahagbab lmao..

  • @rahagbab

    your comparing apples and oranges.

you have no authority on comparing guitar players that good until you reach that level, if you ever do. You won't though.

  • @FecalSpat Let me start off by saying that I love your name.

Second, I'm not comparing anything, logically speaking I've made two statements.

    1. Joe Satriani is better than god

    2. On Impulse almost makes it seem as if god exists

both of which were said in a humorous tone, and hence should not be taken seriously as a measure of compatibility

  • @rahagbab First of all, You can't compare musicians but I will here for the sake of your silly comment. Tosin is actually MUCH more skilled in the compositional aspect of music than Satriani, that's even obvious to an 8 year old. Satriani always does a G3 tour for shredders but can't shred himslef cause i've never seen him shred. Look up Shredders on youtube: MAB, Malmsteen, Petrucci etc. And ye Tosin kicks his ass in technical aspect too. Tosin composed this whole album by himself.

  • @IIBlackoftheNightII Agreed, though still. I respect both on the same level. Probably because at times I find myself struggling to comprehend Tosin's work, particularly the weightless album.

  • wow first time i heard this

Really good i love youtube !

  • Vaguely guthrie govan-ish. Another fantastic tune.

  • saw them live, and they were beyond amazing!

wis i knew the songsthey were playing :/

  • @333AndMan Yeah they never say haha

  • 240p ;( you know what folks il uplaod it in hq :)

  • This is an awesome band. It's unfortunate that they get paired up with shitty deathcore bands like veil of Maya, white chapel and other repetitive bullshit. Thia band should be touring with bands like cynic, psycroptic, Aghora, atheist, akercocke and other death metal bands.
